@JalapenoDave hahah how does it feel? 😂😂😂

WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat · 06/09/2020 19:37

I haven't read the thread, it's too long, too many replies, so I may have misunderstood the issue.
Do you mean that people are ignoring you in shops / banks / zoos etc?

JalapenoDave · 06/09/2020 19:42
@JalapenoDave hahah how does it feel? 😂😂😂
Wonderful! 😂

Supermum12345 · 06/09/2020 20:14

@WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat Haha no!

I would post threads and I would hardly get any replies so I was quite annoyed but this thread has literally so many replies it's shocking lol 😂

Isthismylifeonow
I'm putting my fingers in my ears. I can't be confused by more options. Someone will come along and start talking about steam tumble dryers which is a whole new rabbit hole

ReadySetStay · 06/09/2020 21:29

@PickAChew

I'm sure we used to be able to search for threads with no replies yet.

Or was that somewher else?

I think you can still see some unanswered threads when you check the 'New' tab, next to the 'Trending' tab.

@WhoWouldHaveThoughtThat
I have THAT problem...people tend to ignore me IRL...MAYBE I SHOULD SPEAK LOUDER

ReadySetStay · 06/09/2020 21:35
@Sweetpea1532 That really does happen in Africa, but only if you leave your washing outside until dusk. You can get rid of the eggs by carefully ironing your clothing, though. I was very grossed out by the mere thought of this happening, however.

It doesn't happen in the UK, though, thankfully.
That really does happen in Africa

What, the whole of Africa?

Please elect this for Classics...

TheLastStarfighter · 06/09/2020 21:47

On the tumble dryer front - I can also confirm I can open the door on my condensing TD whenever I want, but it makes no difference anyway because I can’t get the bloody thing to actually dry the clothes 🙄

And hi @Supermum12345 👋

Sweetpea1532 · 06/09/2020 22:22

Thanks, Mittens and Is this my Life,
I just love a good factoid!Grin

Supermum12345 · 06/09/2020 22:32

My tumble dryer is great, it dries clothes well. I haven't hung washing around the house for years.

WithIcePlease · 06/09/2020 23:50

I could never hang washing around the house. I think because my dad hated it and when he came in at night (side door, working clothes taken off in the utility outhouse) my mum scurried round taking the washing off radiators. I've no idea why she never used the tumble dryer

Inkpaperstars · 07/09/2020 00:03

We don't have a tumble dryer (small rental) or any outside space, or a utility room obviously so it is washing festooned around for us, takes up an extraordinary amount of space. It is not great.

If you have a small kid this is heaven for them. Weekly multiple different setup of tents! :) We used to live in a very small flat when our son was born and he genuinely loved playing with newly washed clothes. I had to come up with this create a tent together for today idea, otherwise he just pulled everything off. On the other hand, putting the washing out sometimes took 2-3 hours :(
TheSunIsStillShining · 07/09/2020 02:03

Oh and @Supermum12345 - I've killed 3 threads today. Wondering if this one will be the fourth. Hope not :)

Sweetpea1532 · 07/09/2020 02:59

Oh no, Sun, we can't let that happen!
I have a tumble dryer, but since we don't have air conditioning and it has been 37°C for the last 2 days, I have been hanging our clothes out in the front garden on the fence and sun umbrellas...it look very tacky, but hey, I'm trying to do my part to combat global warming...hope a fly doesn't decide to lay eggs on my knickersGrin

SapphireSeptember · 07/09/2020 03:10

I feel your pain OP. I've started several threads in the music section that have had no replies. Sad

Mumsnet is definitely the place to talk about first world problems. Grin

Supermum12345 · 07/09/2020 07:30

@TheSunIsStillShining haha looks like the curse has been lifted as you haven't killed this thread!

Still going.

I got a few bits and bobs to do now, but will pop back later to chivvy things along if necessary.

WithIcePlease · 07/09/2020 10:30

Glad this is still going. Sadly work is interfering with MNing today

Supermum12345 · 07/09/2020 11:03

@WithIcePlease I'm surprised it's still going too haha!

Well I'm jus laying down resting while DD naps. Not feeling the best due to periods been on for like 3 weeks so feel as though have no energy at all. So laying here hoping DD naps at least for 2 hours lol
