Exactly that. AIBU to be pissed about it lol I just feel like I see so many posts with 100s of replies and I can barely get 1!!!

OP posts:

The most silly thing so far is a funeral and buried plot receipt from the 1960s. Who keeps this stuff? It is.in.the.bin 🙂

Milliepossum · 05/09/2020 23:32

There’s heaps more to sift through so it will probably get worse, and if I see a spider I will run away

PickAChew · 05/09/2020 23:35

I'm sure we used to be able to search for threads with no replies yet.

Or was that somewher else?

Inthebackoftheimpala · 05/09/2020 23:36

@Milliepossum I cleared out a relatives home last year he had every wage slip he got from 1963 and every bank statement not forgetting every instruction manual for electric goods from the same year. Funeral plan receipt and will, well he shredded those. .. I killed four shredders with bank statements alone. 😂

DeliciouslyFemale · 05/09/2020 23:37

Well I was going to start a thread about fleas, but I didn’t think anyone would bite.

DeliciouslyFemale · 05/09/2020 23:38

You’re right. It was under ‘unanswered posts’ or something like that.
Kashtan · 05/09/2020 23:39

Or are no replies better than being accused of making it all up, which happened to me on a thread a few moago.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 05/09/2020 23:47

Hi Supermum, I think most threads only get a few replies. It’s just the really popular ones like AIBU that show up in the Trending box and then get loads more replies.

I’ve started a few threads asking for advice, and never had many replies but usually usually got a few useful responses.

Enough4me · 05/09/2020 23:47

OP, best thread I've read all year honest not honest

Milliepossum · 05/09/2020 23:47

I feel your pain, it’s a constant mental drain first working out what the thing is and then the why, oh why keep this? Four shredders is pretty impressive too.

Jenasaurus · 05/09/2020 23:53

I know how you feel OP, I seem to be a thread stopper, I make a comment and the thread abruptly ends, hope I havent cursed yours

MrsBobDylan · 05/09/2020 23:53

I once started a thread about about ds' school mini bus blocking the road for under 60 seconds as he got out to meet me, while my neighbour continuously pressed her car horn. When I told her the kids on the bus were disabled and she would be stressing them out, she shouted back "I didn't know your kid has a fucking disability."

I got lots of replies and was reminded why I shouldn't ever consult the general MN population because at least half of us are absolute fuckwits who can't take in salient info from the op.

I had to hide the thread in the end because it was very popular and just wouldn't die.

Be careful what you wish for...

Enough4me · 06/09/2020 00:03

Under another username I once posted about a stressful event with my DS at a time I felt vulnerable. A few posters were really nasty, probably trolls, but others were supportive. I often suggest people get support IRL as some advice is shit mixed.

whywhywhy6 · 06/09/2020 00:07

I’ll reply to your threads OP. I do like a diagram though so maybe you need to add in a few of those randomly too.

Downunderduchess · 06/09/2020 00:08

I’ve had a couple of threads not get any responses. I’m in Sydney so maybe the timing is an issue.

Jenasaurus · 06/09/2020 00:14

Lucky Sydney, :)

jessstan2 · 06/09/2020 00:23

What have you been watching on TV tonight? I have Law and Order SVU on atm, all good wholesome stuff.

My downstairs toilet is blocked and I will tackle it tomorrow. I have bought a plunger and various types of dangerous chemicals to aid me. In the meantime I have to 'go' upstairs.

How have you managed during lockdown? Do you have children? I have one.

Nice to talk to you.

jessstan2 · 06/09/2020 00:27

Supermum: Iv posted about advice on a few things like sleep or periods.
.....
I'm interested in sleep - really!
I used to have periods but too old now; I do remember them though (they were gross).
Fire away.

SD1978 · 06/09/2020 00:29

Do you have something specific in mind? Some threads just grab people, or sound drama filled. I alsways find though starting one with no one will answer usually at least gets you a few are you ok replies.

hastingsmua1 · 06/09/2020 00:30

It’s fine. I have had threads with hundreds of responses and also threads with zero responses. No big deal, I’ve always had support when I’ve needed it

WithIcePlease · 06/09/2020 00:33

I really really want to post about tumble dryer opening times. I doubt if that will get as many replies as this 😢

GroggyLegs · 06/09/2020 00:36

withice - you're not allowed a tumble dryer on MN. You have to have a brabantia rotary line & not let the clothes get darked on.

It's a rule.

TinkersTailor · 06/09/2020 00:42

I've looked at your past threads and mostly all of them have replies, with you not coming back to speak to the posters who've answered.

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 06/09/2020 00:45

I'm a thread killer myself!

It's good if you can pick up an 'enemy' that posts an opposing view on all your threads. I've noticed one poster in particular has such and I think it's an ongoing saga.

Maybe get another ID and start responding to yourself on your own threads!

Enough4me · 06/09/2020 00:52

I love my tumble dryer and I have no shame.
