Ms Krug, a Jewish woman form Kansa purported to be a Black woman and was a Professor of AfricanAmerica Hostory at George Washington University . Teaching classes and supervision grad and undergrad students in African American History

She was also an activist who posted and participated in rallies and events as Jessica La Bombalera. Demonstrating against the gentrification of East Harlem, proclaiming it to be her neighbourhood

Essentially she has gaslight, lied and assumed an identity that is not hers. In doing so,other candidates were denied opportunities, remuneration. She has assumed an identity and heritage that was not hers to assume

Exposed by a student who had the courage to confide in other teaching staff

Unusual too Stealth. Normally there are lots of very reasonable replies to questions like this.

Not

Stripesgalore · 04/09/2020 14:47

‘It's not though, as with sex there are two variations of biological and sociological - though race doesn't have the gender equivalent term. There's race that's biological, a determination of skin colour, physiology, prone to certain illness or other biological factors depending on your race, and then there's the socialogical race where human-made stereotypes and prejudice come into play to
put people into personality boxes much, much like gender.’

Different human races are not a concept in biology. Make and female are concepts in biology.

BigBadVoodooHat · 04/09/2020 14:51

You are misreading me here

Apologies - yes, I did misread you. Sorry about that.

howard97A · 04/09/2020 14:57

She says

“I have not lived a double life. There is no parallel form of my adulthood connected to white people or a white community or an alternative white identity. I have lived this lie, fully, completely, with no exit plan or strategy. I have built only this life, a life within which I have operated with a radical sense of ethics, of right and wrong, and with rage, rooted in Black power, an ideology which every person should support, but to which I have no possible claim as my own.”

I can’t help wondering if she’s waiting for someone from wokedom to come along and say,

“No, Jessica. You have not lived a lie. You were assigned white at birth, but your feelings are the real you. You are black!”

BigBadVoodooHat · 04/09/2020 14:59

Male and female are concepts in biology.

I don’t understand what you mean by this.

How are the categorisations of male/female ‘conceptual‘ in biological terms? They are established on the basis of defined and observable criteria Confused

Butchyrestingface · 04/09/2020 15:00

“No, Jessica. You have not lived a lie. You were assigned white at birth, but your feelings are the real you. You are black!”

Nah. Women are expected to validate men in this way. They don't get to expect similar validation themselves.

thinkfast · 04/09/2020 15:02

Wow! Why are you emphasising her Jewish background in your title OP?

Her Jewishness is entirely irrelevant to her actions and the emphasis placed on this is either anti-Semitic or just thoughtless. Black people can be Jewish you know. Are you familiar with the term Shrodingers whites?

Butchyrestingface · 04/09/2020 15:05

Wow! Why are you emphasising her Jewish background in your title OP?

Wasn't it JK herself who did that?

Stripesgalore · 04/09/2020 15:06

Bigbad, I only mean that biologists recognise their material existence- like grass, fish, chlorophyll. As opposed to different human races, which don’t exist in biology.

HathorX · 04/09/2020 15:08

So if I felt I was born into the wrong body, I could decide to live my life as a black man?

I think it's bizarre that no one rumbled this woman sooner. She must have been very convincing.

If we can choose our identities, can I also decide to be 25 years old again? I definitely don't feel like I'm 40something.

MeridaTheBold · 04/09/2020 15:20

If you live in Canada, you can decide to be a 6-year-old so I guess 25 would be fine.
It's reminding me of the video where the white, male interviewer told students on campus that he was a Chinese woman when he obviously wasn't. They all agreed he was a Chinese woman. It only fell apart when he said he was 6ft tall. Apparently you can't self-id to be taller but everything else is fine Hmm

sst1234 · 04/09/2020 15:25

BLM cause is being hijacked by people like this. Make no mistake, they are doing absolutely nothing to support true equality, just indulging themselves and their crazy identity politics.
@SentientAndCognisant

Sorry for the tone of my post. I mostly objected to the word 'courage'. I don't think it is courageous to bring situations like this to light. So that makes me roll my eyes.

And OBVIOUSLY I object to somebody taking a black person's opportunities. Bloody hell.
You object to the word courage? From that, I deduce that you’re not black, because I can tell you, it takes some balls to be that one dissenting voice in a sea of institutionalised racism, knowing full well you’re going to fuck up your job, if not your career.

Hadjab · 04/09/2020 15:40

Why is everyone having a go at the OP? The woman outed herself as a “white Jewish woman” - she clearly felt the need to illustrate the distance from what she represented herself to be and what she is.
sashagabadon · 04/09/2020 15:40
@AnotherEmma
Women in the West are not an oppressed group. The fact that women in other parts of the world are oppressed doesnt automatically entail that all women are. Christians are oppressed in some countries, but it makes no sense to say all Christians are victims of oppression.
I don't think it's that women are oppressed. Rather they face a disadvantage in society due to the fact they are of the sex class that gets pregnant and gives birth. They are also physically less strong than men as smaller, lighter etc
So monthly menstruation from 12/13 and all that entails. Then pregnancy/ birth for many which is high risk activity. Then the lovely menopause.
Men have their own health issues due to being men but not on a par with women

howard97A · 04/09/2020 15:42

Hathor, you would be welcome under the Stonewall umbrella as a man, but not – I think – as black. At the moment, I’d say that black exclusivity overrides trans inclusivity.

But who knows where the Identity Bandwagon will take us?

thinkfast · 04/09/2020 16:44

Hadjab - I think that we can safely deduce that Jessica Krug's actions are ones that many people wouldn't copy. I believe the OPs comments are either thoughtless or anti-Semitic and I'm calling her out.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 04/09/2020 16:50

i believe the OPs comments are either thoughtless or anti-Semitic

I believe the OP is quoting Jessica krug

JacobReesMogadishu · 04/09/2020 16:50

I don’t know how she fooled people for so long.

I wonder if she will lose her job now and if so will she be able to sue for racial discrimination?

SheepandCow · 04/09/2020 16:52

I wondered why the OP felt it was relevent that she's Jewish. Then I realised it's perhaps because it rather complicates the situation. I remembered, whilst discussing this on another thread, a previous thread about Jewish people and whether they were BAME. Someone pointed out that Jews (a historically very oppressed group, aren't all white), but those that are white are not seen as white by many far right racists.

SheepandCow · 04/09/2020 16:59

I also agree that it's confusing that there's outrage over someone being trans-race but not over someone being trans-gender (there's an added confusion by the tendency to use sex and gender interchangeably). Either both types of trans identity are ok or neither.

(Re sge. If I was trans-age, I'd go older rather than younger. I'm ready to take my pension and retire by the sea).

Bryyy · 04/09/2020 17:00

Yes @SheepandCow I'm Jewish and don't consider myself white

ListeningQuietly · 04/09/2020 17:00

The OP mentioned that the lady was Jewish because it was a key part of the mea culpa blog post.

I completed a survey today for the Local Authority which asked me which racial group i self identified with. Actually it was a mix of skin tones and nationalities.
It was the first time i've been asked which i self-identify with.

Newwayofthinking · 04/09/2020 17:03

In a world where men can say they are women, why can't someone say they are a different ethnicity 🤷‍♀️
