id like to think that when i come on here for a quick chat im talking to other women. ive noticed some men on here and thats actually putting me off. some of the topics we talk about are very intimate. i cant understand why men would want to come on this website, maybe the name should be changed to parentnet. aibu.

If it's good enough for the Pope Vacua!!!

scarybee · 06/10/2007 13:12

I like to think that some of the topics discussed here would be rather refreshing for men

It's not like they're particularly erotic

StormieOMartian · 06/10/2007 13:13

join my site, we do genital checks before we allow members to post.

And I promise we don't sell the footage!

XratedOtter · 06/10/2007 13:13

dont you talk to your dh about your fanny?

2hot2cook · 06/10/2007 13:14

well, maybe i just want to talk to women. (im not gay) im not uncomfortable around men in rl, but i choose to speak to them if i want. on here i have no choice. maybe too nieve to think only mums on here. but yes, i am the one who deals with the children, dh has very little involvement, too busy working.

I bet the Mooncup discussion was very enlightening to some of the men! Even some of the women didn't know what they were!!

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 06/10/2007 13:14

I just realised I'm reading this to my DP, does that make anyone feel uncomfortable?

littlelapintofbloodmwahaha · 06/10/2007 13:14

It's the INTERNET, you could be talking to your DH for all you know!

ChantillyLace · 06/10/2007 13:15

Oh Lo - now I feel used!!

Lulumama · 06/10/2007 13:15

what has being gay or not gay got to do with it ?

my DH is not a member here, but if we have a parenting issue, he always says.. ask mumsnet

if he wanted to post, i would be really miffed someone would be annoyed, simply because he is a man

zippitippitoes · 06/10/2007 13:15

sad that your dh is too busy for his kids

perhaps he should come on here and ask how to rebalance his life

vacua · 06/10/2007 13:16

Obviously the only way to keep it girls only is to do real life meets and even then can you be 100% sure?

LyraSilvertongue · 06/10/2007 13:16

The only way to make this site women only would be for everyone who joins to have to send in their birth certificate/passport before they are given permission to register. Hardly practical.

Saturn74 · 06/10/2007 13:16

Then perhaps you are posting on the wrong website?

zippitippitoes · 06/10/2007 13:17

i promise not to hit on him

StormieOMartian · 06/10/2007 13:17

2hot

You are behaving in a very passive aggressive manner.

You don't like talking to the men, so the men should leave? This has to be a wind up.

You being uncomfortable with the gender of some of the posters is your problem. Not theirs, and not MNHQs.

FWIW, you DO choose here, whether to talk to someone or not. It's a choice you DO have. Don't moan that you have no choice in order to erode the choice of others.

XratedOtter · 06/10/2007 13:18

i had my cock cut off - will you talk to me now

StormieOMartian · 06/10/2007 13:18

Zippi, I don't

vacua · 06/10/2007 13:18

Some families are so poor they have to share computers, would they be excluded on the grounds that a man might stumble across mn?

LyraSilvertongue · 06/10/2007 13:18

I know a few SAHDs and i can see no reason why they should be kicked out of a parenting site. There's probably not enough of them to make their own 'men only' site worthwhile.

littlelapintofbloodmwahaha · 06/10/2007 13:19

2hot, you must have noticed when you joined that men posted on here?

I think you're just after a scrap...

zippitippitoes · 06/10/2007 13:19

without men there wouldn'r be a parenting site but apart from that i actually like them..shocking but true

harpsicorpsecarrier · 06/10/2007 13:19

good gracious
could you be more unreasonable

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 06/10/2007 13:20

LuLuMama, I totally agree, DP is not a member on here purely because he knows if either of us have a query I will come on and post, I even asked Claire Scott a question for him!

Chantilly!! I'm soo sorry x
