have you felt your cervix during your period, scary? it's like a squashy doughnut, the blood would have to go up over it and re-enter the uterus.
by the way, what do you think happens with towels overnight? ime the blood only comes out when you turn over or move, it's not being dragged out by some capillary action like a tampon (incidentally that's the worst aspect to tmpon-wearing imo).

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/10/2007 21:24

Is this a good price?

AitchyBabesHugz2AllUHunnis · 06/10/2007 21:26

yep, it is with free del. go for it.

ScaryScaryNight · 06/10/2007 21:26

(If you buy from KLAWS website she gets commission)

I have never put my fingers up there. Ever. And most certainly not during a period. Me, squeemish. Very. I cannot even manage to check my coil strings.

will it interfere with my coil strings???

FrannytheDruid · 06/10/2007 21:27

Scary, the mooncup usually sits down near the entrance to your vagina. Some people put it higher up, but it's still inside your vagina, with space behind it. The blood is just inside your vagina when you lie down. It isn't going anywhere up into your internal organs again.

FrannytheDruid · 06/10/2007 21:27

Scary a couple of posters have pulled their coils out while using a Mooncup, I cannot lie to you

ScaryScaryNight · 06/10/2007 21:28

Why do I get a feeling I am an ignorant teenager during sex ed???

ScaryScaryNight · 06/10/2007 21:28

Thank you. It is not for me then. Oh the worry!

FrannytheDruid · 06/10/2007 21:29

No worries LOL. I am fairly ignorant about my cervix and probably many other bits of me. I just get where the Mooncup goes, because I am used to using one.

ibroughtcake · 06/10/2007 21:29

See you almost had me convinced then until the coil thing, I was getting so excited

Sorted!!

FrannytheDruid · 06/10/2007 21:30

Well, I didn't think that would win it any admirers

but I had to tell the truth

it is probably worth switching methods of contraception for, you know. You don't really want bits of metal stuck up inside you after all

AitchyBabesHugz2AllUHunnis · 06/10/2007 21:31

oh you should have a good root about, you should taste and smell it, it's all amazing stuff. and if you did get one, you'd suddenly see that you don't actually produce much blood at all, that it's mostly clear mucus. and NOW you have fainted!

ScaryScaryNight · 06/10/2007 21:32

pppffffuuuuuuuuuuuiiiiiiiiiiH!

AitchyBabesHugz2AllUHunnis · 06/10/2007 21:32

(and certainly don't get the mirena coil as it ups the chance of you having an ectopic pregnancy... )

xxawwhugsHUNniKERMUNKERxx · 06/10/2007 21:33

The blood travels back round your body, tweaking your nipples and flicking your earlobes and shouting unpleasant pixie-type incantations at you if you use a mooncup.

You have been warned.

*NB Some of the above isn't strictly true.

ScaryScaryNight · 06/10/2007 21:33

Too late, the mirena is in there.

ibroughtcake · 06/10/2007 21:33

How does the coil come out with it though?

I really don't want to ask this but is it like the suction effect?

chalat · 06/10/2007 21:34

Aitch, are you joking or can you tell us more about the mirena/ectopic pregnancy thing?

FrannytheDruid · 06/10/2007 21:34

I still haven't seen all this alleged mucus, you know, Aitch. Mine is bloody bloody blood.

ibroughtcake · 06/10/2007 21:35

I think the merina thing is true

My gp wont give me one becuause I had an ectopic before, she's said I have to have a copper one instead

ScaryScaryNight · 06/10/2007 21:35

I cannot begine to imagine the mooncup sucking my coil out like it was a plunger....

AitchyBabesHugz2AllUHunnis · 06/10/2007 21:36

no not joking, sadly. i'll have a root about for some info but suffice it to say that if you're in hospital dying of an abdo bleed and the doc asks your dh if you're on any contraception the doc will go 'uh-oh, i think i know what the problem is' if you're on the mirena.

ScaryScaryNight · 06/10/2007 21:37

Actually, I have a copper coil, is that different?

xXxamyxXx · 06/10/2007 21:37

ok you have offially turned my stomach was with you all the way untill scary horrified me!is it big?as in is it easily insertable and what if it moves/slips would it leak everywhere
