Went for a run and a v long, v cold bike ride today. I've definitely moved a lot. Still.took.almost an.hour to thaw out.

olivesnutsandcheese · 29/08/2020 21:05

Yup, and yesterday. DH was the one who caved

Imonaplane · 29/08/2020 21:06

We are in the South East. It's 22 degrees indoors - nowhere near cold enough for heating and our patio door is open!

Nottobesoldseparately · 29/08/2020 21:06

@Thomasina79

My late dad would have said “if you are cold then put a woolly on” which drove us nuts as children, but which I agree with now. It’s August - put a woolly on!
My dad said the same.

An otherwise very generous man, but fuck me, he was parsimonious with the heat. It was miserable.

My mum, did and does put the heat on, and thank God my dad now agrees that life is to short to freeze your tits off!

Still1nLove · 29/08/2020 21:06

Me, it’s freezing and I’m so annoyed. Guaranteed, 100%, it will be blazing sunshine the week the kids go back to school!

JassyRadlett · 29/08/2020 21:08

On holiday in Inverness (home is southern England).

Hearing is on.

JassyRadlett · 29/08/2020 21:08

Heating is also on!

NotTerfNorCis · 29/08/2020 21:08

Mine's a 'smart' boiler, it came on automatically. House feels too bloody hot right now.

Minnie888 · 29/08/2020 21:09

Who’s got the heating on
JassyRadlett · 29/08/2020 21:11

(I felt vindicated and not a total southern softie by the locals in the bookshop who were also talking about how cold it was and that they’d put the heating on.)

Xenia · 29/08/2020 21:11

Yes, just put it on tonight. It's very cold and I am glad we put it on. It seems like this dreadful awful covid 19 summer is over and we have been robbed of most of a year.

ilikebooksandplants · 29/08/2020 21:16

Nope but we are drinking hot chocolate!

mumwon · 29/08/2020 21:20

(looks in cupboard for hot chocolate) we put heating on (East Anglia) the heavy rain & wind seems to go right thru (DH put it on before I said anything!)

PulpHorn · 29/08/2020 21:20

Me!

House feels damp and I have a young baby. Should take the chill off a bit

BogRollBOGOF · 29/08/2020 21:20

It's been on for an hour today. It was last clicked on in June!

mumwon · 29/08/2020 21:21

& I have a cardigan & a (shock horror) vest

sahbear · 29/08/2020 21:21

I couldn't turn it on in August... Almost no matter what.

leiaskye · 29/08/2020 21:24

Yes. I put ours on earlier this afternoon. It’s 13 degrees here!

Mashingthecompost · 29/08/2020 21:28

I almost posted something like this today. Thermostat has dropped below 20, my legs have been cold today - but DH has a habit of leaving one window open that manages to send a draft through all the house, I think it was just that! I've been yearning to see that little digital 19 on the wall to be honest, so I think I'll wait a bit.

EstuaryBird · 29/08/2020 21:34

My husband has...which is why ?I’m sitting in the back bedroom upstairs with the window open.

willowmelangell · 29/08/2020 21:35

Not yet. Warm pj's, light robe and a throw. A 15lb cat on my lap when he wants warming up.

RednaxelasLunch · 29/08/2020 21:38

ME!

It's actually feeling icy out there

miimblemomble · 29/08/2020 21:46

Not me. It’s raining here in France but still 24 degrees...

LioneIRichTea · 29/08/2020 21:48

Nooo this isa new build and it doesn’t lose its heat (not great in recent heatwave) it’s 23 in here right now, windows all on the latch 🙁

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 29/08/2020 21:49

I can’t do it- it’s August, I try and last until October 1st- maybe late September on the odd day but hell no in August
