Ours is on. And I'm making a bit pot of chicken broth too. I would put the fleecy bedding on but it's so braw and cosy, I can't be arsed moving.

tobee · 29/08/2020 20:03

I did think of this. I've just my yoga & hiit work out (Halo) so am now pleasantly warm. I did have my furry slipper boots on yesterday though. Looking forward to my hot shower now.

Had to sit very still with 2 fans going only a few short days ago

ICriedToDreamAgain · 29/08/2020 20:04

42 degrees here in the Middle East, air conditioning well and truly on as it has been all summer 😫

BikeTyson · 29/08/2020 20:04

Mine had clicked itself on when we got up this morning. First time since March or April I think. Promptly switched it back off though, I’m in denial!

LaurieFairyCake · 29/08/2020 20:05

Had the fire on for 'snuggliness' - though I'm still wearing a long sleeved t shirt

New (rescue) dog has never seen a fire before as he's only 11 months - he's fascinated

Who’s got the heating on
MondeoFan · 29/08/2020 20:07

No way, not in August even if it feels like 5 degrees

gonewiththerain · 29/08/2020 20:07

We’ve got the log burner lit, not a big house so it heats all but the kitchen if you leave the upstairs doors open.
DH has also spent the day chopping logs

Sexnotgender · 29/08/2020 20:08

Fire on Shock it’s freezing here, single glazing 😫

TrickorTreacle · 29/08/2020 20:09

It is cold (12-13ish), but heating goes on in October at the earliest! Put more layers on if you're cold.

ChangeThePassword · 29/08/2020 20:09

Where do you all live that is so cold you need the heating on?

hiredandsqueak · 29/08/2020 20:09

Me too, dd is feeling under the weather so feeling justified.

pigsDOfly · 29/08/2020 20:13

Well hello fellow heating on people.

I'm very surprised there are so many of us who are refusing to sit in the cold. MN always seems to be full of posters who think you've gone to the dark side if your heating is on higher than 15 degrees in the depth of winter.

My heating came on earlier but I've turned it up a bit. It's freezing here. Went out earlier and had to wear a warm coat.

ILoveAnOwl · 29/08/2020 20:13

We've been in a holiday cottage last week and put the heating on. We're now home. I've told everyone to put a jumper and extra socks on and get on with it!

LittleBearPad · 29/08/2020 20:14

Ours has switched itself on.

@ChangeThePassword - SW London.

It’s nippy here!

ChangeThePassword · 29/08/2020 20:16

Wow, just looked at the weather there and it's colder in London than it is here in Scotland. That doesn't happen often at this time of year.

I'll let you off 😂

pigsDOfly · 29/08/2020 20:19

Where do you all live that is so cold you need the heating on?

I'm in the south east and I'm sitting here in a long sleeved normal weight jumper and a long sleeved very thick cardigan, jeans and socks.

If I put any more layers on, as a pp suggests I be very uncomfortable and would find it hard to move my arms.

If it's cold my heating goes on, I don't care what month we're in. Cold is cold.

BetsyBigNose · 29/08/2020 20:22

I'm curled up under a cosy blanket with a hot water bottle!

Wingedharpy · 29/08/2020 20:22

Thermal long-sleeved vest and cashmere cardigan for last 3 days.
No heating on though.

LadyLindaT · 29/08/2020 20:24

Post Covid and mostly feverishly boiling hot, but even I have felt the chill and put the heating on today.

midsomermurderess · 29/08/2020 20:26

This from Dr Philip Lee on Twitter today: Welcome to Britain, a country where the use of home heating systems is not determined by indoor temperature, but by calendar month and a matter of principle.

TokyoSushi · 29/08/2020 20:26

Yes, just to take the chill off - it's freezing!

Whatisthisfuckery · 29/08/2020 20:29

No but I’m bloody cold. I absolutely resent putting the heating on in august so I’ll have to be shivering first. I think I’ll run a nice warm bath in a bit and get into bed. I’m contemplating the winter duvet.

ButterflyRuns · 29/08/2020 20:29

I have!

DownThePlath · 29/08/2020 20:30

Yep. Feels really cold here today (Lincolnshire)

Tallulahs09 · 29/08/2020 20:31

Yes I've had it on for the first time today to take the chill off. Not for long, turned it off before OH got in from work or he'd say I was
Bonkers putting it on in August Grin
