Delbelleber · 27/08/2020 22:32

Jeffrey dahmer

Sparklesocks · 27/08/2020 22:33

Asha Degree has always chilled me.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Asha_Degree

Where did she go? Why did she pack a back? Was she due to meet someone? Did she know where she was going or did she just wing it or get lost?

I find it very upsetting, can’t imagine the pain of her family.

2020iscancelled · 27/08/2020 22:34

Definitely jonbennet- i feel like it was likely the brother. But will it ever be totally solved? Unlikely, especially once the 3 are gone (I know the mother died, not sure about the dad)

tobee · 27/08/2020 22:34

I've always been interested in true crime and true crime podcasts are often fascinating to me.

I've just started listening to a true crime podcast, and while it's fascinating, the main people in the case are adults, and had some pretty unappealing lifestyle choices. But the case in Serial Season 1 still intrigued me. It was the first podcast I listened to. The main players are so young:- the victim was 18 and the convicted offender was, I think 17.

Londonsuffolkmummy · 27/08/2020 22:35

Elsie frost

tobee · 27/08/2020 22:36

*still intrigues me

JacobReesMogadishu · 27/08/2020 22:36

The original night stalker. I’d read a great book on it and just finished a very detailed podcast when he was arrested!

The zodiac killer.

SquidwardTortellini95 · 27/08/2020 22:36

Charlene Downes. Such a horrifically sad case.

hammeringinmyhead · 27/08/2020 22:38

Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon disappearing while hiking in Panama. They found a foot and a camera with mysterious photos on it. Like something out of Blair Witch.

I tend to be interested in the unsolved ones. I would still like to know the real story of Meredith Kercher/Amanda Knox as I was studying abroad myself at the time.

Scentsandsensible · 27/08/2020 22:38

Like you OP James Bulger. I was around the same age as the two boys that killed him and couldn’t get my head around it.

Fred and Rose West too - in fact I’ve literally just finished reading their daughters autobiography.

Austereorange · 27/08/2020 22:39

Following for podcast recommends?

Scentsandsensible · 27/08/2020 22:40

@chilling19 and Hillsborough for me as well. I remember sitting on the floor reading all the newspaper coverage
i am also starting to think my parents let me read/watch far too much news for my age

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 27/08/2020 22:40

James bulger, such a horrible crime

John Wayne Gacy
Ronald DeFeo jnr
Aileen Wuornos
Belle Gunness

hammeringinmyhead · 27/08/2020 22:43

I have to skip anything related to James Bulger now I have a toddler DS. Sad

HolyForkinShirt · 27/08/2020 22:44

Another vote for Jon bennet -

Moonflower12 · 27/08/2020 22:44

I really feel for the West's daughter. She had to endure a lot of finger pointing and gossip. She worked in Morrisons in Gloucester and was such a lovely person.
It affected her so badly she tried suicide a couple of times.

1Morewineplease · 27/08/2020 22:44

The Moors' Murderers

Willowmartha1 · 27/08/2020 22:46

@Thatbliddywoman the Sophie Hook murder still haunts me absolutely horrific.

Burnthurst187 · 27/08/2020 22:46

Not obsessed but D.B Cooper is very interesting. I think he died landing\injured in the wilderness

SquidwardTortellini95 · 27/08/2020 22:48

Also, not obsessed with but one that's haunted me for a long time: Kelly Anne Bates.

Lilyargin · 27/08/2020 22:49

Peta Frampton and Chris Farmer. There is a podcast on BBC sounds (😩) called Paradise about this case and I can’t stop thinking about it.
But I struggle with murder as entertainment. Instead of spending so much money making programmers/firms (money) from it, we should spend money on why it happens/trying to stop it.

lumberingaroundthehouse · 27/08/2020 22:49

A little known case. Suzanne Lawrence, who disappeared in Essex in the late 1970s. Seems incredible a girl could just vanish with barely a glance but I suppose it was the 70s.
