I've always had lines on my forehead but they're becoming quite visible! Is 33 too young to get a bit of botox ?

No

HairyToity · 26/08/2020 21:34

Personally I think we should embrace our natural beauty and not have poison injected into ourselves. So no botox at any age. I'm sure you'll have others come on here with a different opinion.

Dmacka75 · 26/08/2020 21:35

No, lots of people have it in their 20s
it can be used to prevent the lines becoming deeper

kangaShade · 26/08/2020 21:36

My advice - Less Botox. Drink more water. Apply more sunscreen.

WorraLiberty · 26/08/2020 21:38

I saw a programme on TV last night about botox and various other fillers and they were saying that lots of younger people in their 20s were getting botox, as a way to prevent wrinkles appearing when they're older.

The idea was that if the muscles were paralyzed, then wrinkles were unlikely to appear.

The trouble was the experts were worried that as with all muscles, if they're not being used they'll eventually waste away.

But having said that, I would've thought 33 is probably a pretty average age for it.

Someone mentioned micro needling instead?

Place marking, I’m 32 and my forehead lines have been bothering me loads lately I’ve been considering this myself!

NailsNeedDoing · 26/08/2020 21:42

Yes, it’s too young. Save it for when you really need it. Forehead lines are normal.

Phillycheesesteak · 26/08/2020 21:43

Are they as bad as mine name change?!?

OP posts:
Phillycheesesteak · 26/08/2020 21:44

I'm old Grin

I started sooner than that. Probably 29/30. It’s good to relax those forehead muscles a bit as they look unnecessarily ageing. I don’t do it very often, maybe ever 9 months or so as I’m worried about muscles atrophying and looking saggy instead. I think the system works.

Phillycheesesteak · 26/08/2020 21:50

Ouch

Iv been having Botox for 4 years and I’m 30.
Next app is next month and I’ve gone longer then normal with lockdown and I hate it.

WorraLiberty · 26/08/2020 21:52

Does it even get rid of wrinkles though?

I thought it just stopped them getting any worse?

Phillycheesesteak · 26/08/2020 21:52

Will my face be wonky?

OP posts:
Potterpotterpotter · 26/08/2020 21:53

Why would your fave be wonky? Mines never gone wonky Grin

Phillycheesesteak · 26/08/2020 21:53

I thought it freezes then so makes your forehead smoother?

OP posts:
Potterpotterpotter · 26/08/2020 21:53

Face*

Phillycheesesteak · 26/08/2020 21:53

I dont know potter what if it goes wrong?

OP posts:
userxx · 26/08/2020 21:54

@Potterpotterpotter I'm a Botox fan, I love the stuff, no face product is going to achieve the look from botox, but Jesus Christ woman you started at 26???

isupposeitsverynice · 26/08/2020 21:54

i'm a bit older than you and a bit more lined and i'm starting to think about it so yanbu from me. dh is whining it's stupid and pointless but i'm not inclined to listen, i'm starting to feel quite self conscious about it. did you see caitlin moran article about it in the times at the weekend? i'm concerned about finding someone good though, given some of the lip fillers i've seen locally!

Phillycheesesteak · 26/08/2020 21:55

I was going to go somewhere like skin clinic or go on a recommendation

OP posts:
Potterpotterpotter · 26/08/2020 21:55

Do some research and go to someone decent and you will be fine.
Iv never had problems in 4 years

AllNaturalIngredients · 26/08/2020 21:55

No, Botox works best as prevention rather than cure. I started in my late 20s, I’m 37 now. I don’t have any lines and I can still move my forehead muscles. In real life I don’t tell anyone I get it ...but after I get it everyone comments that I’m looking well. I look fresh after it
