What companies have given you really good service recently?

Prompted by the thread about companies using covid as an excuse for poor service.

I'll start with Wellocks at Home. They deliver fruit and veg boxes etc. A couple of weeks ago they accidentally delivered my box to the wrong address. When I phoned to ask where it was a very helpful and friendly lady eventually worked out what had happened, apologised, refunded me and arranged for another box to be delivered - it was there in the porch before breakfast. They may have made a mistake but they put it right so well I didn't mind

Shark Vacuum is also really good. I've had 3 parts break since I brought it and they've replaced them and sent them free next day.

pinkpetal2 · 26/08/2020 17:30

Also Argos they've been good too and boots.

Verbald · 26/08/2020 17:33

Superdrug- my order arrived all bashed up and some items were damaged. I sent a photo and message on messenger and recieved replacements the next day (they did offer a refund or replacement).

CatRamsey · 26/08/2020 17:41

Bank of Ireland mortgage department. I recently remortgaged to take my ex partners name off the deeds. They were super helpful and on one occasion I was going to ring up and ask a few questions about a form they'd sent me and they ended up ringing me that same day asking how I was getting on with the form! It was the same person I'd spoken to before and everything was explained so well and the advisors were professional but not robotic they were still human and made me feel at ease.

Pudding51 · 26/08/2020 17:57

Tesco for providing me with food.
My local loydds chemist for delivery of medications.
Couldn't have survived without them.

LittleGungHo · 26/08/2020 18:09

AO are always excellent
Royal Canine (dog food) sent us a brand new bag within a week as our pooch turned her nose up at the one we bought!
Green King Pubs. I have been to a couple and they feel very safe and well organised.

TheDogsMother · 26/08/2020 18:10

Our local Co-op. Also local independent deli, wine merchant, butcher and farm shop. I will make sure I continue to use them in the future. Our DPD guy is brilliant too.

bestbefore · 26/08/2020 18:16

Trailfinders - cancelled our complicated holiday and have issued a refund on a credit note for the deposit - which has no expiry. No bother at all and pleasant to deal with

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 26/08/2020 18:24

Clark's. Our local shop has done an amazing book ahead service for fittings and promises to return school shoes if DC outgrow them by start of school.

MnS, Boden and Jojo - children's summer and autumn wardrobes sorted quickly with fast no fuss deliveries.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 26/08/2020 18:27

Oh, and Cult Pens. They are an indy doing all kinds of pens and pencils from school kit to high end fountain pens. Always great service.

SBTLove · 26/08/2020 18:29

Local businesses, cafes turning to home
delivery, one man plant business delivering too, hardware shop was fabulous and probably helped our town single handedly paint our houses!!
AO great delivery and installation.

ssd · 26/08/2020 18:29

Lovely to hear all these stories.

Bookaholic73 · 26/08/2020 18:30

So boring..but Domestic and General.
I have insurance with them for my dishwasher (aka my lifesaver) and when I called about a fault they had someone out a few days later, explained everything over the phone and didn’t question my claim.
It was the first time I’ve ever claimed on any insurance so was clueless about what to do, but they didn’t make me feel stupid.

drumandthebass · 26/08/2020 18:34

Zalando. I bought a necklace in March and its coming unravelled so I emailed them and they gave me a partial refund without even wanting to see the fault. I actually wanted a full refund so I contacted them and they sent me a prepaid address label and refunded me the balance immediately upon its return. Excellent service

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 26/08/2020 18:34

Also came here to say AO.com

We had a washer dryer that basically went bang after 2 years use. We approached them as we had a reasonable expectation of it lasting longer and they arranged a partial refund (minus the 2 years use we’d had) which we thought was more than fair in the circumstances as we had had it for a while.

The In Car Safety Centre were also fantastic when a mechanism failed on our child’s car seat and also giving advice on car seat choices, both in shop and by email.

Pashazade · 26/08/2020 18:36

Our local appliances shop. I ordered all my new kitchen appliances back in June when lockdown eased and they have held them all for me and delivered at the drop of a hat when I've needed them. Also if my new dishwasher doesn't arrive on Saturday as anticipated they have already marked the showroom model as mine just in case!

Werk · 26/08/2020 18:43

Local shops here.
Fruit and Veg shop did (and still does afaik) text orders - text what you want, walk down 10 mins later, pay and collect.
Ocado were great for me but I have a pass and have used them weekly for over a decade.
Local bakery/ cafe - sold eggs, flour and yeast when they had become scarce in March/ April.
Local restaurants etc really adapted to takeaway and delivery- usually offering free/ discounted food for nhs staff, the chains just shut up shop and headed for the hills.
My GP was actually great, phone appointment and prescription sent straight to chemist for me to collect two hours later.

I hope people remember the local shops when things return to "normal".

NiceGerbil · 26/08/2020 18:45

Another vote for AO.

They are excellent.

Belledan1 · 26/08/2020 18:47

Next and Marks. Ordered uniform off both. Emailed me when a size came in to stock too very quick. Quick coming and staff at stores so nice and efficient when I had to return some of it.

listsandbudgets · 26/08/2020 18:48

I'm so glad I started this thread. It's lovely to see such positive stories among all the gloom and despondency theres been of late.

Think we are going to need a new dishwasher at some point soon. Sounds like I should try AO Grin

Ao.com are outstandingly good. Also Primark! I went in last week desperate for a dress I'd seen. They didn't have it but phoned every store in Scotland to see if it was there. They then tried Newcastle and arranged to have it transferred to the store where I am. When it came in, they couriered it to me. Incredible service.

SynchroSwimmer · 26/08/2020 18:51

Gatwick Official Long Stay Parking
Premier Inn

Both did brilliant no fuss immediate refunds due to Covid

(Best not to mention Mark Warner Holidays who continue to be shocking...)

Sammilouwho · 26/08/2020 18:52

My local b&m, its the only place I've felt safe shopping in all lockdown, proper one way system, social distancing and everyone is just lovely!

MotherofMigraines · 26/08/2020 18:53

Another vote for Wayfair. I changed my mind about the furniture I had ordered and customer services happily arranged collection and refund. Didn't have to hold for an age to speak to them either. Now awaiting the replacement I ordered...

mummyoneboy19 · 26/08/2020 18:56

The Nappy Gurus! Always super helpful, did their utmost to keep working all through lockdown and I have never had one parcel late from them or any of their associated companies (Kid Collective/Fill Your Pants) Smile
