For me it's lorries in the middle lane on motorways, driving parallel to another. Yes I know they have deadlines, but miles and miles side by side? 😡

Parking on pavements

Not giving way to pedestrians when turning into a side road they are already crossing

Overtaking cyclists when I am coming towards them or they are approaching a blind bend or hidden dip

Not changing their indicator from right to left when turning right at roundabouts (and getting in the wrong lanes)

Not giving you time to overtake on a dual carriageway/motorway and tail-gating

When you move over to let someone join a dual carriageway/motorway then they speedup alongside you and don't let you back into the inside lane

And yes I agree with lorries overtaking each other when one is doing 58mph and the other 59mph. What. Is. The. Point.

IMO anyone using the roads should pay road tax and be insured

Oh that old chestnut. Well if road tax existed (which it doesn't), I pay it twice over for two cars except that I don't pay it for one car because it's a hybrid. Imagine that! I can drive a car on the road without paying "road tax", never mind a bike! So our household pays one lot of "road tax" for two cars and three bikes.

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 24/08/2020 17:50

The way DP will pull up at a roundabout, move off and then start indicating when he’s halfway round.
Indicate earlier you absolute twat.

finished31 · 24/08/2020 17:51

@SimonJT

We went to Diggerland today, had great fun, but oh my the tailgaters. At one point there was someone so close to me that their cars number plate/very front of their bonnet was visible through my rearview mirror.

Generally drivers who lack patience.

I always find you can predict which cars are doing this!
lazyarse123 · 24/08/2020 17:51

Cyclists taxed/insured or not. Why the need to ride 3 abreast having a chat? Also a constant speed of 40 whatever the limit actually is.

dwiz8 · 24/08/2020 17:52

People not moving over when they 100% can to let me in a motorway off a slip road causing me to have to stop on a slip road which is dangerous

Also people who drive inconsistent speeds. On a 60mph road, stuck behind people going 30, then then speed up to about 50, then down to 40, makes it really hard to overtake

QuestionableMouse · 24/08/2020 17:53

@ConstantlySeekingHappiness

People who dawdle along at 30mph on a slip road to join a 70mph motorway.

I seem to get stuck behind people like this often, I don’t think people realise how dangerous it is to join a motorway at such low speed.

And of course tailgating.

Sometimes that's down to the car though. My best friend has a little 1L Aygo and it takes forever to get up to motorway speed.
dshtrjhbh · 24/08/2020 17:53

@Governoress86

Cyclists!
Motor vehicle drivers!
Dugsbollox · 24/08/2020 17:55

Today it was the guy in the left hand lane at the roundabout, who clearly had no idea where he was going lnstead of getting off at the first or second exit, he attempted to go right round. Eejit.

People who don't indicate can get in the bin.

As can those who drive at 40mph regardless of speed limit.

dshtrjhbh · 24/08/2020 17:56

(PS - my message above is not serious. I just get sick of people tarring a whole swathe of the population with the same brush, simply based on the mode of transport they happen to be using. There are idiots using all forms of transport, of course...)

DuesToTheDirt · 24/08/2020 17:57

I should have been more specific. Nothing should be used on roads unless they are insured third party and taxed

Would you include pedestrians in that? They need to cross the road and sometimes walk along it where there is no pavement.

BTW I know a lot of horse people and don't know of one without third party insurance.

woodhill · 24/08/2020 17:57

People who drive or stay in the middle lane deliberately on a road or motorway then expect to be let into a slip road/exit at the last minute - they are too special to queue like everyone else

MoistMolly · 24/08/2020 17:57

People that sit in the middle lane of the motorway at 60mph or less, and people that join a motorway without matching the speed of the traffic already on the motorway.

AuntyFungal · 24/08/2020 17:58
  1. Middle lane(s) motorway drivers.

You are a fucking dangerous nuisance.

  1. People who don’t move over to allow vehicles onto the mw/ duel carriageway.

Again, you are fucking dangerous, especially when the joining vehicle is slow/small engine type.

  1. Lack of awareness of lanes & signals on round-a-bouts.

You are a fucking liability.

Get some refresher lessons or get off the fucking road.

Leafyhouse · 24/08/2020 17:59

When you let someone come past you on a narrow road, and they take AGES to come past you. I've let you come through, you know I'm waiting for you, right?

trappedsincesundaymorn · 24/08/2020 17:59

People who drive for miles on end with the indicator still flashing.

HunterAngel · 24/08/2020 17:59

People who don’t indicate.

People who try to straighten out a roundabout, heedless of the car next to them turning right who has to stand on the brakes just to keep their front wing the shape it started the journey with.

People who get in the lane with the shortest queue, whether it’s the lane they need or not then give verbal abuse to the person who actually got in the correct lane.

RincewindsHat · 24/08/2020 18:00

People tailgating me when I'm driving at the speed limit, then overtaking with much dramatic revving as soon as they can despite the fact they're likely going to save under a minute on their overall journey time. Twats.

Also people who drive in the middle lane on the motorway and steadfastly ignore everyone else even when people are undertaking because the middle lane driver is going so slowly and it's not safe for everyone in the left lane to pull out and go around them...

Hingeandbracket · 24/08/2020 18:01

@BruceAndNosh

Tailgating when there is nowhere else for me to go. You're not going to get there any quicker sitting in my boot
This ^ Also still tailgating the fuck out of me when even your wheezy base model Mercedes/Audi/BMW could just overtake me but you don't have the guts/skill. I am going to be driving at round about the limit - that's what I do - you are welcome to come flying past and disappear into the distance.
cologne4711 · 24/08/2020 18:01

When you let someone come past you on a narrow road, and they take AGES to come past you. I've let you come through, you know I'm waiting for you, right Yes this too! Don't dawdle when you can see I am waiting for you!

BrandyandBabycham · 24/08/2020 18:02

I was told once to drive as if everyone else on the road is an idiot. The trouble is, an awful lot of them actually are! My pet hates are people not thanking me for waiting & people who drive way too fast for the conditions. Oh & people who go when it’s not their right of way. I’m mild mannered normally but behind the wheel I get the rage!

AlwaysLatte · 24/08/2020 18:03

Cyclists who are too far apart to overtake in one go but too close together to overtake one at a time. Lots of bends on the country lanes around here but they're long so you can be stuck behind a pair of cyclists for ages.
Also people who overtake cyclists when there are cars the other side, so big giving them enough room. Or getting g annoyed with me when I want to give them a wide berth.
Also people who assume because you're following the lane markings on a roundabout that you're going left, not straight on. Not everyone wants to cut the corners!

SimonJT · 24/08/2020 18:06

@finished31 I drive a ‘chavy’ car, a grey Civic Type R, so I think some road users expect me to drive like a twat.

AlwaysLatte · 24/08/2020 18:08

And another thing 🤣
When you overtake eg a cyclist or slow moving thing in a 30 limit, someone behind overtakes as well, tailgating you, and assumes you'll go over the speed limit so they can also tuck in front of the cyclist. So dangerous.

Potterpotterpotter · 24/08/2020 18:09

People who dawdle when pulling out onto a main road... you wait behind them forever because they haven’t got the confidence to pull out unless the gap is huge.

And cyclists. They are so bloody annoying.
