For me it's lorries in the middle lane on motorways, driving parallel to another. Yes I know they have deadlines, but miles and miles side by side? 😡

People who never put towels back on rails properly. Or toilet rolls

YeahWhatevver · 24/08/2020 20:57

@AuntyFungal

1. Middle lane(s) motorway drivers.

You are a fucking dangerous nuisance.

  1. People who don’t move over to allow vehicles onto the mw/ duel carriageway.

Again, you are fucking dangerous, especially when the joining vehicle is slow/small engine type.

  1. Lack of awareness of lanes & signals on round-a-bouts.

You are a fucking liability.

Get some refresher lessons or get off the fucking road.

Drivers who lecture but could actually do with brushing up on the highway code themselves.

Vehicles already using the motorway have the right of way. It is up to the vehicle joining the motorway to give way and filter on without causing any trouble.

The Highway Code says that traffic joining the motorway should 'give priority to traffic already on the motorway' and 'adjust speed to fit safely into the traffic flow in the left-hand lane'.

Branleuse · 24/08/2020 20:58

people going all the way round the roundabout in the outside lane. Arseholes. All of them

tobee · 24/08/2020 20:59

@Menora

Yes especially whilst in a car.

Bwlch · 24/08/2020 21:00

People not signalling when changing lanes or when leaving roundabouts.

MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig · 24/08/2020 21:01

Anyone watched those dash cam videos that they put online nowadays? The cheeky fuckers that cut other drivers up who quite rightly rebuke them and then who stop their cars in the middle of the road and get out and pick a fight with the cut up driver? Always men too.

Menora · 24/08/2020 21:11

Sorry I thought this was just pet hates! 😂

tobee · 24/08/2020 21:12

lol!

terriblyangryattimes · 24/08/2020 21:15

People who don't do the hand wave/nod as thanks. People that just raise one finger from the steering wheel are almost as bad.

Drivers who park bumper to bumper against my already parked car. Worse is the one who actually scraped my cars rear corner edging it. Tossers.

Finally, people who don't lower their full beams on dark roads when they're either behind you or coming towards you.

emilybrontescorsett · 24/08/2020 21:28

I think its already been said but I'll echo:
Tailgaters, middle lane hoggers, those who don't have the right of way expecting me to pull over, trying to sneak into the inside lane after deliberately staying in the faster flowing outside lane, no I won't let you in. Drivers who blast their horn at every opportunity, those who drive up my backside when you can see I'm about to reverse back into a space. Dangerous drivers overtaking on bends and expecting others to brake to let you in.

Pleasebeafleabite · 24/08/2020 21:28

You do realise that your fog lights are blinding other drivers because you’re using them in the wrong conditions?

No they aren’t. I’ve driven in heavy rain enough times on the motorway to know that seeing brake lights is much easier than seeing normal tail lights. Once it gets to that stage I put on my rear fog lights. The Highway Code allows fog lights in poor visibility it does not exclude heavy rain in this

emilybrontescorsett · 24/08/2020 21:30

Oh yes, cars with beams that blind you, dip your lights you twat.

Libertylee · 24/08/2020 21:37

Undertaking just to push in front a few cars ahead; appearing as if you’re going straight over on a roundabout from my right so I slow to a stop, only to turn left without indicating; stopping dead on major road to let someone out from side road; those pulling out from side road who block road to force traffic to stop. I could go on....

vintageyoda · 24/08/2020 21:47

People who overtake when I am doing 30mph in a 30 zone enrage me.

Manolin · 24/08/2020 21:48

Drive by kidnappers. They really get my goat.

Manolin · 24/08/2020 21:50

Nannies that get given a car as part of their employment package but do not pay tax on it.

greenforme · 24/08/2020 21:53

FWIW I'd prefer anyone who used the roads to pay tax to do so. If you want to use it, contribute to it. I'd also have anyone or anything that may cause an accident insured to cover it. Buy hey ho, just my view.
Most of these pet hates boil down to bad manners, something else that gets my goat..

@Optimist1

Not acknowledging my kindness in letting them out from side roads.
Yeah this really pisses me off.

Also people, when I'm in the outside lane of a dual carriageway or motorway flashing me to move over. I use a speed limiter on my car and set it to speed limit plus 10%, which is actually 72/73 in a 70. Really pisses me off.

happinessischocolate · 24/08/2020 21:56

People who don't understand roundabouts. So many drivers stop dead at the roundabout despite being able to clearly see nothing is coming and then there's the ones that don't go when they have priority and then do go when they don't Angry

tobee · 24/08/2020 21:58

@emilybrontescorsett

Oh yes, cars with beams that blind you, dip your lights you twat.

I always moan about this but wonder if it's new cars have ridiculously bright lights and they are dipped?

Gingerfish91 · 24/08/2020 22:00

When you pull in to let someone through coming from the other direction and then they do the same 🙄

happinessischocolate · 24/08/2020 22:01

Queue jumpers, when you're on an A road, and the traffic is slow because there's a tractor or bunch of cyclists ahead and some dickhead will try to overtake, it's a QUEUE dickhead

TiptopJ · 24/08/2020 22:01

@Pugdoglife

Those people who drive at 40mph in roads with a 60mph limit (in good conditions) and then continue to drive at 40mph when they reach a 30mph road.
Yep this is my number one pet peeve. It just shows they are not paying attention to the road they're on all
1Morewineplease · 24/08/2020 22:02

Yep, another cyclist hater here.
I despair of their knowledge of the rules of the road.
You’re at a junction, at lights. You’re indicating to turn left and then a Lycra lout( always in Lycra!) decides to overtake you on the inside to go straight on , irrespective of which colour the light is on.

I’ve no idea why cyclists need to wear unflattering Lycra ( yes we can still see your splayed buttocks!!!) when nearly everyone in Europe just wears their own clothes and bicycle clips!

Mountainpika · 24/08/2020 22:06

@madcatladyforever

Here in Somerset not one single person indicates round a roundabout ever. Its a nightmare in rush hour because I have no idea where anyone is going.
Excuse me - I live in Somerset and use my indicators correctly at roundabouts, entering and exiting them, same as I was taught in 1964 when I learned to drive. Follow me somewhere and you'll be smiling and cheering me.
