AIBU to fantasise about it? 😂 honestly, what would you do with that money? I wouldn’t want to live a lavish lifestyle, I’d buy a farm house with shit loads of land for my dog. That’s all I want. Then I’d give up work and concentrate on charity work, writing and dog training. I’d be just pleased not to have to work in nursing anymore.

I just think it would be nice to have some breathing space before the money hits your account. I guess that a lottery employee comes around first to advice you and make sure it's all ok and just generally look after things. They probably need to verify a few things before paying it out as well. If it's a syndicate it could be a bit more complex for example or if it's a very young person they will need more advice maybe?
Anyway, none of this will happen to me so I guess I can carry on dreaming!

Dablikeacrap · 25/08/2020 19:03

I’ve changed my mind slightly.

I’d hire a QC Barrister who handles family law to monitor and respond to an email address that would be the only one my ex is allowed to contact me on regarding our son, and I’d pay said barrister to handle the contact pick up and drop offs in a fleet of luxury cars/helicopters/yachts whilst still claiming child maintenance from him. God he’s be so pissed (he’s a prick and would deserve it).

It’s this sort of bad karma that means an arsehole like him would probably win instead

Stackys · 25/08/2020 19:05

@hamstersarse

If anyone wins tonight, can they at least post back on here please
I was going to say the same thing. If anyone in here wins tonight you have to post it on here, even if you name change to do it.

And that includes those of us who win £2.50 😂

40 million! The pool is nice : check out the art work (picture 6! ) Very different.

The thing I never understand about the very grand houses in 40 million bracket (or even just the 10+ one) is they always seem to be listed with so few pictures. If I'm going to contact an estate agent about the possibility of dropping that kind of money on a house, I want to have seen every room and the grounds and have much more of an idea of what it's like all over. I'm not rocking up to a 40 million pound house to look around on the back of 13 photos! 20 + rooms but we've only photographed six - well, what's in the other 14?

At that price I expect at least one photo for every million pounds.

welldonesquirrels · 25/08/2020 19:15

@Icantreachthepretzels Yes, I've often wondered that too while fantasy mansion shopping on rightmove.

Maybe it's a rich people privacy thing, like there's a limit to what they show online and serious buyers can contact the estate agents for more info?

DopamineHits · 25/08/2020 19:21

I couldn't help doing a quick tarot spread for tonight's draw... I got 9 of pentacles and 10 of pentacles - very promising money cards - and then I got 9 of swords, 4 swords and the tower - basically fear, retreat/hermit, collapse/disaster.

Might skip it...

I was just thinking that must be it: 'no the plebs cannot look at my house' Grin

Muser314 · 25/08/2020 19:28

Or they have under reported its value to property tax department (or council tax, whatever it's called in the UK)

The80sweregreat · 25/08/2020 19:41

The mega mega rich trying to get out of paying for things? Never ! 😀
The council tax on a 40 mill pad would be eye watering let alone everything else.
What do these folk do for a living?

Gertie75 · 25/08/2020 19:59

This would do me, I wonder how long you'd have to live there before you knew your way around it without getting lost. www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/fullscreen/image-gallery.html?propertyId=71630176

LoriesGar · 25/08/2020 20:32

I’ve got this all planned out. DH and I both come from large families and toxic mothers.
So... house for each sibling to an equal amount (difference in foreign exchange rates makes that possible). Two investments of equal value for each sides nieces & nephews (I’ve got 4, he’s got 2).

We’d build a house near the Spanish / French border. I’ve got it all drafted out - four bedrooms, all ensuite, large living / dining kitchen spaces, enclosed courtyard, grey water management and solar power.

Investment fund that delivers returns for charitable donations (protecting capital). I envisage spending an hour regularly on GoFundMe and Facebook making small donations to animal charities, kids fundraising etc

Investment fund to support us indefinitely. Bit of travel (first class, plus private flights for DCats and DDog.

LoriesGar · 25/08/2020 20:34

We’d look after our fathers too, but tie it up so the toxic mums can’t scarper with the dosh

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 25/08/2020 21:18

I would buy the row of ugly houses that sits too close behind my house and knock it down and have a bigger garden and NOT BE OVERLOOKED.

togetsomeperspective · 25/08/2020 22:01

I get quite sad when I don't win these big ones. I rarely enter and if I do I feel I made the effort for nothing.

I mean I would probably be kind enough, to give some relatives I don't even like, some money to make their lives easier. So I am surely deserving Confused

WineAndTiramisu · 25/08/2020 22:20

I won £2.30... not sure how to spend my windfall, any ideas?! Grin

Horehound · 25/08/2020 22:24

Looks like it's Gona be a rollover

Jocasta2018 · 26/08/2020 07:42

I'm a winner!
Two numbers & a lucky star = £3.50
I've only ever won £2.90 before so onwards & upwards.

RozHuntleysStump · 26/08/2020 08:35

I didn’t win anything. Bit pissed off about it tbh.

lyralalala · 26/08/2020 08:43

I really wish they would change their email. Sending an email saying “Exciting news about your ticket” isn’t funny when it’s £2.90.

It should be “good news about your ticket”

Wejustdontknow · 26/08/2020 08:45

I have won £6.90 for 3 numbers and 1 lucky star ⭐️

HashtagMakingMemories · 26/08/2020 09:07

I lost myself £2.50 and lay the blame squarely with you for making me buy a ticket OP!

cultkid · 26/08/2020 09:27

I didnt win and I bought 4

That's the dumbest thing I've done this week

FinallyHere · 26/08/2020 09:35

Well, I didn't win but am not too worried. I'm prepared to wait til Friday to win £126M

Fair enuf.

The80sweregreat · 26/08/2020 09:54

No , didn't win anything.
The house with the pool will have to wait. 😀

cultkid · 26/08/2020 09:58

Ill try again on Friday
