AIBU to fantasise about it? 😂 honestly, what would you do with that money? I wouldn’t want to live a lavish lifestyle, I’d buy a farm house with shit loads of land for my dog. That’s all I want. Then I’d give up work and concentrate on charity work, writing and dog training. I’d be just pleased not to have to work in nursing anymore.

Has anyone else been having problems with the NL Ap lately. It's been like this for most of the last week Shock

Euromillions tomorrow is £109m.
The80sweregreat · 24/08/2020 18:28

Put my numbers on for tomorrow.. 😀
You never know..

Soontobe60 · 24/08/2020 18:33

As well as all the usual family stuff I’d pay the legal fees for the women who’ve been sacked because they’ve stated the biological truth that sex is immutable!

Giganticshark · 24/08/2020 18:46

Hire a full time house keeper. They'd put all my washing away and I'd be the happiest woman alive - swoon-

Dablikeacrap · 24/08/2020 18:47

I’d make sure my son is chauffeured to every contact session in some form of luxury car/vehicle and be as outrageous as possible with it, whilst also continuing to claim the child maintenance that my son is legally entitled to just so I could fuck my ex off.

YourObedientServant · 24/08/2020 18:55

I think I'd work with my local hospital to help fund IVF and other aspects of fertility care and loss.

We have 2 children via fertility treatment with only a small amount of funding from us that we could easily afford. I hate the idea that some people can't try for the children they dream of because they simply cannot afford the treatment.

The80sweregreat · 24/08/2020 19:04

I'd like to support a local charity.
I'd have a few cosmetic treatments. Nothing too drastic.
I'd like my own pool and pool man or woman to do all the cleaning and boring bits! They could have a swim in it once it's done.
A Cleaning person would be nice too. I'd treat them well with tea and biscuits and wages of course!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 24/08/2020 19:10

I'd obviously buy a lovely big house and a holiday home, not mansions as I don't like flashy stuff but one with big rooms, lots of light and plenty of land. I'd sort my family out then start up my business idea. I want a unit in a small craft centre in a local tourist spot to sell locally produced jams, honey, biscuits anything really. Its a dream I've had that I know practically would make no money but I'd like to do anyway Smile

catgirl1976 · 24/08/2020 19:11

Having just been back on site at work for the first time since March and realising how much I really don’t like my job(wasn’t quite as bad from home) YANBU. I don’t play the lottery but I might tomorrow

I’d resign and also buy the big farmhouse with land, get a lid of animals, sort family out and give a good chunk to charity. Then I would potter for a good long while.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 24/08/2020 19:30

I would take some time to process just what had happened to me then I would think about how to share the money out and who to help.

I would keep our house but pay the mortgage off and buy a newer car. I would buy a holiday lodge near the sea (UK) and then think about helping others.

With that amount of money I would help out nieces and nephews with buying property and then put money into Community projects such as a centre for the elderly to attend or respite for parents who have children with disabilities. All free with top notch facilities.

Finally I would get a dog and sign myself up to study for another degree.

The money would buy me freedom from financial worry but I would like to think it would not change me too much.

The80sweregreat · 24/08/2020 19:37

A nice garden would be nice as never had a pretty garden , just functional!
There was a property for sale about ten miles from here for just under 10 million but honestly it is just too big and ostentatious and the only thing I liked was the dance floor and the garden! Not for me at all , but a younger person would love it I'm sure.
I find the bigger the house I less I seem to like them on Rightmove! They are usually sole less or have ' games rooms' and I can't play snooker! 😁

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 24/08/2020 19:55

@Lemonyfuckit

Yes, that's fab. I always said I'd buy somewhere in Britain for holidays, but buy somewhere else in the same place to be rented out at a small rent to a disadvantaged family/couple so they can get on their feet. With £109m that would be 2 or 3 houses/flats. Minimum.

But if you're looking for odd, I always dreamed of doing this: for one week, hire a bus on the route I take to work. It would only let people on from the road I used to live on (it's quite long). I now get it at the beginning of the route, but by the time I get to where I used to live, it's rammed solid and only one or two people can get on per bus. So, for one week, people can get on without any problem and get to work without hassle.

Not sure that applies now, but it's a thought.

But for me, I'd book the hotel we've always wanted to go to to with DP for his big event birthday next year. While I'm in the spa, he can have all the rounds of golf he likes.

And a holiday for me and BFF anywhere he wants to go.

I could spend the lot in a weekend.....

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 24/08/2020 19:56

I could do with 109 million right now 🤔

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 24/08/2020 19:59

Nice house (really nice)
Driver
Set my kids up for life
Take care of my family and a couple of friends
Donate some

GreyGardens88 · 24/08/2020 20:04

I'd buy a farmhouse with land too, in Yorkshire
Nice flat in London, overlooking the Thames
Indulge in some lovely holidays, 5 star hotels and restaurants
And just indulge in my hobbies and interests really!
I certainly wouldn't give anything to family or friends

SimonJT · 24/08/2020 20:12

Its an insane amount of money isn’t it, I can understand why some people go off the rails after a big win.

Does anyone know someone who has had a big win?

I’d pay off my mortgage on my flat, I wouldn’t move as I love my flat and my son is very settled here. I would however create a third bedroom (there is room) so that hopefully I can have ankle biter number 2.

I would quit my main job and go back to playing rugby fulltime. Hopefully I would be able to be signed by a higher league again, but if not I would be happy to remain at my current club. Player welfare in rugby is rubbish, so I would like to start a scheme to improve that.

Open a gym thats fully accessible for people with disabilities. It isn’t something I had really considered before, but my boyfriend has a physical disability and can’t use any gym equipment without assitance. Not only do many gyms need physical changes, PTs need to know how to support clients with disabilities. So I would look into funding/creating some sort of either free or highly subsidised training for PTs.

Get decent and regular theraplay for my son, he only has it at school at the moment as going private would mean losing a day at work every week to get him there and back.

Donate a lump sum to London Friend.

Look into either providing temporary housing to queer people/support schemes currently doing it.

I’d do the usual in giving some people I know lump sums etc, I would pop some money in a trust for my son, but not enough for him to live on as its important to make your own way in the world and work hard.

MrsZola · 24/08/2020 20:21

Sort all my family out, pay off my mortagage and make adaptions for DH (disabled), charities, buy a house on a beach somewhere gorgeous. Keep as quiet about it as I could - no publicity.

RedHelenB · 24/08/2020 20:26

How much would it cost to hire one of those superyaghts for a month or two I wonder,

Windyjuly · 24/08/2020 20:32

Tbh I would start up my own charities and keep them specialised and small so no corruption could set in.

People abuse anything even charities. I'd spread the charity net wide too and try and randomly help over the world.

I'd also love to do surprise charity stuff like when someone popped £50 in envelopes to old people in a supermarket at Xmas...

I would never want a huge mansion. I'd have to live somewhere I felt comfortable at night alone.
Maybe lots of smaller houses? One in the cotswolds, one by the sea... And somewhere larger in London.

I'd probably spend most money on travel and the arts. The best operas, musicals, concerts... Learn to ski....

Visit my charities and make sure the money is being spent as needed.
I do adore lovely clothes, but I wouldn't be going for birken bags...
Buy art... Anything I loved... But mostly my money would go on experiences. I'd like to drive an old Mercedes through the desert (with help team behind me in case of break-down)... Go to Vegas... Go to the jungle with an expert spider handler to keep them Way 😂🕸️🕷️.

Etc etc etc.
My dc would get a more boutique, bespoke eduction. Taught privately how to dance and sing.
Languages.
And whatever they want.... Within reason.

I'd invest it wisely however and once the initial spending was done, the capital would be kept intact. It would be nice in some areas to buy houses purely for tenants who were housing associations...

And who had a hard time renting... I'd make them as beautiful as I could, near good schools... But with strict conditions on keeping them in good order.

It would be nice to try and buy at least one house on a dense estate and do it up, paint it, make it look beautiful....... Plant flowers... Etc.. To lift it up and show others what can be done... I'd also set up scholarship to private schools and unis and drama schools in my df name.

Windyjuly · 24/08/2020 20:36

Dab😂😂 like it..
*also add respite care to my list.

VinylDetective · 24/08/2020 20:36

Buy the house of my dreams - a wreck with huge potential somewhere breathtakingly beautiful. And a London flat. And a house for my best friend. Give our house to a homeless charity. £1 million each to our four adult kids. Invest enough to keep us in luxury for the rest of our lives and give the rest away.

PicsInRed · 24/08/2020 20:40

I bet rightmove has a disproportionate number of hits on expensive homes before a big lottery. 😂

off to do some rightmoving

Wolfgirrl · 24/08/2020 20:45

Oooh can we all post links of the houses we would buy Grin I'm so nosy!

AdoraBell · 24/08/2020 20:51

Support DDs through Uni, they are starting next month and are stressed about money.

Then I would buy houses close to their Uni’s for them for next year.

Buy a house for my nephew, DSis is disabled and would struggle without her adapted social housing flat,

Buy a suitable property with commercial kitchen for a local couple how run a soup kitchen/food bank. They lost their space when the building was redeveloped.

Buy DH the sailing yacht he wants.

I wouldn’t tell DH how much I’d won because his fully funded relatives would expect to have their share. Then I would sit on the rest until I decide how to best use.

rainatnightlove · 24/08/2020 20:53

Christ I'd be happy with £109,000 😅 I wish they'd split the large jackpots into smaller ones so more could win. Nobody in reality actually needs £100 million to live comfortably!
