To think there's no friffing where to buy a big appliance!

Can anyone help? Sad

Does anyone know where you could click and collect a tumble dryer?

Every company I've searched has a 7-7 delivery policy which just doesn't fricken suit.

All I need is a retailer that does click and collect.

Apologies the title should clarify off the shelf!

Currys - click and collect from store.

halcyondays · 21/08/2020 15:28

You can sometimes pay more to get a shorter delivery window, or for Saturday delivery if that’s any good. I think Currys do this.

chickenyhead · 21/08/2020 15:28

AO have always been fantastic in my experience

Topseyt · 21/08/2020 15:30

AO can often deliver next day. If not then Currys.

LittleBearPad · 21/08/2020 15:31

John Lewis - you can specify a delivery date

FunnyItWorkedLastTime · 21/08/2020 15:35

Is the problem that you can’t be in all day? Could you have it delivered to a neighbours driveway/garage? (Buy them a box of chocs for the inconvenience).

I think AO let you pay extra for a tighter delivery slot, 2 hours I think.

Montybojangles · 21/08/2020 15:36

John Lewis does 2 or 4 hour delivery windows (at a cost), as do AO for an extra charge. I used AO recently, as they would also take away the old one as long as I’d put it outside one collection day.

Herdwick · 21/08/2020 15:37

Any local independents you can get one from?

HariboLectar · 21/08/2020 15:37

Do you have a Euronics nearby, they're usually very helpful.

WrongKindOfFace · 21/08/2020 15:39

No local electrical shops? Do you not have a Euronics store locally? www.euronics.co.uk/store-finder

Flynn999 · 21/08/2020 15:39

Argos will do click and collect

FunnyItWorkedLastTime · 21/08/2020 15:39

It’s 4 hour slots if that’s any help.

Thanks guys.

A lot of these places have been investigated and dismissed due to time slots not suiting.

I'm between two seaside holidays heading home now need to dry some stuff before heading off on Sunday morning.

And there'll be no one in our house after1pm tmow - so our time slot is very specific!

Euronics I will investigate thanks for that tip.

Ne8ther currys nor argos near me appear to offer lick and collect.

Is there anywhere properly local? My washer broke. Phoned the local place and bought a new one over the phone, which they were happy to deliver and fit on the one day I could nip out of work. Called me a few mins in advance so I could pop home. Always buy local where possible!

BrieAndChilli · 21/08/2020 15:51

Can you not go to a curry’s and buy one off the shelf? Why does it have to be click and collect?

FunnyItWorkedLastTime · 21/08/2020 15:52

Phone your local Curry’s and ask a human being?

Yes, if Euronics no good try ringing Curry’s. They used to have some items to take away on the day.
titchy · 21/08/2020 15:54

Can't you go to a launderette?

bungaloid · 21/08/2020 15:56

I guess most shops don't really hold much local stock nowadays, but I could be wrong. I'd do everything possible to avoid giving Curry's any money, but everyone has their own personal grudges against companies.

lifecouldbeadream · 21/08/2020 15:56

Launderette all the way- massive machines- much quicker!

minnieok · 21/08/2020 15:57

Try an independent store, google independent appliance store in your town/city. Ours was super obliging and I'm upset I can no longer use them due to moving away.

Derekhello · 21/08/2020 15:57

Yes Curry’s do, I wouldn’t recommend AO.

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 21/08/2020 15:58

Are there any smaller independent shops near you? At the beginning of lockdown my washing machine and dishwasher both died and I was only able to replace them because our local hardware shop had started to do click and collect.
