Every wall covered in Kate Forman fabric (apart from the expense at £90 a metre)?

Not what I would have chosen, but I can't see the issue about living with it frankly. In a new built, it will look awfully tacky but who cares.

If you have nothing better to do, or can afford to employ someone to redecorate, go for it.
If you are short of time, and rather splash on holidays and activities (as I would), there's nothing wrong with it.

Just please, please, no grey. It would look awful - but you are the one living there

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 21/08/2020 15:18

The walls and bed are good. Ditto the tall boy.

The art is beyond wrong for the room. Far too small and dwarfed by everything else. It looks like an ill thought out afterthought. That wallpaper / linen needs big pictures to cope with the scale of the print.

[quote HexyAndIKnowIt]Not a dolls house, it's been done by an interior designer:

The photographs on that page are awful, they make the place look so drab when I'm sure in real life it isn't.

I could live with the wallpaper or the bed, but not the wallpaper and bed combo - it's a bit much for my tastes!

burritofan · 21/08/2020 15:19

Ooh, yes. I’d keep the walls, furniture and floors, ditch the naff artwork that looks like it came from a shabby chic catalogue.

To be honest I’d love a house that was entirely wallpapered (yes, I know, OP: it’s fabric) – not feature walls but all the walls. I looked into the cost of doing it though, with my preferred wallpapers, and it would cost approximately fifty thousand gazillion trillion umpteen pounds. Grey paint it is! (Not really that last part I’m not a monster.)

Jente · 21/08/2020 15:20

The bed is gorgeous but the wall looks like it's come down with measles.

YesINameChangeEveryDay · 21/08/2020 15:20

It's a bit too busy for me. I wouldn't find it relaxing.

TatianaBis · 21/08/2020 15:20

I like the house generally, similar colours to my house. Hate the loo/wet room brick extravaganza. Don’t like exposed brick full stop, but that looks like a Victorian murder scene, and impossible to clean.

Herdwick · 21/08/2020 15:21

OP - it's not wallpaper it's fabric.

MN - do/don't like the wallpaper

Honeyroar · 21/08/2020 15:22

I actually don’t mind it. The signs and the furniture are all awful though. With more understated bed and chest of drawers it would look much nicer. It suits that kind of house. Painting it grey would be awful, sorry.

honeygirlz · 21/08/2020 15:23

i love being cozy, so i'd be fine with it for a few years.

I could live with it but it's not my taste. I'd never choose it as it has a very trying to be old traditional style b&b vibe with no actual person taste. If it was there when I moved in I could cope with it for a while at least.

I'd definitely remove the signs and change the pictures and mirror and particularly dislike the candles on the wall.
while I think the bed and the drawers are dark (which I wouldnt change or paint because it would ruin them but I don't like the colour) with the walls I like them as pieces of furniture especially the drawers.
I don't like the chairs in that place either.
I don't like the fabric it feels very trying to be Victorian.

I'd probably also put the plant on the drawers if it was real and get rid of the blue pot, If it was a fake plant then it can fuck off too!

Honeyroar · 21/08/2020 15:24

The bathroom is awful. I hate it!

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 21/08/2020 15:25

I like it and the bed!

Strugglingtodomybest · 21/08/2020 15:26

I would never choose it, but I could definitely live with it having lived with far, far worse.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 21/08/2020 15:27

The shower room instantly reminded me of Auschwitz Confused All the rest is lovely.

Devlesko · 21/08/2020 15:31

Not to my taste but at least it's not boring sheeple grey Grin You could always paint it a nice colour.

Vivi0 · 21/08/2020 15:31

The bathroom is awful. I hate it!
I feel like I’d be constantly on the lookout for spiders whilst trying to have a shower.

Honestly, both the bedroom and the bathroom make me anxious.

lightyearsahead · 21/08/2020 15:33

Only take the house if you can buy the bed!

Honeyroar · 21/08/2020 15:34

I just looked at that bathroom and thought how do you clean that brick/stop it going mouldy.

Strugglingtodomybest · 21/08/2020 15:35

Good god! I've just seen the bathroom. No, no, no. Whoever mentioned Aushwitz had it spot on.

feistyoneyouare · 21/08/2020 15:35

I like it! (the bedroom, I mean) Mind you, in practice I would probably lose the wallpaper as pictures would get lost against it. Maybe I'd keep it on just one wall. Love the bed!

Bathroom's quite funky too imho. But then, I have offbeat tastes in home decor and styling and not many people tend to like the same things I like. Grin

FlamingoAndJohn · 21/08/2020 15:35

So, OP, why do you ask?

allfurcoatnoknickers · 21/08/2020 15:35

I like the wallpaper and the bed, not so keen on the prints and covers. But then, I love a period house and I'm a maximalist, so this is right up my alley.

feistyoneyouare · 21/08/2020 15:36

...although just as this was posting I caught sight of the Auschwitz comparison and that's now put me right off the bathroom. shudder

allfurcoatnoknickers · 21/08/2020 15:36

Sorry, wall fabric.
