To politely knock on the floor?

Our downstairs neighbours are having very loud Geriatric Sex, and have been for ages.

I'm pleased they're having fun, but I'm concerned someone might break a bone.

God! Don't bang on the floor! The shock might send one of them into spasm and you'd have to go and rescue them!

Jenasaurus · 21/08/2020 01:18

Its OK, weve finished now

@draughtycatflap Grin

I don't think that knocking on the floor can ever be polite. Would be better to go downstairs and tap on their window.

peachpuppy · 21/08/2020 01:51

@WinWinnieTheWay To be fair, having loud geriatric sex in a mutually shared space can't ever really be polite either Grin

BetterEatCheese · 21/08/2020 01:54

Put on a sex scene very loudly on the tv!

WinWinnieTheWay · 21/08/2020 01:55

@peachpuppy

I was being silly, I don't really think tapping on the window is a good idea!

Shining a torch through it would be the best thing to do...

mangomcjango · 21/08/2020 02:01

@WinWinnieTheWay Maybe actually just climbing in through the window? Might as well go the whole hog!

mangomcjango · 21/08/2020 02:04

(so to speak) Blush Grin

FuckwitMcGee · 21/08/2020 02:06

So many perverts think IABU Grin

OP posts:
WinWinnieTheWay · 21/08/2020 02:16

@mangomcjango that would probably stop them.

mangomcjango · 21/08/2020 02:17

@WinWinnieTheWay or, in a very unfortunate circumstance, encourage them ... BlushGrin

WinWinnieTheWay · 21/08/2020 02:20

I didn't think of that. Dirty old buggars. Op should report it to the police.

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/08/2020 02:20

30 years in housing here. There is no way to politely knock on a floor, wall or ceiling.

Please please everyone stop.

mangomcjango · 21/08/2020 02:27

The real question is how @FuckwitMcGee can know they're geriatric without being able to see them ... maybe we have a secret dirty bugger in our midst Grin Grin

jessstan2 · 21/08/2020 02:30

How do they do it differently to if they were not geriatric? I'm 70 and intrigued.

mangomcjango · 21/08/2020 02:31

@jessstan2 I'm guessing the false teeth launching at the ceiling?

FuckwitMcGee · 21/08/2020 02:36

No, @mangomcjango, I'm not a filthy beast! Our neighbours have been living downstairs for many years now, I know them very well.

I know them more intimately than I ever wanted to now. They have never made such a racket before.

OP posts:
mangomcjango · 21/08/2020 02:37

@FuckwitMcGee Oh you know them, that's so much worse !! Enjoy looking them in the eye tomorrow morning hahaha -- it's like a walk of shame without any of the good parts Grin

DaisyYellow · 21/08/2020 02:38

I thought the proper response was to clap and cheer when they finish.

DaisyYellow · 21/08/2020 02:42

On second thoughts this is Mumsnet, better log it with police.

mangomcjango · 21/08/2020 02:43

@DaisyYellow bwahahahaha don't forget to also get some legal counsel and sue for emotional distress Grin

Yeahnahmum · 21/08/2020 02:46

Knocking on a floor will never. Ever come across as polight 😅
