Just wondering how many actually believe that?

YABU = He is on a camping trip

If he says he's camping then the one thing you know for sure he is absolutely not doing is camping.

ParlezVouzWronglais · 21/08/2020 01:06

He does disappear off radar quite a lot doesn’t he.

herecomesthsun · 21/08/2020 02:12

Carrie on camping

Rosalisa · 21/08/2020 03:02

One of the biggest privately owned superyachts in the world was spotted in the firth of forth yesterday.

Just saying.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 21/08/2020 03:29

Normally I would say that prime ministers are entitled to their holidays given the immense pressure they are under. But Boris hasn't been present for most of this year.

This has been an extraordinary time for the UK and leaders need to lead in a crisis. When C19 was starting to become an issue BJ disappeared, didnt attend COBRA meetings and didn't reassure the public.

If he is still suffering from the after effects of C19 he needs to say so and step aside whilst he recuperates. Is there even a deputy prime minister?

giggly · 21/08/2020 04:17

He’s disappeared up his own arse. No idea where Carrie and the baby are though Wink

The80sweregreat · 21/08/2020 05:01

Daily mail has tracked him down in a ' bell tent ' in Scotland!

borntobequiet · 21/08/2020 05:53

exhausted by his own nonsense
Genius.

ChavvySexPond · 21/08/2020 06:02

Camping in the midges that Scotland is famous for in August...in a bobble hat?!

SarahBellam · 21/08/2020 06:16

Of course he’s not on a camping trip. He’ll be holed up at one of his mates’ castles somewhere. Prick.

DramaDromedary · 21/08/2020 06:19

You can't function properly without a break, especially with a new baby.
This sort of thing pisses me off. As if we’re supposed to think Johnson is up four times a night, helping Carrie rock the baby back to sleep and changing nappies. Having a baby won’t have impacted him in the slightest. Why be so naive?

DramaDromedary · 21/08/2020 06:20

Have we all forgotten he's had a baby that is now probably 4mths old and is in the sleep regression phase...
And another one! Come ON!

MinecraftMother · 21/08/2020 06:23

Bell tent is right...

midnightstar66 · 21/08/2020 06:25

Someone has just thrown up the £40 Asda bell tent for show there. They've not even half tried to put it on even ground or erect it properly 😆

Wecandothis99 · 21/08/2020 06:35

Laughing that people think he didn't have Covid and was in the Priory instead! Same people pulling down 5g masts I assume. There must be other ways to fill your time!!!!

latticechaos · 21/08/2020 06:40

A bell tent pitched in the garden of the holiday home.

Do you know, I don't give a shit.

He is PM. Either take paternity leave or show up and do the job. He can have all the paid support he wants. No PM can do the job properly part time.

Tony Blair managed when they had Leo.

Don't play the doting father card, he denied the existence of at least one of his children.

DramaDromedary · 21/08/2020 06:54

@latticechaos I completely agree. He DOES have all the support “he” needs (given that, like many fathers of his ilk, he will be taking absolutely no responsibility). That’s what I’m saying. (And in his defence, I don’t think he is playing the doting father card- naive MNers are doing it for him, and that upsets me!)

latticechaos · 21/08/2020 06:58

I haven't had a fucking holiday this year.

I don't begrudge other people one, but I am making an exception for Johnson who imo has done half a job on this pandemic.

Did his hero Churchill sod off on a faked up camping holiday during the war?

I want an old-fashioned workaholic PM please.

I am agitated by this I tell you!

The80sweregreat · 21/08/2020 07:28

I know it's the mail , but the comments about the tent and his special hat were amusing. Not too much love out there overall. The bell tent doesn't look that great and the fact it's close to a proper cottage with indoor loos .. .. you just know that Carrie and baby haven't been near that tent! Maybe a quick peek. Don't blame her to be fair.

FinnyStory · 21/08/2020 07:31

I don't think it matters where he is on holiday but it does matter that they feel the need to lie about it. What are they doing that means they "need" to lie?

It's easier than it's ever been to communicate, no matter where he is and yet we've heard almost nothing from our Prime Minister through the biggest crisis we've faced in a generation and hugely important economic negotiations that he caused and ran away from right at the start . The fact that he abandoned schools and pupils during this exam fiasco is just the icing on the cake.

Either he's up to the job and needs to do it or he's exhausted/ill/absorbed in parenting/just bored with it all and needs to step aside, so someone else can do it.

Those DM pics, are they real? Are they something that's been set up for the benefit of the press or have the press set them up?

eaglejulesk · 21/08/2020 07:49

He's on annual leave, to which he is perfectly entitled.

Really, in the middle of a pandemic and the associated economic crisis? The rest of the world's leaders seem to be doing the job they are paid to do - you know, leading their country in its time of need.

StealthPolarBear · 21/08/2020 08:03

Jux come back! :)
I too want an old fashioned workaholic PM. nonsense about him being 'entitled' to annual leave, what next, should he claim overtime and log meanies with HR. He's the leader. He doesn't have to be at his computer from 8.59 to 5.01. He has to lead and as far as I can tell he isn't.

Someone asked about deputy pm. When he was ill that was essentially Raab as foreign secretary wasn't it? I don't know if that's the way it usually is (foreign sec as deputy PM) or whether Raab was least incompetent.
We all know which unelected fan of privatisation is really running the country anyway, he just sometimes changes puppets.

Mummyoflittledragon · 21/08/2020 08:09

It would be interesting to know where the security are staying. Surely they can’t have been left alone. PMs and former PMs are given round the clock security. This looks more like a PR stunt and they’re actually staying somewhere else. Perhaps they used the cottage for the day a few times, sat in the tent. Then went to the real place they’re staying.

IpanemaSunshine · 21/08/2020 08:27

From your list Finnystory I’d say he’s bored with it all. Cummings is running things anyway.

And as if anyone, even Mail readers, are going to believe the bell tent story. If they are going to make things up, at least make it credible
