Just wondering how many actually believe that?

YABU = He is on a camping trip

YANBU = He is not on a camping trip

@Whiskeylover45

Of course not. The "tent" was far too pristine to have been camped by the sea for a week before the fail were clearly tipped off. Funny how the just found them after the roar of pwople asking where he was due to the exam crisis Two days after the press "found them" he needs to leave fue to the danger. Aye rights. It has cummings arogance all over it.

PM buggers off to expensive hotel after shouting off about staycations. Cummings decides: you know what we need to do during this latest hoo har of the plebians exams, we need him to be seen as one of the people and to lead them in taking staycations to get the economy back up and running. There is a wonderful place in applyby, if one can call it wonderful. Its cheap really but quite comforatble. My cousin ten times removed stayed there once in 2004. We'll get you boris to stay there two days, stay at your hotel before obvs, well tip.off the papers annonomously. Day after you can leave because of the danger to your family. Two days in the arse send of scotland in a 1,500 per week house will defo tell the people you are one of them. I know the midges old chap but really you don't want me going public about you know what...

If people genuinly think he has been staying there this past week they are beyond deluded and thick. The proofs there. The fail, their biggest supporter, just happened to find him. The tent is pristine despite being next to the sea in the highlands for a week. Grass around it isnt flattered after a week of staying there, all standing up which indicates its just been put up. Camping in the highlands during midey season with a small baby? Really? And ok people says he hasnt stayed there rather in the house. Why have the tent there at all.

They dont even try to hide it anymore. Any why would they? People seem to swallow his bullshit so easily

As much as I detest him, I don't think he can really be blamed for thinking/knowing the people will swallow his lies and buffoonery.

Look at the £350 million brexit bus, people believed that. He got brexit through and a majority in the house of commons, all based on lies. He knows people are gullible.

So a quick photo in a field somewhere sold as camping in the Highlands will fob them off no problem.

I think there's a big swathe of people in the UK who are mainly just thick.

Loving how any criticism of Johnson makes you either an intolerant leftie or a nasty SNP indy type.

Because it can never be that many of us are politically middle-of-the-road types who are sick to death of the antics of Johnson and his cronies.

Quite. Even my 77-year-old mother, a lifelong, card-carrying Tory, will eye-roll with the best of them at the latest nonsense from Johnson, Cummings and the like.
Peregrina · 24/08/2020 10:44

That's why I'm angry at being let down.

I am glad to see that someone is. Instead of the sycophancy we get from some posters when yet another f* up is revealed and it's oh so wonderful.

Eve · 24/08/2020 11:27

@igot20joe

The shadow is completely normal, as well you know.

This thread is bizarre. The tolerant left out in force to pile ridiculous accusations on a baby and its mother. Real classy.

... as like many others I am fast becoming very intolerant right and as someone said described perfectly above I'm a politically middle-of-the-road type who is sick to death of the antics of Johnson and his cronies.

..I am sick of the lying , self serving, double standards and will not vote for this party with the current bunch in charge.

Some people have an extremely limited and psychologically revealing view on life.

@StoorieHoose

They are playing the SNP bad card blaming then for leaking the location to the Daily Mail therefore making it dangerous for a unionist pm to be in Scotland with raging mad mental indy folk
If they really believe that, they need to explain why he bothered to go to Scotland in the first place. On the face of it, if he genuinely thought he was in danger, it made no sense whatsoever to go to Scotland at all. There are plenty of lovely camping spots all over the UK, with the added bonus of being midge-free.
latticechaos · 24/08/2020 19:43

I confess I did think he deserves a midgey holiday Grin

Grandmi · 24/08/2020 19:53

latticechaos...agree but hope the baby hasn’t been bitten!!

Me too. Not the baby or mother of course, just the PM.
eddiemairswife · 24/08/2020 20:26

Do midges get in the house? Are they still active during the night?

bettsbattenburg · 24/08/2020 20:34

They are mostly crepuscular and yes, they do get in houses.

SabrinaThwaite · 24/08/2020 21:05

Mostly crepuscular, but the nasty wee bitey things can get you at any time of day. Remember walking up the big hill behind Ullapool on a windy day thinking I’d dodged them but they were waiting for me at the top.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 24/08/2020 21:12

The idea that Johnson and his family are at risk camping in quite literally the middle of nowhere, in a country where the announcement of his presence would be met with widespread total and utter indifference is baffling. If special branch/Mi5/the Met can't protect him in a place where you can literally see everything and anything approaching from miles around...

It's total bullshit. Completely staged and managed PR exercise to give the impression that he's actually indulging in something that normal human beings do, before pissing off on his criminal buddy's superyacht as intended all along.

itsgettingweird · 24/08/2020 21:47

What was the point of the tax paid for security team?

toastmeahotcrossbun · 24/08/2020 22:41

I can kind of see that security might have been more problematic there considering you could approach by air or sea. That's the only part of the story that rings true!

According to today's daily mail ( 25th) Boris wants to quit in 6 months!

PerkingFaintly · 25/08/2020 14:45

Boris wants to quit now.

But I can imagine him sticking around till just after the transition period, to claim to be the "man who got Brexit done". Then fucking off leaving everyone else holding the baby.

Literally as well as figuratively.

merrymouse · 25/08/2020 14:46

Apparently he's concerned for his and his family's safety and they're flying back to London.

I think its more likely that they are just having a truly awful holiday.

toastmeahotcrossbun · 25/08/2020 14:52

According to today's daily mail ( 25th) Boris wants to quit in 6 months!

What's the point then of making us put up with 6 more months of his dreadful uselessness. Just to cock things up even more over Brexit? Maybe he's trying to make history books as the worst PM ever

He'll stay until we're fully over the cliff edge. Currently we're teetering on the edge. He wants to make sure his successor can't pull us back from the edge before he goes.

I'm sure you're right FatCatThinCat but what's in it for him?

eddiemairswife · 25/08/2020 15:20

He seems to be in Devon painting machinery.

PerkingFaintly · 25/08/2020 15:22

Teetering over the cliff-edge of what?

We're already falling from the clifftop of Brexit. That's irreversible. We just haven't hit the ground at the bottom yet.

What needs done in this period is putting up the parachute for the softest landing, and arranging the emergency services to meet us at the bottom and the transport to get away from drop-zone.

That's actual real work, and no one in this government, Johnson or otherwise, has actually done it.

Oh, and by the way, all the time we're oogling at the spectacle of Johnson's tent and infidelities, we're not talking about this. Which is probably just as some of the government would like.
