Well there’s now photos of them all hiking in Scotland. Boris has the baby (slightly lop sided) in a baby carrier /sling thing.

Bullshit has he been hiking dressed like this.

In fairness, I wouldn't expect a greater level of competence in adjusting the fit of a baby carrier than he's brought to running the country in a global pandemic. I could believe that's his approach to spending half an hour walking a wee bit along the coast and back while one of his staff carried the rucksack.

The photos do look plausibly like they could be Applecross - or anywhere along that coast for 100 miles each way! And yes, they could well be not far from a road. I'm disappointed there aren't any more panoramic shots - Duncaan in the background for instance would establish he was there beyond doubt (incredibly distinctive shape). But I am pretty sure from the photos that he is on the West Coast of Scotland (I have rellies up there). Where, and whether the "hiking" actually involved any significant effort on his part are more open to question.

The super yacht built for Putin was in the Forth at the beginning of the week, then in the Moray Firth. My dad’s a harbourmaster, and said there was A LOT of security around it. It’s either someone super rich, or important on it.

Absolutely typical of the sort of shirts my dad used to wear every summer when we went up to that bit of Scotland! (Says more about Boris' age and social class than anything else, to be honest - quite a lot of my contemporaries at university wore those kinds of shirts while hiking/climbing).

I mean, yeah, the idea that he was camping was wildly implausible... but the idea that there's some vast conspiracy going on and he wasn't in Scotland but was in fact, I dunno, sunning himself on a Russian oligarch's yacht seems a bit far-fetched.

Hopefully he's writing his resignation somewhere

He won't resign now but I bet he will come the new year once Brexit is wholly over the line and everyone is well and truly fucked off with covid, schools reopening, the recession, and whatever else is still in store for 2020.

With the current rumours flying around Twitter I think midges are the least of his concerns.

I have no doubt that he's likely to resign in the next year since it's clear he has several strings to his bow. What form those strings may take is something only the tabloid press are likely to speculate on of course.

And he'll probably want to spend time in his role as father.

Seems like the midges aren't the only thing biting him on the arse.

The shirt is the only plausible bit of that photo. In proper hiking country, that's exactly what almost all men of his age would be wearing.

The photos are really weird, and are interestingly timed.
