To be a pissed off with personal trainer?

I know this is a massive first world problem, but I’m trying to work out if I’m being over sensitive or not. I’ve worked with this PT for two years. All fine. Obviously when lockdown down happened and the gyms shut the sessions had to stop but she messaged me and said she’d be in touch as soon as everything reopened and she was back up and running. She then disappeared totally from social media, despite having been a prolific user beforehand for months. I get it, it was a tough time for everyone.

Then in July she reappears on Facebook announces she’s back and will be in touch with all clients to arrange sessions within a week, but I hear nothing. So assume because gym openings were pushed back till August in Wales that was why. Gyms reopened last week and still hear nothing. So assume she’s not back and when I’ve been in the gym she’s not been there.

Today I log into Instagram and see she’s actually been back training clients for the last week and hadn’t been in touch with me! I feel a bit cross to be honest. Firstly I still have sessions outstanding from before lockdown and secondly forgetting about a loyal client seems a bit shit does it not? WIBU to get in touch and ask what’s going on? I’m torn between that and thinking PTs are ten a penny and why should I chase her if she doesn’t value my custom?

I dunno I would cut her a bit of slack.

I think it's been really hard for PTs (I follow mine on line my old one) and she's been doing like zoom classes for free but also zoom training paid.

She's gone into detail about the hard work she's doing to get Covid ready maybe yours hasn't communicated so well.

Also I think we do build a personal relationship with our PTs it's quite intense the training but also the conversations you have and it's like proper one on one - so I can see why it's pissed you off

BIWI · 18/08/2020 14:39

@Rhine

She says she that she’s only been back a few days (not true as she had clients in last Monday)

TBF - that is only a few days!

BIWI · 18/08/2020 14:40

I think you've become a bit overly-emotionally invested in this 'relationship' - you're not really being fair on her, I don't think.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 18/08/2020 14:40

Rhine, I'd be naffed off too. In fact I was naffed off at the beautician, even tho I hadn't paid in advance. I think it's a bit of a cavalier attitude towards your customers. I am much more proffessional in the dealings I have with DH's customers, as most of that stuff falls to me. Maybe we just expect more than other people? I don't think we're wrong though, and I deliver better myself ;)

DeeTractor · 18/08/2020 14:43

If this is causing you so much angst then ask for a refund and take your business elsewhere.

ChickenyChick · 18/08/2020 14:48

just contact her and ask when she can fit you in? easy, no?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 18/08/2020 14:48

I don't get the impression that OP is lying in a darkened room with a wet facecloth over her face to recover. She is allowed to be pissed off, and post on here. Tis the internet, they can't touch you for it. Grin

Newkitchen123 · 18/08/2020 14:49

I've only read your posts not the whole thread but I don't get why you couldn't just message her in the first place. Something along the lines of Hi PT I see that sessions are allowed again now, next week I can do XYZ @ 9am etc. Let me know if that works for you.
I don't see the problem

Rhine · 18/08/2020 14:49

Not as easy as it is to read the thread first before commenting 😉 Duh.

Why don't you RTFT?
Rhine · 18/08/2020 14:51

I genuinely don’t understand why people comment without reading the thread properly first?

Fgs be an actual mature adult and just contact her. What is with this immediate reaction to get 'pissed off' before even actually doing anything Hmm. You haven't even contacted her.
For all you kmow she could have contacted you and you didnt get the message somehow/ she sent a mass communication and just forgot you unintentionally.
Grow up op.

DeeTractor · 18/08/2020 14:53

They probably don't understand all this hand wringing and assumptions that she must be intentionally ignoring you/ trying to steal your money/ hates you, but here we are.

Newkitchen123 · 18/08/2020 14:53

Because then I'd be reading other people's opinions instead of the facts.
I read your posts to establish the facts, then I did my reply.
Why didn't you read my whole post?

Apologies OP this was not directed at you
MotherPiglet · 18/08/2020 14:55

Ask when you can book in for your sessions.

Let it go.

Polnm · 18/08/2020 14:59

Maybe she doesn’t like you very much. You are not coming across well in here

FGS learn to read a thread properly before commenting in future.

Well now I am certain that she doesn’t like you. Duh is for teenagers and blaspheming at people and telling them to read the thread (fgs) is just showing a very unpleasant person

"Gosh there are a lot of Simpletons on MN today aren’t there?

Read the thread before commenting. It’s resolved."

They weren't wrong though, were they? It was still your first reaction to come on here with conspiracy theories rather than just, you know, speaking to her.

jeremypaxo · 18/08/2020 15:03

This is not a big deal and you are massively over reacting. Cut her some slack. Presumably she's not earned much/any money during lockdown so perhaps she has had other things to worry about besides scheduling in your particular remaining sessions. Of course you are technically within your rights to have them sooner rather than later but showing some understanding and flexibility will go a long way. God knows we could all do with more of that during this Year of Shite.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/08/2020 15:04

So many posters just wanting to make themselves feel better by being cuntish. Ignore them OP.

And there is one rude and offensive drama llama

Who might that be?

I’m an unpleasant person for telling people to read a thread properly before commenting with now unneeded, and in some cases downright rude advice? OK then. I wouldn’t go into a thread all guns blazing without having read it all first.

And yes, duh. Because to me it’s common sense to read it before commenting.
