My teenager has just told me that Rick Astley is real music - AIBU to send for urgent help?

His had never been my kind of music but we saw him ‘support’ Peter Kay a few years ago and he was brilliant. He played a set mostly of covers of Manchester bands and it went down a storm, and of course he finished with Never Gonna Give You Up. I certainly changed my mind about him.

I've seen him live at a festival. He bonds with his audience like no other, he's mint.

I think he’s a character but his ‘music’ was terrible. Never Gonna Give You Up is objectively abysmal.

Lots of You Tubers are "reacting" to his old stuff , 80's stuff in general ,plus Elvis & Country artists at the moment,that's probably why. He's aged well, handsome even ,now. I like his new stuff.

My teens love Rick! And they love 80's music too which impresses me.

Seen him play for charity in a covers band and he's a really good drummer.

I love him. His more recent music is so soulful and uplifting.

I’m 27 so never knew him the first time round but just always know I’m going to have a great time when Rick’s on the bill! Great audience banter, amazing voice, he also has a great band and his new music is awesome!

Ok so his 80s stuff is cheesy but nothing wrong with a bit of 80s cheese. The stuff he's come out with in the last few years is pretty good.... and he's great live.
