To ask how old you were when you first snogged someone

I’m talking propper snogging with tongues.

Was asked today by my 12yo dd and honestly couldn’t remember! Think it was somewhere around 14 but clearly wasn’t too memorable!

New Years Disco at the local rugby club.

I was drunk.

2 different guys as it happens.

One a mate from school, the other a work mate of my older brother who was old enough to know better!!

It was my 13th birthday and he was 18 years old.

I met him whilst our with friends (him and his mates were sat near us) and we spent about 2 hrs making out (mostly snogging).

We didn't know each other beforehand and it was a once off, but I remember feeling so grown up and cool at the time.

14 outside the cinema (not in the back row!) in full view of the town and my father waiting in the car to pick me up opposite. Gah, the shame. He still reminds me now (I’m 47) and finds it hilarious. I died of embarrassment. Another full on washing machine of a snog, not entirely pleasant the first time!

I was weirdly young, like 8. (The boy was the same age.) I think because I had a teenage sister I was trying to copy her. We used to snog in secret when we had playdates. Then I started to get proper guilt that I was doing something wrong (I think I wasn't sure if snogging was the same as sex, and I knew that was 'bad') so we stopped and then I was actually a late bloomer as a teenager, probably because I'd given myself a complex.

I was 13, he was 12 and it was at a 13th birthday party of a classmate. Typical 1980s party: function room of the local working men's club with the DJ playing Whitney Houston "I wanna dance with somebody" and Diana Ross "Chain Reaction". It was WELL over 30 years ago and whilst I can't remember the details, it left a positive impression on me. Thanks to him I do love a bloody good snog, even now.

19. I was a shy, socially awkward teenager and the opportunity just hadn’t arisen before. I was mortified by this. A handful of boys had fancied me over the years, but they were never the ones I was attracted to.

It was a good kiss actually. I didn’t realise then that not all kisses would be that nice.

I have very low self esteem and haven’t ever had a boyfriend unfortunately.

All in all an awful washing machine experience.

13 at the youth club with my dishy first 'boyfriend'. We were both very shy with each other and it was sweet and slightly bristly. He wasn't shaving yet but was beginning to need to. All very innocent, never more than kissing.

14 on a school trip to France

I think I was around 16, but most of my friends were 13/14. You were called a VL (virgin lips) if you hadn’t kissed anyone.

16 - underneath the tree outside the local library, which later burned down and they removed the tree when they built a new bigger library, this made me sad as I enjoyed pointing out my first kiss tree whenever I went into town..........he became manager of the local Barclay's bank.

I held out to have sex until I was 18 and at uni.

11, I think. Then I didn't date all the way through secondary school (all girls) until sixth form. Didn't lose my virginity until well into my 20s so an early start as a kisser didn't carry through to everything else, despite my grandmother's dire warnings.

I never had times for boys as training was all consuming, liked them though time poor to meet any.
I was at BAF event, national sports, he was too. We both won our events were on a high met at a party. Both 17 both first time; now married 3 children 6 grandchildren. He’s still fit at 65.

12. Then 15 when I had my first kiss with another girl, and that blew the previous kisses out of the water . That was the first one that really counted.

17. I must have enjoyed it as we are still snogging 30 years later (not continuously, obviously).
