To have just realised Hugh Bonneville and Colin Firth are not the same person?

Mind just blown. I know this must sound crazy but I’ve always thought they’re the same person.

Not been a fan of the programmes/ films, but in my head I’ve always thought Hugh Bonneville/ Colin Firth/ Downton Abbey/ Mr Darcy we’re all the same actor for years.

I’ve done this sort of thing before. Does anyone else?

What?! How on earth can you mistake the two!!

They are nothing like each other.

not sure how they could be mistaken! However, I have seen a photo today of Hugh Bonneville...there is now no chance of getting him confused with himself he has lost a ton of weight and is unrecognisable!

Ha! Never confused those two but thought for years that Keeley Hawes and Keira Knightley are the same person.

No idea why. They look a bit alike maybe?

Were the names not a bit of a giveaway?

I do this all the time. But I am somewhat face blind.

It's difficult to follow movies at times.

Although for years I thought Nicole Schertzinger was a Kardasian. Not really in my sphere...

It's Hugh Bonneville and Paul Burrell that I get confused with. I genuinely thought Paul Burrell had taken up acting

But... But... The difference in sex appeal!

I have this with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

Oh yes. Not with these two, but others. Samuel Barnett and Ed Gamble are the same person as far as I am concerned. I’m quite face-blind though.

I get this with Matt Damon & Mark Warlburg. I watched a film once with them both in it & couldn’t work out what the hell was going on for the whole film

I get it with Justin Timberlake/Ryan Gosling/Ryan Reynolds.
All three have a similar role base and facial symmetry.
I think there’s a Disney child star connection, too.

Now, ask me which one is Deadpool and I’ll be second-guessing myself for ages!

I’ve never watched downton, I assumed HB played a similar sort of Darcy character, and was supposed to be attractive for the period!

Both Matt Damon and Hugh Bonneville were on Graham Norton's show (watch it on YouTube, they were hilarious and very drunk ) and talked about being mistaken for the actors mentioned. Hugh said it used to be Colin Firth when he was younger, now it's Paul Burrell.

I find that as well. I sometimes have to ask ‘was that the same person that did x earlier or was it someone else?’. Perhaps I’m a bit face blind then?? Once I get properly used to people I don’t confuse them.

Glad I’m not the only one though.

About 5 minutes in to this, Matt talks about being mistaken for Mark and Hugh for Paul.

They are both good actors though.

Oh my goodness - I would never have recognised Hugh Bonneville in that second photo!

I constantly get confused by Bradley Cooper. For a long time I confused him with High Jackman.

Then there’s him and Gerard Butler - I think it all stems from them going to Wimbledon together and wearing almost matching outfits.

Then there’s Ryan Reynolds and Ryan Gosling - I still don’t know which one is which.
