Wtaf Trump mispronouncing Yosemite

Doingtheboxerbeat · 05/08/2020 23:26

Yosemite along with Arkansas often comes up on threads about words/names that are often mispronounce because a lot of us on MN are not American, so it's all good.
BUT, the US president mispronouncing Yosemite is a bridge too far at this point and I'm having to clean up my living room at this late hour due to my head exploding.
He has got to be trolling us, surely?

@2Rebecca

I have no idea how to pronounce it or what/ where it is. If I was talking about it and was an important person I'd ensure I knew though
It's mountains and valleys and rivers in Central California that is a National Park. Millions of children learned how to pronounce it by watching cartoons with a character named Yosemite Sam.

I could be wrong but it seems that reading a teleprompter is when Trump stumbles the most. Maybe he is too vain to wear glasses or he just cannot read very well.
It is impossible a male of his age growing up in the US with affluent parents would not know who Yosemite Sam is.

Y'all have heard the , right?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 07/08/2020 02:21

Yep. Thighland has just killed me.

I do think reading is an issue because of his eyesight and refusal to wear his glasses. But there does seem to be something else going on with his pronunciation which appears to be getting worse.

Fool me once, shame on, shame on you. Fool me, can’t get fooled again.

Real facts let alone history is another weak point for the fake tan man with bottomless fake intellect and ability.

Trump says '1917' Spanish flu 'probably ended Second World War' in historical blunders

The US president suggests the pandemic, which began in 1918, brought an end to the conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945.

I was just about to mention “thighland”, but I’ve been beaten to it!

I don’t think it helps that such a significant part of his current election campaign consists of questioning Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities. People in glass houses and all that...

Proudboomer · 11/08/2020 15:02

Just to balance it out

Why don’t we have threads pointing out the Bidens declining mental health?

I am pretty glad I am not an American as the pickings are pretty slim.

MsEllany · 11/08/2020 15:33

Well Biden isn’t the POTUS for a start....

Plenty of people on this thread have pointed it out though.

Proudboomer · 11/08/2020 15:38

Yes but he is the option that is being put forward to vote trump out.

If he wins he will be Pontus but then me might not get the votes as even democrats are questioning his mental health.

The democrats have spent the last 4 years waiting for 2020 and their chance to get rid of Trump and yet they still can only produce Biden as the alternative.

MsEllany · 11/08/2020 15:41

I know that - but this thread is about Trump not Biden!

Proudboomer · 11/08/2020 15:51

Yes because no one wants to point out what a joke the opposition put forward to beat trump is.
Therefore there has not been one thread about Biden gaffes or outright lies.
I could start my own tread but u bet it would soon drop off the page as no one is that interested.

RandomLondoner · 11/08/2020 15:55

And he's got the nucular codes!

I assume you were joking with yout spelling. I just googled to check and apparently Trump can pronounce "nuclear", unlike George Bush Jr.

Bush not being able to pronounce "nuclear" was a bit of a low-point in Presidential pronuciation history. (Although last time I googled, I think he wasn't the first president to have that failing.)

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 11/08/2020 16:05

@Proudboomer. I agree that we have poor options in November and it’s pretty pathetic that Biden ended up being the Democratic nominee. I thought there were some far better candidates earlier in the race. Oh well, I hope he chooses a strong V-P.
