A 74 year old mispronounces a word and the MN mob want to burn him at the stake.
Ridiculous.
Criticise his policies, politics or decisions all you want, but ranting against a 74 year old for a mispronunciation makes you look foolish and nasty.
The thing is he's not just a normal 70+ year old man is he?
He's one of the most powerful people on the planet, whose words and actions have an impact on billions of people.
Mispronouncing a word might not seem important but when POTUS can't get right the name of one of the most famous national parks in the US it has consequences far beyond what you might imagine.
The "health" of the US economy is as much driven by market confidence as it is by performance. When that economy is led by a man, who despite having access to some of the best press officers and people to brief him on any given subject, repeatedly "stumbles" over quite basic communication then unsurprisingly that is going to impact confidence.
That impact means many people losing jobs. It also discredits not only the role of POTUS but the credibility and global influence of the USA on a global stage.
As a singular gaff it would be embarrassing, but this is also in the context of a man whose lack of Presidential gravitas and utter failure to grasp quite simple concepts is breathtaking to behold.
So no, it's no being mean nor is it irrelevant or fake news.
It's profoundly disturbing that one of the most powerful countries in the world is led by a man who can't understand the difference between a virus and bacteria, thinks that the US is winning the war on Covid globally despite having the highest death rate per capita (because he thinks reporters can't point out his stats are based on deaths as a percentage of infected), suggests "some sort of cleansing" the body with bleach, cites the work of a "doctor" who believes in multiple alien conspiracies as a reputable source and can't fucking well pronounce the name of one of the most famous fucking national parks in the US.
rant over and out.
