Superdrug pregnancy tests

What’s your experience with them?

Bit of backstory.
I’ve got DD 2.5 and twin DDs 1 year olds.
All ivf
I’m 5 days late, so I tested and it’s positive.
So I read you can get false positives. So I told my DH to wee on the second stick (Assuming if it’s a bad batch both the sticks would be faulty) and that ones negative Grin
I’m so confused! Pleeeease help!
FYI gonna be going out to get a clear blue later.

They are shite, they give out faint lines.

But if it's a strong clear line then I reckon it will be a true one.

Buy a digital.

MsVestibule · 04/08/2020 15:56

I thought you could only get a false negative, i.e. they can't detect changes in the hormone levels?

I think you're pregnant!

EyeSeeWhatYouDidThere · 04/08/2020 15:57

I can't speak for the Superdrug ones as I tested with Home Bargains ones before running out to buy expensive ones Grin but would recommend a First Response instead of Clearblue. I'll cross my fingers for you! Flowers

MsVestibule · 04/08/2020 15:57

Are you on any medication that might interfere with the result?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 04/08/2020 15:58

Yes, that would suggest you are pregnant.

grandmasterstitch · 04/08/2020 15:59

I used them and they were accurate for me. Hope you get the result you want!

MsVestibule · 04/08/2020 15:59

If you are, is this a good thing or a bad thing? If I was in your circumstances I'd be horrified, but a lot of women took to parenthood a lot better than me!!

Bananacloud · 04/08/2020 16:01

Not taking any meds at moment no

Yes I love being a mum but I felt like 3 was enough. I was happy with my 3 girls. Very mixed feelings at moment 🙁

And it was a very strong Positive line

WonderTweek · 04/08/2020 16:02

Don't know about Superdrug ones but I've definitely had false positives on cheap sticks from Amazon. I freaked out after a couple of lines and got my husband to wee on one as well. He didn't get a line, but I was definitely not pregnant and I have the coil (I only take the tests occasionally for peace of mind because I don't get periods on the coil and sometimes get paranoid I'm pregnant Confused). Maybe the evaporation line (or whatever it was called) is really prominent on some tests? Or you could be pregnant.

Bananacloud · 04/08/2020 16:06

Thank you wondertweek. That’s what may have happened with us. Hopefully will know more once I get the Clearblue digital. I’m not experiencing any pregnancy symptoms either.

If you go on the reviews for this pregnancy test, they’ve got 74 negatives out of 102 reviews Confused

DivaRainbow · 04/08/2020 16:10

I used them and they where correct with me. I was 4 weeks with DD and read awful review's online so retested

mindutopia · 04/08/2020 16:11

They were very good back when I was TTC (albeit several years ago now). I think it's very unlikely to get a strong positive if you are not pregnant. I think people do see vague shadows of a line, think it's something, and then get angry and write a negative review because they got their hopes up over what was very clearly not a line. But it's unlikely if the line is clearly strong. I would get a FRER over a clearblue.

StarEclipse · 04/08/2020 16:13

Didn't use a superdrug test this time, but have in the past. Superdrug own brand were always really sensitive and a good choice on the threads from my ttc days.

I am also currently pregnant with a surprise 4th after previous IVF ConfusedGrin

rabbitheadlights · 04/08/2020 16:13

I found them to be the best ...

Bananacloud · 04/08/2020 16:14

@StarEclipse Oh my gosh! How did you feeling when you found out? Grin

OP posts:
Tobebythesea · 04/08/2020 16:21

I used Superdrug tests for DC1 and it was negative and then 3 days later used a FRER and it was positive. I think it was just too early for the Superdrug one.

I would pop out and get a FRER and let us know!

SunshineCake · 04/08/2020 16:33

I hope it all works out for you. Kudos to your dh for helping too.

Thingsthatgo · 04/08/2020 16:34

A faint shadowy line might be a false positive, but if has colour in it it is extremely likely you are pregnant.

mylittlesandwich · 04/08/2020 16:44

Some tests show up a very faint line if they're dodgy but a strong positive is unlikely to be wrong in my opinion.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 04/08/2020 16:47

If it turns out to be a negative, you may need to double down onnyour birth control if 3 is definetly enough.

zippityzip · 04/08/2020 16:52

I used a Superdrug early response a few weeks back and it gave me such a faint line j was confusing myself. I am pregnant. Confirmed with a digital and a million other tests 😂
If you've got a strong line then I would say you're definitely pregnant. When can you get a FRER or digital?

CrimeCantCrackItself · 04/08/2020 17:05

Can you show the test on here? I keep hearing of lots of brand's giving out false positives at the minute.

Fearicecream · 04/08/2020 17:15

Yes but the quality of the picture is pants!
