He says he sexually abused me

talesofterrorfromtheblackship · 02/08/2020 19:46

Someone ‘close’ to me is a complete car crash of a person, I have cut them out of my life.
But, they have now claimed that they sexually abused me as a child... they did not! I am absolutely certain they did not!
Why would someone make this up? I am so livid that they would try to involve me in their sordid little life by claiming this.
Why on earth would someone do this? I don’t know how to feel about it, other than angry and disgusted.

Well if he hasn,t then def walk away from this person they sound unwired.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/08/2020 19:58

Treading very very carefully and sensitively here, but Could it have happened and you've blocked it out. Either way this person is sick and twisted.
I honestly don't know what's worse abusing a child or making up lies that you did.

Frazzled13 · 02/08/2020 20:07

In what way are they claiming this? In an "I must apologise for my actions" way, or in a more horrible way?

BoggledBudgie · 02/08/2020 20:20

Who are they claiming this to?

Kaiserin · 02/08/2020 20:27

Trying to control you with lies, and make themselves feel more important?

MitziK · 02/08/2020 20:33

Trying to force you stay in contact because you 'need' to know what they've done to you or why they're saying it?

At most, I'd suggest that they report themselves to the Police and then ensure you continue to not have any contact. And if there's any flying monkeys involved in you hearing this, cut them off as well.

spudlike1 · 02/08/2020 20:36

controlling behaviour , cut contact completely, seek professional support

talesofterrorfromtheblackship · 02/08/2020 20:41

Ah I’ve just realised why!!! The manipulative twat!!!

OP posts:
NavyBerry · 02/08/2020 20:44

Blackmailing you? I think this can be reported as stalking

Chloemol · 02/08/2020 20:52

I would be recording him saying that, then handing the recording to the
Police and letting them handle it

joecormac · 02/08/2020 20:55

My cousin made similar claims - that he had abused girls related to him/friends of the family.
It was the first obvious symptom of a mental health episode which he never recovered from. We think it was triggered by his decades long use of weed. Could it be something similar?

Potatobug · 02/08/2020 21:02

Maybe he is telling you he is a paedophile?

ContessaferJones · 02/08/2020 21:13

Why do you think they've said it, OP?

DameHannahRelf · 02/08/2020 21:17

What age are they claiming you were when this happened? Would they have had any opportunity at that time? I hope it's not true and you can be 100% sure about that, but it could be at all possible? I'm sorry op, what a horrible situation this person has put you in either way Flowers.

I agree with trying to get proof (would anyone be able to get you a recording, screenshots, or be willing to act as a witness?), take the information to the police, let them deal with it, and cut all contact.

DameHannahRelf · 02/08/2020 21:18

*could it

IAmFleshIAmBone · 02/08/2020 21:21

I don't know anything about this person obviously, but I know there is a type of OCD which makes people confess to things they haven't done. Could it be something like that?

TatianaBis · 02/08/2020 21:24

@talesofterrorfromtheblackship

Ah I’ve just realised why!!! The manipulative twat!!!
Why?
BoggledBudgie · 02/08/2020 21:25

@IAmFleshIAmBone there is not a type of OCD that makes people confess to things they haven’t done. There is the intrusive thoughts part of OCD that can make you believe you’re capable of horrific things, or terrified that you’ll do something horrific if that is what you’re thinking of? E.G I have perinatal OCD that has me convinced I am going to be the reason my perfectly healthy children die. I am terrified that I will somehow stab them on purpose when cooking. I am not capable of doing such a thing, though I do now refuse to let them in the kitchen when I am cooking just in case.

BoggledBudgie · 02/08/2020 21:27

(It’s not just cooking or purposeful stabbing my OCD relates to though, the intrusive thoughts mean that I am convinced they will die horrific deaths for any number of reasons and it’ll all be my fault. That’s not me confessing to premeditated murder, that’s me expressing that there are these unwanted thoughts appearing in my head because OCD = anxiety and anxiety = worrying about things that are not likely to happen. Like me stabbing my child on purpose).

jessstan2 · 02/08/2020 21:28

How old is this person, eg would he have been a child himself when he says he sexually abused you?

IAmFleshIAmBone · 02/08/2020 21:32

I have heard it referred to as 'scrupulosity OCD'. I suffer from this symptom, and it does indeed make me confess to things I haven't done. I also know other people with this symptom. There are also people whose OCD makes them think they are paedophiles. It was just a suggestion as to what might be going on, but obviously I don't know the person.

IAmFleshIAmBone · 02/08/2020 21:34

Sorry @BoggledBudgie I meant to tag you in my last post. I get the intrusive thoughts like the ones you mentioned too. But there are people who have the 'confession' type OCD.

SpookyNoise · 02/08/2020 21:34

Who has he said to? Why do you think he has said it?

Jux · 02/08/2020 21:35

He wants you back in his life UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, good or bad.

Leave them well alone. Don't give them the satisfaction.

CarrieFour · 02/08/2020 21:38

How disturbing.

Is he saying this in private to you? Or in front of others/online?
