Was I really awful to this MLM rep?

I've just had 5 messages in a row from a random MLM rep on Instagram DMs (my profile is private) saying how perfect I'd be to join her team and looking through my profile she can see that I'm exactly who she is looking for and I can start earning £2k + a month right away and as a mother why would I hesitate to give my kids the life they deserve!? (my kids are in my profile picture with me).

I replied with 3 pictures (attached) and I'm now getting a tirade of abuse - saying I'm a nasty bitter old woman (I'm 26 ) and spreading hate at a time when we should always think "be kind" and love all lives.

I haven't replied. I probably shouldn't have replied in the first place either but I get so so so many MLM messages and have lost several good friends to the huns..

I think you're a lot more bold than many! I just ignore, but I don't think these are harsh. You should reply and say she started it by dropping into your DMs with her rude, cut-and-paste cold calling.

No you weren’t really awful, I hope it was satisfying to send them! She completely deserved it, and more. Cheeky bitch to send you DM’s when she doesn’t even know you and start talking about your kids.

Seems a tame reply so not sure why tirade of abuse. MLM bots do get very defensive but i guess nobody likes suggestion they've been foolish, probably why surround themselves with other MLM bots all chanting same sales bullshit.

It did feel very satisfying but I think my anger was misplaced - I'm so bloody sick of friends turning into selling robots and not being friends anymore

I would ask why she thinks your kids don't already have a happy life and have everything provided? So rude of HER!

I don't know why this has wound me up so much. I looked on Facebook and she lives about 3 hours away from me, we have 0 mutual friends. They must be looking further a field than friends/family/colleagues and just sending out blanket messages to any account they can.

Have I missed a great opportunity here.. she mentioned how the "biz" about to blow up ahead of the advent calendar launch 🎄

I had someone message me on Instagram and I told her exactly what I think of MLMs.

Suddenly I wasn’t hun or babe anymore and there was a noticeable dearth of xoxoxoxoxoxoxox in her replies.

Silly cow! I do feel sorry for anyone stupid enough to believe they work to be fair.

Doesn’t help when Vicky Pattinson launches one. She has millions of followers. She’s a disgrace.

You don’t get to DM people with unsolicited sales pitches and then whinge about the reply you get! You take your “victim” as you find them, most will ignore, some will respond politely and some will tell you exactly what you are. That’s the risk you take!

But those are not angry in themselves. You might have felt angry - and I think that's good. She crossed a whole bunch of boundaries, and you reinstated them in a humorous manner with those cards.

She's the nasty one, abusing you for deflecting her unwanted pushy attentions. And she's the bitter one, too! At not hooking you in.
