Yes.

AfterSchoolWorry · 28/07/2020 12:37

Well no, but prepare for a carb coma!

Lweji · 28/07/2020 12:38

I had 1/4 the other day and struggled.
Good luck.

FourPlasticRings · 28/07/2020 12:38

Nah, you're fine. One pineapple does not diabetes make. You might get some gastrointestinal side effects though. Probably not wise to do it every lunch.

Lilifer · 28/07/2020 12:39

A carb coma?? B. It's fruit, surely that's healthy?? I do feel very very full 😔

honeygirlz · 28/07/2020 12:39

this is an actual thing, OP, go for it. Some people do it daily.

OrigamiOwl · 28/07/2020 12:39

It's probably going to hurt due to the acid...

Toblerone345 · 28/07/2020 12:39

They are delicious but I think my gums would feel like they were about to peel off if I did that.

Lilifer · 28/07/2020 12:40

Wait whoah is there a lot of sugar in pineapples?? But they're fruit???

OP posts:
CecilyP · 28/07/2020 12:40

Why not! It’s one thing that isn’t restricted at the moment and we all need some fun!

Prig · 28/07/2020 12:41

No problem in my opinion. But then i'll snack on a pineapple once in a while (prepare it/ cut it into chunks and consume all in one go immediately after) and then not need anything for almost the rest of the day.

Karenovirus · 28/07/2020 12:42

I went on a 7lbs in 7 days bullshit diet when I was a teenager.

You could eat as much as you liked of a prescribed fruit for each meal for the first 3 days. One of those fruits was pineapple

The enzymes in the pineapple sting like buggery and I'd be amazed if you can battle your way through half of one. My mouth felt like it was blistered.

Alarae · 28/07/2020 12:42

I would be impressed. I can only eat through two slices before the acid starts to burn...

TheSoapyFrog · 28/07/2020 12:42

Depends if you're peeling it first...

I could probably do it if it was a super sweet one, otherwise it's too acidic and I can't manage it.

AriettyHomily · 28/07/2020 12:42

@Lilifer of course they're full of sugar!

Angeldust747 · 28/07/2020 12:42

Fruit is full of sugar 🤔 surely that's not news?
Fanthorpe · 28/07/2020 12:43

Sugar in fruit is a carb, one of the easiest for the body to use.

But I’m bitter because I can’t eat much pineapple or grapefruit anymore as it gives me stomach ache, I’m ooooollldddddd.

MKmummy123 · 28/07/2020 12:43

Don’t do it - they are really acidic. I ate a whole pineapple once (pregnancy craving!) and it literally burnt my mouth. I was in pain for days.

WhyDoesItAlways · 28/07/2020 12:43

All fruit has sugar in it (fructose). Pineapple is one of the most sugary. But definitely preferable to a bag of sweets.

Ifailed · 28/07/2020 12:43

Pretty well all fruit contains sugar, even tomatoes

Lilifer · 28/07/2020 12:44

Ok I knew there was a bit of sugar but not as much as say in a jam donut

Motoko · 28/07/2020 12:45

Pineapple has an enzyme which is very harsh, so I would worry what that amount would do to my mouth/teeth, and gut.

Of course fruit has sugar in it, that's why it's sweet, and the advice is to eat more vegetables than fruit.

MellowBird85 · 28/07/2020 12:45

It’ll eat you back you know...

Karenovirus · 28/07/2020 12:45

Also my son says pineapples can dissolve human flesh

He's 11 and learned this on YouTube so I cannot account for the veracity of this information

honeygirlz · 28/07/2020 12:46

I don't think it's that bad! I wouldn't do it regularly, I know people who do though. It sounds like you've eaten it and feel fine?
