There is a noise.
It's a new noise.
Sounds like ds xbox. Or a fan.
Ds is with me, watching a film. Xbox is off.
We dont own a fan .
We have investigated all our electric things. None is making a noise.
Aibu to ask what is this noise?
Where is it coming from?
And how can we get it to stop???

Is it a toilet cistern filling continuously? Ours has been doing this and it's a high pitched noise I could hear, but DP couldn't.

Boiler?

Vibrator or electric toothbrush buzzing away somewhere it shouldn't.

Water tank in the loft?

Is it windy? If so could be the wind rushing through soffit boards or fascia on the outside of your house.

If you live in an attached house, could it be neighbours?

If not, something to do with pipes / heating?

Is it definitely indoors and not a low flying search helicopter?

Fridge left slightly ajar

My fridge makes funny noises when it is auto doing whatever it auto does. Different from its usual noise.

Fucking tinnitus!

It sounds like all of those!
But the boiler is off overnight. As usual.
Not windy and more constant hum type noise.
Toothbrush is flat.
Need to charge that tomorrow.
Sounds a lot like the boiler. But I have been and checked.

My virgin TiVo box randomly makes a noise like this!

I hear/feel a noise like this. It’s only started since my neighbour got a sound bar and it’s the bass from that.

Can you flick the switch on your fuse box.....if it stops it’s something electrical in your house.

Next door’s fan?

Do you have an extractor fan anywhere in the house?
Could it be coming from outside or from your neighbours?
Try switching off your electric mains and see if it stops.

DS can hear the electric. He said that's a buzzing sound weirdo

Just about to say Sky box - ours is very noisy too at times.

Could it be a laptop? If there is an issue with the fan sometimes it gets very loud.

@TheFormerPorpentinaScamander. Your ds is not the only one 😁. The electric is more of a high pitched whine/hum than a low level buzz.

Could something be pushed right back onto the fan in your fridge freezer? That makes quite a racket.

Or give your sky box vents a Hoover tomorrow. Sometimes the dust clog can make the fan run full pelt.
