I've gained a bit of weight over lockdown. I'm normally very slim, but I am finding it difficult to know where I stand with my new weight as none friends of my friends are taller than 5 foot 6. I'm finding it difficult to read group chats of friends who have gained but are still weighing less than I was previously. I think I was too slim before but that has clouded my judgement of what is normal and I am worrying about my gain as I'm not used to seeing myself like this, so I'd like a bit of perspective and to see what feels healthy and good for other women.

If you are a lady 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 11 (or taller!), I'd love to know the weights you are comfortable at. I'm 5 foot 10 FYI.

I'm just under 5'8". I usually weigh around 10 and a half stone which gives me a BMI of around 22. I'm a 10 on the top and a 12 on the bottom. Ideally I'd like to be half a stone lighter, but I have been running over 25k per week over lockdown and haven't lost much weight at all, so I think losing half a stone is extremely unlikely.

RainRainGoAway12 · 23/07/2020 07:14

5ft 10 here too. Currently 11 stone 7 and feel fine. Would like to be about 10 stone 10 to feel back to my best (currently have a baby under 1 so there’s hope!)

Twizbe · 23/07/2020 07:16

I'm 6ft. Best weight was 12st 8, good weight was 13st am currently 13st 8 with a bit more baby weight to shift

jcurve · 23/07/2020 07:29

5’9” and my happy weight is about 9 stone 10. Currently just over at 10 stone.

Standrewsschool · 23/07/2020 07:32

5’7”.

Currently 12 1/2. Would like to get under 11. Ie. Comfortable 12-14 clothes.

NavyBerry · 23/07/2020 07:32

5'7" 9stone happy with that

Itmustbeglove · 23/07/2020 07:33

5’9”, happiest at 10 st 7 lb. Still have a muffin top and a bit of tummy fat but under this my shoulders and chest look scrawny.
Up to 11 st I look ok, reached 12 early in lockdown and felt tubby.

Figgygal · 23/07/2020 07:34

5 ft 10
Happiest around 12 stone
Usually 12.10

40 next year and though weight same as has been for years feel a lot fatter

Want to get down to 12 for my bday

Colinthedog · 23/07/2020 07:36

5’8 and currently 12 stone after lockdown weight gain and a size 14. Working to get back to 11 and a half stone initially where I’m more comfortable, but my real target is 11 stone which will take me to a size 12. Large frame with muscular build, always seem to weigh a lot more than friends who wear the same size. 11st takes quite a lot of effort to maintain with a lot of exercise and careful eating, not sure I could maintain any smaller and not worth the effort for me.

Blobby10 · 23/07/2020 07:41

I'm 5ft 9 and weigh 13 stones which I feel is too heavy for me. I've gained half a stone a decade (51 now) - even when I was 20 I weighed 11 stones which was too heavy according to the charts but I did have lots of muscle from riding horses. Now I have muscle from gym work and cycling (my legs are amazing!) but definitely too much fat on my old bod. Gym open next week so hoping that getting back into a routine again will help me shift a few pounds. I'd LOVE to weight 11 stones again but think 12 is more realistic.

Chickydoo · 23/07/2020 07:42

5'7 Most comfortable at 8st4. Currently 8st9 seem to have gained 5 lockdown lbs. I do have a very slight frame. Am an old bird 50+ think the extra lbs could just be age/slowing down related as opposed to cake.(well cake might be the culprit)

WingBingo · 23/07/2020 07:44

5’10” and currently 9st 10

I can carry weight quite well but prefer to stay under 10st.

I have gangly legs and arms and carry weight around my hips so it can look out of proportion if I go over 10st.

KeepingPlain · 23/07/2020 07:52

I'm 5ft 8 and currently about 14st 11lbs.

The annoying part is I'm trying to lose weight, I'm walking a lot, I'm actually a lot fitter than I was before lockdown and I'm a lot healthier too, eating right and cut out on the snacks. I've only lost 4 lbs. Sad

But my legs are almost solid muscle, and they are BIG legs. My top half is a 10/12, my bottom half is 14/16. My partner says I'm not meant to be slim, my build is just the way I am (and he loves it, he's not being mean), but I wish I had slimmer legs. These ones don't suit shorts. Grin

8st 4 puts you into the underweight category at 18.2 and more at risk of osteoporosis. 8st 9 is a much healthier weight for you.

I have just weighed myself. At 5' 7" I am 9st 11 with a BMI of 21.4. Unfortuntaley I have developed a bit of a paunch and am trying to lose that, and would prefer to be about 9 st 7.

Justonedayatatime11 · 23/07/2020 08:02

5ft 7 and currently weigh 9 stone 4. Not happy about it at all. My happy weight would be 8 stone 6. Not sure why I've suddenly gained the best part of a stone but I'd quite like to lose it!

chubbyhotchoc · 23/07/2020 08:05

I'm 5ft 10. I was 11 stone 7 and looked terrible. Lolly pop headed and scrawny. Went up to 12st 3 ish and looked much better. I'm currently 13st 10 22 weeks pregnant and hating it. Soo would say around 12st is good for me

Ginfordinner · 23/07/2020 08:05

Why Justonedayatatime11? 9st 4 is a good weight at that height. Do you have a very small frame? 8st 6 is right at the lowest end of a healthy BMI at 18.5.

LadyRoughDiamond · 23/07/2020 08:11

I'm 5'7 and went up to up to 12st during lockdown after a few years of steady weight gain. Am now running regularly and eating more carefully - want to be under 11st.

AuntieMarys · 23/07/2020 08:11

I'm 6 feet and currently 13 stone which is far too much. I'm happy at just under 12.

ibblebibbledibble · 23/07/2020 08:16

I’m 5ft 7 and weigh 9 and a half stone. Happy at this weight.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 23/07/2020 08:16

5 feet 10 inches & currently 9 stone 4 pounds.

I'm usually around 9 stone 10 pounds so have lost a bit of weight during lockdown (think it's the stress!!).

I'm happy when I'm 9 stone 7 pounds or less. I think the lowest I've been recently is 9 stone 2 pounds and I'd happily go down to 9 stone exactly but no less.

I'm tall & slim with long arms & legs and wide shoulders. I do have a muffin top, definitely no flat stomach here! I'm happy with how I look though.

MinnieMousse · 23/07/2020 08:21

Im 5'7 and agree there's a big difference between me and 5'10. I don't know my weight at the moment as I don't want to look at the scales, but I'm usually somewhere between 9st and 9st4. I have a small frame and have thin legs/arm/face at any weight, just put it on my belly. As I get older, I would look better with a slightly fuller face but I don't want the flabby belly to go with it. I really need to increase my exercise but I am too lazy.

Justonedayatatime11 · 23/07/2020 08:25

Ginfordinner I think because I've always been tiny, probably to a point of it being unhealthy, so now even though I know I'm a healthy weight, I struggle to accept I'm not fat. Which unfortunately I feel I am. It probably doesn't help that the weight gain seems to have gone mainly on my stomach/hips/thighs so for me seems more noticeable and I feel disgusting.

Blueuggboots · 23/07/2020 08:26

I'm 5' 9" but I'm quite sturdy iyswim?
I'm happy at 12 st 7lb ish (currently 13st 7) and I'm very slim at 11st 7. I struggle to get this low and my body seems to be comfy around 12st 7.

Mrstwiddle · 23/07/2020 08:26

5’10. Usual weight: 10:4 although would like to be back down to my youthful weight of 9:7
