Women filmed in car (social distancing)

To think the man who filmed the women in the car regarding her complaining about social distancing was wrong to plaster it all over the internet calling her crazy because it seems likely she's vulnerable?

ETA "I feel a bit sorry for her, she's crazy, who does she think he is"

His quote from the video.

Northernparent68 · 22/07/2020 09:03

Well vulnerable or not, it was a stupid And aggressive thing to do.

Laaalaaaa · 22/07/2020 09:06

Nah. If this situation was reversed to an older man doing it to a younger woman there would be outcry on here. Woman does it to man she needs to be excused - hmm.

ktewdc · 22/07/2020 09:07

Maybe he didn't plaster it all over the internet. Maybe he shared it with his friends and it got picked up by other news outlets.

justanotherneighinparadise · 22/07/2020 09:07

I’ve seen the video and she is certainly acting odd. Why does she think having an open window and vocally remonstrating with someone next to her is safer than keeping her windows closed and getting on with driving Confused

sauvignonblancplz · 22/07/2020 09:08

I’m sick of seeing people filming every single thing anyone does.

You're only seeing it because online tabloids mine and exploit people's personal social media for clickbait.

They shouldn’t be filming random strangers anyway, then there wouldnt be anything to mine

I think there might be an argument made for videoing things that might be a legal issue...might

But i saw this, the women was being ridiculous

OneForMeToo · 22/07/2020 09:26

Everyone’s so fast to whip out a camera and record every single altercation they see and get it to and then upload it to Facebook just to get their five minutes of fame and “OMG it’s been shared 30,000 times!” Type rubbish.

Even that pub fight where one women was accused of being racist and they actually had a fight. Did they report to the police? No just uploaded a video online a random after seeing the video reported it.

Clutterbugsmum · 22/07/2020 09:29

All she had to do is close her car window if she was so worried about social distance. There was no reason for her to scream and shout about anything.

Milicentbystander72 · 22/07/2020 09:36

Where's this video? I've had a look on Twitter and can't see anything?

TrailMonkey · 22/07/2020 09:36

Daily Mail article has the full video on it.

The way to stop this is by stopping the infantile need to splurge all of one's private business in social meejaa! The minute you place your tedious life online you are asking to be made a target for everyone's amusement, no-one's fault but the poster.
The other day I was walking along our High Street, quite a broad pavement, one woman was on the edge of the pavement talking to someone across standing outside a shop. She was yelling at anyone who walked between them about social distancing, somewhat adjectivally challenged with f....... words too!

Milicentbystander72 · 22/07/2020 09:43

Thanks Trailmonkey. Didn't think think to look there!

contrmary · 22/07/2020 09:48

The man doesn't appear to have done anything wrong. To be honest if some bat shit person started shouting at me like that I'd probably film it too! If she's concerned she should keep her window shut, then the virus can't get her.

I agree with the person above who said that if it was an old man shouting at a young woman, everyone would be blaming the person being aggressive.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 22/07/2020 09:48

So the stock response these days is to give aggressors who behave atrociously to other people a free pass because they might be 'suffering from mental health issues?'

Hard no.

Funny how #BeKind only seems to be a thing when responding to a non-acceptance of someone deciding to vent their spleens at others.

Another hard no.

Chanjer · 22/07/2020 09:54

Whether she has a problem or not or just a low moment or even if she's like that all the time the bloke who filmed it and then added his little diagnosis at the end is a prick

Film it, mock em, own it, whatever I don't really care

Don't feign concern though, cos if he was concerned he wouldn't upload it

KingOfDogShite · 22/07/2020 09:57

It looks like she’s wearing a Tesco uniform to me and she’s driving a car so is probably no more vulnerable than you or I.

She acted like a complete twat.

TrailMonkey · 22/07/2020 10:20

@Chanjer That was my thinking too, exactly!

It's the add on video bit at the end that made me pause and reflect and change my opinion on the fact that actually maybe what he did was wrong too.

OP posts:
BluebellForest836 · 22/07/2020 10:27

She was an utter twat. She did sound crazy and she has no right to shout At others in their car. Bloody idiot.

Sh05 · 22/07/2020 10:29

I think it was lifted from his social media by the news outlets.
Mental health is always brought up when someone is caught out doing something idiotic which is an insult to those who suffer from real mental health problems.
It is a genuine illness that doesn't turn people into idiots!

SoddingWeddings · 22/07/2020 10:36

She's sufficiently NT to have a job (can see a Tesco ID badge) and drive a car somewhere around Crawley which is a busy area at the best of times.

Video is so important today - just look at the use for it in BLM, holding abusers to account, protecting people from lies and irrational behaviour.

LonginesPrime · 22/07/2020 11:03

How do you stop the "need" for people to post on SM though?

This kind of thing is the modern equivalent of net curtain-twitching, gossiping or peep shows - if people didn't click on the links to see what some 'crazy' woman did, there would be no demand and the websites wouldn't be able to monetise social media fodder. Yes, the DM et al encourage this by offering cash to anyone sending in a mate's social media video, but if people didn't click on them, there would be no money in it.

IMO, it's not the need to publicise one's life that causes these events to be picked up by tabloids, it's the fact that tabloid-readers want to see it and find it entertaining.

I'm not judging anyone for what they enjoy or click on - I just think it's unfair to say the poster shouldn't have put their tedious life online when clearly lots of other people were interested.

SquashedSpring · 22/07/2020 11:32

The woman's behaviour is very odd, but why does the man feel the need to post it online? If she was physically attacking him or his car there would be a reason to film it as evidence, but this wasn't the case.

People sometimes behave in ways others don't expect, they could be suffering from anxiety, could have mental health problems, autism, or could just be having a bad day. They don't deserve to have their bad moment shared all over the world.

It's like a modern day 'freak show' - lets all look and point at the person behaving oddly (while of course liking and sharing). It's fucking shit and shame on those who do it.

SquashedSpring · 22/07/2020 11:37

"She's sufficiently NT to have a job (can see a Tesco ID badge) and drive a car somewhere around Crawley which is a busy area at the best of times."

What on earth is this supposed to mean? You do realise that those of us who aren't NT can still drive and yes, we even have jobs sometimes.

If you're talking about accountability, have a look at your own attitude towards people who aren't NT.
