To be utterly sick of having a hairy bathroom

DH and DS are half man half bear. DD has waist length hair and I also have hair.

I am utterly sick of our white tiled bath room floor being a sea of hair, the sink and even the toilet for God’s sake.

You get a dry cloth and all it does is move it about, a damp cloth and you have wet hairs stuck to everything. And it’s a nightmare to remove.

It feels a bit urgh to hoover a bathroom but I think I may have to start.

Anyone else shaved everyone in the family to stop this happening?

Can someone enlighten me as to why it is urgh to hoover a bathroom before mopping it?

Elieza · 18/07/2020 19:12

Why is so much of their hair falling out?

Is the brushbar thing on your hoover totally wound up with hair too?

That sounds awful.

Loveinatimeofcovid · 18/07/2020 19:13

We have this issue (all DH). I hoover but obviously by the end of the day there is hair everywhere again. It’s actually a bit depressing.

kimlo · 18/07/2020 19:14

I hoover the bathroom floor. It's covered in cat hair.

Eh?

Really don't understand. I hoover mine every day. Due to the hair.

Ernieshere · 18/07/2020 19:14

I hoover my bathroom, its lino Karndean, and the hair/fluff/talc gathers.

It is very satisfying watching it zoom up the pipe.

No men in this house though thank god

whippetwoman · 18/07/2020 19:16

Oh OP I am so with you. I feel irritated by this all the time. White tiles are the worst. Can we form a support group? I am not even joking.

CrashingCymbals · 18/07/2020 19:17

I hoover the bathroom before mopping. DH also sheds like a dog and he shaves his head regularly so there's always hairs everywhere. I wipe surfaces with a wet cloth and rinse after every wipe, takes forever but otherwise it just gets pushed about.

HumphreyGoodmanswife · 18/07/2020 19:18

Another who is Confused about why it is so grim to hoover the bathroom floor. I hoover it along with every other floor in the house and then mop it afterwards.

gnomeisland · 18/07/2020 19:20

Scrolling through Active Threads I read this as "sick of having a hairy bottom"

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 18/07/2020 19:21

I assume it is because her menfolk miss the loo? If you're worried just use the tube to suck the hair and debris up and then mop rather than using the head you would use for carpets and other rooms.

Reallybadidea · 18/07/2020 19:21

God, it really winds me up too. Every single bloody day I hoover/sweep the floor. It's worst by the towel rail where it falls off his towel. I have 3 teenage/adult boys who are all hairy but fortunately they use a different bathroom so I don't have to look at it.

Hairnotfair · 18/07/2020 19:21

Just seems weird to take a hoover into a wet room I guess.

I sweep it out but hairs seem to get stuck all over the toilet, the sink, there’s just bloody HAIR everywhere!!

You could swap the shampoo for Immac? Wink

Wowcherarestalkingme · 18/07/2020 19:25

I have waist length hair and had a baby 8 months ago to it is falling out all over the place. Drives me round the twist. I also hoover my bathroom before mopping. I’m in their doing the ceiling cobwebs with the hoover anyway, I don’t see it as being much different

MsTSwift · 18/07/2020 19:25

Hoover it. I feel your pain and I can’t complain as it’s my hair!

When I left for university remember dad saying how much he’d miss me but “not the bloody hair”. He used to clean the bathrooms now I see what he meant

Wowcherarestalkingme · 18/07/2020 19:26

*there

Mummyshark2018 · 18/07/2020 19:26

I shed like a bear! Long dark hair. I can't help it. I just hoover it up, or brush depending on flooring.

MarshaBradyo · 18/07/2020 19:27

I can’t imagine not hoovering before mopping. But the floor isn’t wet.

m0therofdragons · 18/07/2020 19:30

I’ve always hoovered then mopped and find it weird and a bit grim not to hoover up hair and dead skin/dust before mopping.

Sparklesocks · 18/07/2020 19:31

I have a handheld hoover which is quite good for picking up things like hair and crumbs, that might work if you don’t want to lug the big version in there

MsTSwift · 18/07/2020 19:33

Mummy shark me too long dark curly hair and lots of it!

doodlebug33 · 18/07/2020 19:35

I have hardwood floors in all my bathrooms plus kitchen/dining room. I would NEVER mop without hoovering first!!!!
Feel your pain though. I threatened to shave DD's head while she slept if she didn't stop leaving it in the bath and sink. It worked Grin

TimeWastingButFun · 18/07/2020 19:35

I don't like using the attachments in the bathroom (eg around the floor near the loo) and then elsewhere in the house either so I bought a separate attachment which I keep in the bathroom cupboard, and use that on the end of the hose.

PintOfBovril · 18/07/2020 19:35

OP I hear you and I share your pain. My DH is very very dark and covered in hair. So the hairs he loses from his chest, legs, head....all highly visible EVERYWHERE it drives me round the bloody bend.
