Daily Mail advertising takeover

Posting in AIBU for visibility. I turned off my adblocker temporarily to debug another site I'm working on and forgot to turn it back on - and saw that Mumsnet is running a massive Daily Mail advertising takeover. Just in case anyone else is using an adblocker as well and might want to make sure not to support a company that takes advertising money from a fascist rag, thought I'd put this out there.

I am trying to decide whether just to delete entirely as this is a bit of a last straw, or if the fact that I always normally block all the ads anyway means it doesn't matter so much. Maybe MN HQ will make the decision for me, for pointing out that their advertising partner is, indeed, fascist.

The Daily Mail and The Sunday Mail often report on matters like violence towards women and children which the lefty liberal media ignores.

"Fascist"gets thrown out far to readily by people who haven't a clue what it means.

A couple of years ago there would have been an outcry if MN had a daily mail homepage takeover and now most of you seem to think it’s great. Honestly, the absolute state of the lot of you.

I know, so sad, reading all sorts of papers, yet we manage to live with it.

That doesn't sound pompous at all.

GivenchyDahhling · 18/07/2020 23:03

BernardBlackMissesLangCleg · 18/07/2020 23:11

I don't think anyone has said it's great have they? they just don't really care

also, what do you think fascist means OP ?

TBHno · 18/07/2020 23:16

The Daily Mail is currently one of the best newspapers for reporting on women's rights. No joke.

Well, given that one of the elements of fascism is an extreme intolerance of divergent opinions, I fear the cognitive dissonance may be too much to cope with..
