Lightheaded and not judgey as I often spell things wrong!

Someone posted on a recipe group on Facebook asking for ideas of what to make with some beef mince. One of the replies was ‘spaghetti ballanayse’Grin

Anyone else seen any great ones!?

@GoodbyeToCare

Payed for paid. I've seen it a few times on here.
Around 20 years ago the local council rebuilt the city centre car park, complete with brand spanking new signs, questioning drivers:

"Have you payed and displayed?"

There were eventually corrections printed and stuck over the originals, but the misspelling remained for a surprisingly long time!

In our wider family, there is a child named 'Bethan'. She is nearly 12 years old. It has recently come to light that her DGF believes her name is spelled: BEFFAM. Hmm

On the town Facebook group someone was asking for advice on an area they were considering moving to.
One chap thought the area was quite rough and described it as 'bay route' which tickled me quite a bit.

TheWhalrus · 16/07/2020 19:58

I once saw a note (I think from a roofer doing some repairs to a friend's house) in which the roofer thanked my friend for her 'patients'

UnagiSalmonSkinRoll · 16/07/2020 20:00

I saw something online a while ago, some people were commenting on how they love the smell of their boyfriend's colon 😳....they meant cologne

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/07/2020 20:17

Not one I saw myself, but my dad was involved in a historical project - deciphering and transcribing medieval documents, including court records (if I recall correctly - this was 40 years ago), and one woman’s profession was given as ‘prawstitoot’.

HermioneMakepeace · 16/07/2020 21:06

AnneOfCleavage I think it’s meant to be ‘pension’ and I think the original poster was me 🤭.

BikeRunSki · 16/07/2020 21:10

@tillytoodles1

My sister was on the phone and said her name was Anne with an e. A letter came addressed to Ms Enn (Surname). She couldn't stop laughing.
In a similar situation, my colleague got a letter at work addressed to “Anne Withanee-Jackson”.

HipHipHippo If I lived near the sea I'd put up this sign pointing to the beach or it could be used as a name for a seaside home.

Avelosa · 17/07/2020 08:37

Well I’ve just seen another corker! A local tattoo studio posted their announcement re reopening, and asked anyone with any symptoms to ‘resceduall’ their appointment

I've thought of another.

Ex-SIL texted me once about someone's Arthur Rightus. She meant arthritis.

Fuckinellitsme · 17/07/2020 11:11

I was once invited to a wedding at our local redchester office.

MagentaRocks · 17/07/2020 12:58

A van drove past me with their business sign on it - selling stationary.

Avelosa · 17/07/2020 13:16

@MrsFruitcake Arthur Rightus sounds like a lovely manGrin

Both on local fb sites.
First was someone looking for "sank like" a table (something)
Second was someone wanting to know where they could get a "Cote for my cherwarwer" (coat, chihuahua)

myusernamewastakenbyme · 17/07/2020 16:41

Someone on an fb forum put that they were looking for an elecktrishonGrin

Greenandcabbagelooking · 17/07/2020 17:14

Pleese can this Fred go in classicks?

BikeRunSki · 17/07/2020 17:45

DD is only 8, but has just come up with “knowtist” for “noticed”.

Avelosa · 17/07/2020 19:17

@RiftGibbon I have seen SO many made up variations on the spelling of chihuahua, you’d think people would know how to spell the breed of their dog at least

Ex-SIL texted me once about someone's Arthur Rightus.

Oooh MIL takes anti-flammables for hers.

Avelosa · 17/07/2020 19:19

@tillytoodles1 @BikeRunSki DP’s sisters last name is Browne. She recently had a letter addressed to Mrs Brown-Withanee. I’m amazed more than one place has managed to cock up like that!

Avelosa on the same site someone was selling a decorative bottle that had held violet gin. They had a photo of it, which included the label.
"Vialet gin bottle for sale"

Horses4 · 17/07/2020 19:27

A classic for me in an old job was proofing a new temp’s work and discovering she had put “certifiable lady” instead of what the doctor had said - 35 year old lady Grin

kevinbacone · 17/07/2020 19:31

This is my favourite one ever. From the Facebook selling page someone was selling this lovely pair of pliemfs Grin
