For me, meeting a friend for a leisurely wander around the (wonderfully socially distanced) National Gallery, followed by cocktails at the end of the afternoon.

Being able to make tentative plans again.

Went for brunch yesterday - it was lovely. My plan is to enjoy summer while we can as things will be much harder to do safely and more shut down from autumn until spring I reckon

Going to the tip 😁 I had 3 months off work and couldn't do the garden properly because of the horrendous queues for the tip, I'm now back at work and go to the tip each day after work getting rid of all the bits that have been building up, makes me so happy 😂😂

Seeing friends and family again. No doubt.

Playgrounds
Days out to places like the zoo and local museum
Outdoor exercise class
For the DCs, their first greasy burger at an indusrial estate van- pre-McDonalds Grin
Looking forwards to getting back to the osteopath- my body has whinged about every run for nearly 2 months.

I'm going to a pub tomorrow and seeing some friends at the weekend.

July 4th was a big turning point. There was little difference until mid-June when interesting shops opened.

We’re in Scotland so a bit behind, but the thing that is going to bring me most joy is getting my hair cut next weekend!

Went out to outdoor restaurant with sister and a couple of friends. Had fish and chips, looked at the lake and boats, watched ducks and ducklings waddling around tables. The ducks love eating bits of chips and bread and fish. Drank Pinot grigio. Had a good time.

Going on a staycation and eating out every day.

Taking DD to our local theme park/amusements and allowing her to have fun doing an activity she loves for the first time in months.

Eating at a restaurant and having drinks at pubs/bars.

Getting my nails/hair done to get dressed up to go to said bars/pubs.

Going shopping. Being able to buy clothes in the shops.

The normality. Just being able to do what we want.

  1. Seeing my Mum
  2. Seeing my shielding friend
  3. Finding out today that I still have a job!

Nothing really. I absolutely loved the early days with no traffic, no crowds or noise, just birdsong. It was like going back in time, or on a retreat.

Now modern life has returned with an absolute vengeance and I utterly hate it.

Taking the kids to the park

Shmurf · 14/07/2020 03:19

I've enjoyed going back to work tbh. With the job I do it doesn't even feel like we're on lockdown, and I can spend 85% of my day exactly as I would've pre-Corona.
