Today I was in hospital having at CT for suspected clots on the lungs after having raised d-dimer, thankfully this has been ruled out. The CT scan did however show a lesion(sp?) on my liver. Just feeling a bit scared and anxious.

Checking back in with a lunchtime hello OP. I hope you are managing ok in hospital today and that you are getting somewhere with the tests. Do you think you will be staying in another night?
I hope you've managed to get the WiFi working a bit better.

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 15/07/2020 21:07

Hi op how are you doing? We are camping at the moment but i just wanted to pop on and say I'm thinking about you!

Haenow · 15/07/2020 21:35

Hospital WiFi is notoriously crap. It can cope with surfing the net but not watching something. If you’ve got enough data, can you watch something on your mobile? I find listening to music always keeps me calm and it blocks out the general noise of being in hospital. Take good care. Flowers

Thank you so much for checking on me, thats lovely. So I'm home now. No idea about why d-dimer was raised. The ECG all looked fine so that's good. Need an MRI so been booked under the 2 week wait as they didn't have space yesterday. My CT is being reviewed in their meeting today with gastro. Am expecting a phonecall later with an update. They are querying a camera down the throat too (don't know what that's called). Feel crappy still but partner let me have a great lie in today which helps as my youngest thinks 4.30am is the best time to play. Thank you all again for your kindness.

That's good, glad you're home.

AstridAv · 17/07/2020 10:10

The hospital were supposed to call yesterday after theyd reviewed my CT scan but didnt. I just had a phonecall though and I have the MRI of the liver on Monday so at least not long to wait although the urgency worries me a bit

dontdisturbmenow · 17/07/2020 10:13

I'm sorry they haven't called you back. How unfair when you've been waiting and minutes feel like hours.

I expect it is because they want to wait for the result of the MRI first but still unfair not to call to say do.

Another wait now until Monday but at least not so long considering what waits can be like.

Thinking of you OP xx

picklemewalnuts · 17/07/2020 10:31

It's because you are magical and mysterious, Astrid. They can't wait to have another look inside, see what makes you tick!

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 17/07/2020 17:25

How are you today op?

Daphnise · 17/07/2020 17:50

Honestly MN is not the best place to come for this.

As a person who has had a very serious, and not much understood condition, I'd really advise staying away from random public opinion, and internet reassurance.

A good doctor, and consultant is what I hope you have or can find of you don't.

Very best wishes.

picklemewalnuts · 17/07/2020 19:38

@Daphnise, noone's telling the OP she doesn't need to follow all this up. Just keeping her company and running distractions while she waits for each next appointment.

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 20/07/2020 09:47

Good luck today op, hoping you're OK and closer to getting some answers Flowers

AstridAv · 20/07/2020 12:16

@ItsSpittingEverybodyIn thank you. Ive had my MRI was supposed to be with contrast but no one told me I needed to express first so as I'm breastfeeding they couldn't use contrast. Waiting for a call from the hospital.

Random question as a side note. Does anyone else have a really visible pulse in their chest and stomach? Its annoying me!

OP posts:
ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 20/07/2020 12:45

I've always had that in my stomach! When I was really young with a lovely flat stomach it was really noticeable!

picklemewalnuts · 20/07/2020 12:58

🤦‍♀️

AstridAv · 20/07/2020 13:01

Interesting @ItsSpittingEverybodyIn did you ever see it in your chest? Obviously don't want to bother doctors if its trivial and I've had lots of tests lately. Think I'm just on high alertBlush

OP posts:
ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 20/07/2020 13:04

I didn't notice it there no, but it really doesn't sound like anything to be concerned about at all op

picklemewalnuts · 20/07/2020 15:02

It's awful when you have a weird or unidentified condition of some kind- you don't know what's important. This flaky skin on my left elbow, that pins and needles in my right toe...

I made a great big list to show the doc when they were diagnosing my Fibro. He didn't even ask! Trees of paper wasted, had I ever written it down! 🤣

ItsSpittingEverybodyIn · 23/07/2020 22:54

How are you doing op? Hopefully you've had some positive news by now.
