I love them, wear them with a tucked in top

Allinadaystwerk · 11/07/2020 18:15

The comments make me laugh. I'm rocking mine now and giving them a go...Life's too short

Worse I’ve started to the the pastel shades of jeans returning like the 90’s Calvin Klein

I had ice blue and strawberry milkshake pink

They were awful

Syrrup · 11/07/2020 19:02

I'm 5'9", size 12 and I love them. They're comfy and apparently I'm lucky because they're pretty flattering on me!

Allinadaystwerk · 11/07/2020 19:32

T I think you just gotta wear with confidence and go with the look. People took time to get used to skinnies right? We were very committed to our boot cut jeans 😆

I think most people look good in jeans, but it depends on the style.

I never got used to skinnies. Hate them as much now as I did when they first got inflicted upon us. I wouldn't mind, to each their own, but you literally couldn't buy ANYTHING else. Even stuff that claimed to be bootcut was skinny with a tiny little flare at the ankle. I didn't buy jeans for about eight years.

Everyone suits different jeans and some people find it really hard to find something that looks good. I wish jeans fashion would just fuck off and we could just always have a real range of cuts and washes so we could all find what suits us and just stick with it.

YouStupidBoy · 11/07/2020 19:56

I like my Topshop ones rolled up - I am a size 10 - 12 with small waist, generous thighs and a sort of high muscular bum which they actually seem to suit. I tuck tops in to keep some shape.

SarahBellam · 11/07/2020 20:42

Bootcut were always more flattering than any other cut. They seemed to balance me out. I wish they were back on fashion.

savetti · 11/07/2020 20:48

Oh, them!
I had some in the 80’s

CorianderLord · 11/07/2020 21:24

Love them. I haven't worn any jeans that aren't high waisted since I was about 14 so they work for me

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 11/07/2020 21:47

SarahBellam yup me too. I have noticed them coming back slowly, I'm hoping in the next few years they're back in full force. Or boyfriend cut, they suited my shape too.

Topseyt · 11/07/2020 22:04

I have some as shorts and I like them. I haven't tried them as full length jeans though.

I'm not fashion oracle of the year though.

NeutrinoWrangler · 11/07/2020 22:20

I don't care what anyone else wears, but for myself, I hate high-waisted mom jeans and skinny jeans. I prefer low-rise boot-cuts or at least straight-leg jeans.

I agree with ShebaShimmyShake that it would be nice if more shops offered a range of styles and cuts of jeans instead of carrying only the latest fads and trends.

Jeans are a bit of an unknown quantity aren't they ? I quite like wearing River Island 'Molly' jeans but they tend to slip down and I am constantly pulling them up. I can't work out if they are too big or my arse is slipping down with age :(

If they are comfy and look nice then 'Mom' jeans rock.

Wallywobbles · 11/07/2020 22:27

DSD looks like a bag lady in them, she's short and curvy.

thegrassisgreenernow · 12/07/2020 11:22

@aquashiv

Omfg Banarama jeans. Not a chance in hell will I wear those. They're hideous.
Yes, this exactly Grin Grin Grin. Now this has been written it can never be unseen. And even they looked terrible in them.

Can anyone find a pic of someone looking good in them?

PoodleMoth · 12/07/2020 19:43

They don't look flattering on anyone but if you feel happy and comfortable that is the important thing!

tenlittlecygnets · 12/07/2020 19:44

My 16yo dd loves them. They're more acceptable in sixth form than tight jeans...

h3av3n · 12/07/2020 19:46

I find them flattering and they can give a curvier 'thicker' look to the body

h3av3n · 12/07/2020 19:48

To people saying they're unflattering, I think it depends how baggy they are on the bum,and if they're highwaisted. If they're high waisted with a belt they can give a very curvy look and make the thighs and bum look bigger because of the extra fabric

tenlittlecygnets · 12/07/2020 20:00

Hmm, my dd is a size 6 and they are flattering on her. Depends on the cut and howyou're built.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 12/07/2020 20:22

I like them! And I think they suit me, though according to everyone else here I must be deluded. All the teenagers and young people around here wear them, with trainers and cropped T-shirts.

lljkk · 13/07/2020 11:57

Can someone show a pic of the "mom" means being unflattering -- and can you honestly say that any other style of jeans would have been flattering on the same person?

verybritishproblems · 13/07/2020 12:14

They are designed for curves - if you don’t have a defined waist then they won’t look great.

Untrue. I have a small waist but a big bum so they hang off me and make me look a few sizes bigger. My waist doesn’t help at all.
