No. I have wide hips and a bit of a post pregnancy overhang. These jeans look spectacularly bad on me. Truly awful.

Feellikedancingyeah · 11/07/2020 14:25

What are these?

Allinadaystwerk · 11/07/2020 14:26

Hmmm hearing these comments I think the jury is still out. I'm 50 btw. But young at heart 😁

I really don't like them and I think they look bad on pretty much everyone, unless you are a size 6 with a perfect hourglass shape. I'm tall and don't have that shape so they look bad on me.

Redcrayons · 11/07/2020 14:29

Not for me, they emphasize my mum tum.

I prefer ones cut just on my belly button, so they contain my belly and muffin top.

Allinadaystwerk · 11/07/2020 14:34

These are similar to mine

I do not have that tiny waist though 🙁

I don't like them. They remind me of the horrible cheap jeans my mum would buy me from Poundstretchers in the 80's. I think you could pull them off if you are tall and toned.

I keep looking at them, I love them on others but I'm yet to try them on myself. It's going to be my next purchase when I find a nice pair.

shinyredbus · 11/07/2020 14:47

Not for me - they just swallow me - I look big in them and it’s not so flattering.

damnthatanxiety · 11/07/2020 14:50

I like Mom jeans but I want to know, are they basically high rise boyfriend jeans?

DishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 11/07/2020 14:51

I like them in theory but i am big of thigh and I find they just dont fit me

I think lots of people look good in them though

beatrixpotterspencil · 11/07/2020 14:53

I really dislike them.
felt refreshing at first, next to the endless sea of skinnies, but no.

on young, old, slim, curvy - I think they are uncomfortable, and due to the heaviness of denim, they create a weird gut pouch on all bodies. to me they are the essence of flump (not frump).

when I see young women wearing them or teens, I always think they'd look better in another style.

but its just personal opinion. I am no expert.
clothes should not have to be flattering, so whatever Grin

Toilenstripes · 11/07/2020 14:54

They’re awful. They flatten and lengthen the bum, and generally give the wearer an awkward shape.

beatrixpotterspencil · 11/07/2020 14:54

I don't think they look good on models either.
they're like a denim parachute went down and landed around someones legs.

fantasmasgoria1 · 11/07/2020 14:55

I'm 5 ft 8 and a size 12 and I have a cord pair and a denim pair and I like them. They have a paperbag waist and I wear a belt with them. They look really good and remind me of jeans from the 80s!

beatrixpotterspencil · 11/07/2020 14:55

true! I had a mad flat arse in my toyshop mom jeans a few years ago and slowly came to my senses.

it was nice to show the waist off for a bit but that's it.

beatrixpotterspencil · 11/07/2020 14:56

topshop

Notcontent · 11/07/2020 14:57

I quite like them but I think you have to try on lots of pairs to find a pair that is comfortable and looks good.

DrCoconut · 11/07/2020 15:06

Those would look awful on me. Jeans that are not close fitting add width to me and make me look short and fat.

Areyouactuallyseriousrightnow · 11/07/2020 15:06

Absolute love em. High waisted, a bit turned up, pair of converse, and just about any top will look good!

lljkk · 11/07/2020 15:12

I don't understand fashion so I don't know what you mean.
Is it any brand of high-waisted jeans or just these specific ones from ASOS?

In the 90s we started getting low cut jeans, so why does the ad say "90s inspired"? I think of high-waisted as 1970s style.

I struggle to care what other people wear. Low cut things do not suit me, however.

Batmanandbobbin · 11/07/2020 15:14

I love them, like you usual size 12, only love them rolled up though Grin

MolotovMocktail · 11/07/2020 15:29

I think they’re almost universally unflattering.
