Sun rising too early - AIBU

jackdaw141 · 10/07/2020 13:21

AIBU? This has been going on for the last 12 weeks or so. The sun rises so early - this morning it was up at 4.45 ffs.

Spreading its rays against the window, bouncing around off the walls and the ceiling when I am trying to sleep. Is it too much to ask that it stays below the horizon until 8am during weekdays but 9am at the weekend and bank holidays. I get up early and am normally up by 6am, but that's not the point. If I wanted to lie in I couldn't with all that light going on. I admit it is not all year round, but even so day in, day out it's a bit bloody much for months on end.

Call the council and get them to slap an ASBO on it. Might take 6-8 weeks, but it should sort the problems out.

titchy · 10/07/2020 13:32

Don't worry once we've properly left the EU it'll be fine.

iklboo · 10/07/2020 13:38

Go no contact and log it with 101

MistyGreenAndBlue · 10/07/2020 13:39

So.... you've never heard of blackouts? Grin

JaniceWebster · 10/07/2020 13:42

You know you could get blackout curtains, don't you?
I like it. Either I sleep through it, or I can go for a walk or a jog early morning.

Winter is flooded by street lights anyway, so you get woken up anyway.

LTB!

I needed this chuckle today! Thank you! 😂

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/07/2020 13:47

I love the sunrise, work nights so lovely to see. It tells me ive got a few hours left to work. Try sleeping through the day, with the bastard shining in your room.

FunTimes2020 · 10/07/2020 13:47

The sun is a narc, go NC!

KitchenDancefloor · 10/07/2020 13:47

Open your window and yell 'Did you mean to be so rude?' at the sun.

It is the perfect riposte for all situations.

SingingSands · 10/07/2020 13:49

It's just so positive isn't it? Sometimes I just want a little wallow in darkness but there's the sun, spreading positivity and light and cheering me up. Rude.

Fatted · 10/07/2020 13:49

Don't worry, it will catch covid soon after it's been going out all day, every day and traveling around the world for the last three months!!

2020Rainbow · 10/07/2020 13:51

Just be thankful you get to wake up every day and see the sunlight....

Howzaboutye · 10/07/2020 13:52

I would call NASA if I were you

ListeningQuietly · 10/07/2020 13:53

The days are getting shorter already
it will be nice and dark for you soon

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 10/07/2020 13:54

Don't forget the head tilt Kitchen

KitchenDancefloor · 10/07/2020 13:55

And the tinkly laugh @BernardsarenotalwaysSaints

Achangeagain1 · 10/07/2020 13:56

I’d call the councils out of hours nuisance team if I were you. Totally unacceptable but am expecting a drip feed that you have a sleeping baby that’s kept the sun awake all night tbh

ComDummings · 10/07/2020 13:56

Tell the sun to get in the fucking bin, the audacity of that twat to rise in the morning is unbelievable.

MitziK · 10/07/2020 13:58

Have a strong word with it tomorrow morning, and if it doesn't listen, continue to do so for about the next two months.

It'll finally get the idea that you're not to be messed with.

HavelockVetinari · 10/07/2020 14:00

Agreed, OP! And once the sun's up, the fecking birds starting roaring at me from the trees, it's a proper racket that's audible through my double glazing. Unacceptable! Angry

Coffeecak3 · 10/07/2020 14:02

Give the sun a taste of it’s own medicine by leaning out of the bedroom window and blowing a whistle loudly!

fabulousathome · 10/07/2020 14:05

A silk eyemask is the only way to defeat the sun darling.

Channel your inner Hollywood star.

Blackout curtains

PlanDeRaccordement · 10/07/2020 14:10

Move to the equator. You don’t have to put up with the suns inconstancy.
