Sun rising too early - AIBU

AIBU? This has been going on for the last 12 weeks or so. The sun rises so early - this morning it was up at 4.45 ffs.

Spreading its rays against the window, bouncing around off the walls and the ceiling when I am trying to sleep. Is it too much to ask that it stays below the horizon until 8am during weekdays but 9am at the weekend and bank holidays. I get up early and am normally up by 6am, but that's not the point. If I wanted to lie in I couldn't with all that light going on. I admit it is not all year round, but even so day in, day out it's a bit bloody much for months on end.

Better still write SHIT on your face with shit. That’ll learn it.

I swear a woman in Spain claimed ownership of the sun. IIRC a group of skin cancer sufferers tried to sue her.

Well, the Americans have unilaterally claimed the moon as theirs. Any time your washing gets darked on, you know whom to sue.

TheMamaYo · 10/07/2020 17:14

What is wrong with you, OP? You clearly need to get a backbone and have an open and honest conversation about it. You're an adult, for goodness sake.

Also, no is a complete sentence.

Also, just smile and states that it doesn't work for you. No need to get into the details of why not. But maybe LTB anyway. Make sure you come and update us though.

I would have snapped and farted, for sure.

Postcode is SP4 7DE

Aaaaaahhhh, THAT explains it!

Probably missing the point here, but why does it have its own postcode? Whoever is sending mail there? Whom do they suppose is going to read it? Which insurers need it to base their premiums on, just in case it should wish to take out a policy on anything?!

Jaxhog · 10/07/2020 17:32

You are so, so right. It wakes the birds, who wake the cats, who then want their breakfast at some unearthly time of the day. We've tried earplugs and eyeshades, but they don't really work. Roll on Winter!

Just get the Convoy to pull their buses round you like a nice set of blinds

ArticFreeze · 10/07/2020 17:47

It used to wake me up but now I’ve not blackout blinds and blackout curtains. Some mornings when it’s very bright it somehow creeps through the gaps and wakes me up. Maybe the solution is to live in the Antarctic during our summer, it’ll be very dark there lol!

QuestionableMouse · 10/07/2020 18:07

See I have very efficient black out blinds...

But they're on frigging velux windows.

So you can have the windows open and get fresh air while being blinded or cook in the dark.

Very inconvenient design.
@Smallsteps88 But we do not have any glass in our windows. We just have like openings every now and then. In fact it is more that the house is just open and built of pillars and things.
Talk about a drip feed.
After all the helpful advice about windows, curtains and blinds. You've wasted our time, you've wasted your time and you've led us on quite the merry dance.
I bet after slagging off the sun, now you're going to tell us you worship it? Well OP, you've made your horizontal stone plinth bed and now you can lie in it.

KitchenDancefloor · 10/07/2020 19:15

Or is this a reverse. Are you the sun?

MistyGreenAndBlue · 10/07/2020 19:44

I have the opposite problem. Don't mind him being an early riser but ffs it's almost ten pm. GO TO FUCKING BED!

beatrixpotterspencil · 10/07/2020 19:56

LTB.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 10/07/2020 22:57

YABU & need to give your head a big wobble.

We need a diagram.

The spiders have it worse as their darkening hours have been curtailed.

Poor old Sun having to work these extra long shifts & you're so bloody ungrateful.

Finally have you thought about saying hello to the Sun, she might be lonely.

NoMoreReluctantCustodians · 10/07/2020 23:46

I feel your pain OP. I have blackout blinds and lined curtains but still the light manages to creep in round the edges Angry

Got to go now. I'll be back in 4 months to moan about the dark nights and mornings Grin
