To ask, does anyone have sex like they do TV dramas?

During lockdown I’ve been watching The Affair, it’s a great drama but I am wondering if the sex reflects anyone’s real life? Even before 4 x children I don’t remember sex like that on tap 24/7, starting to wonder if I’ve missed out. I don’t even fancy Dominic West but I feel a bit upset that I’ve never been in a relationship like this.

If we all shagged like they do on TV & in films, we'd probably all be doing that instead of watching the telly Wink

Candyfloss99 · 08/07/2020 22:08

I do love some rip each others clothes off on the stairs before you even make it to the bedroom sex.

PenelopePitstop49 · 08/07/2020 22:09

Our sex life is a distant memory these days but when our DC were small, were more of the "quick, no one else is awake but don't be long, i need to sleep" variety, rather than long drawn out sessions with glamorous hair, make up and lingerie.................

Anyone every successfully had shower sex without one of you getting cold or half drowned?
No. Ditto sex in a pool. The bath wasn't a success either because I like mine the temperature of lava and you could make ice cubes in his.

StormBaby · 08/07/2020 22:15

Have had shower sex, yes @TheMandalorian, but it was a walk in shower so not sure that counts. I actually broke my knuckle bracing myself against the tiles and now have a permanently arthritic hand.

Was worth it.

SonjaMorgan · 08/07/2020 22:17

Before I got fat yes.

LunaNorth · 08/07/2020 22:21

Shower sex is a bit disappointing.

One of you is always cold.

The water washes your, erm, juices away so it’s a bit uncomfortable.

Then you get out so you can do it properly and you’ve got cold wet hair and goosebumps.

Rubbish.

crimsonlake · 08/07/2020 22:23

This thread is making me laugh :)
Every woman on tv seems to go on top, yes and the back arching, sheet clutching. Far too energetic for me, I am too lazy.

redastherose · 08/07/2020 22:23

Shower sex, yes but you have to be the right sizes to make it work standing up!

Like on tv, no never. I am adventurous and enjoy sex sessions but have no young children who are likely to interrupt!

I also have plenty of flabby bits and like pp's would get cramp in certain positions 😆

No woman over a size 10 and over 35 ever has sex on tv apparently, although us lesser mortals enjoy fulfilling sex lives whilst being larger and much older ladies!

Ponoka7 · 08/07/2020 22:24

I was Widowed in my early 30's. I'd been with my DH since I was 16. I didn't want another relationship, so I had a few fuck buddies, in their 20's on the go. I put a lot of effort into my sex life and it outdid anything you see on the television.

I find shower sex too restricting, but if your embarrassed by what can happen during anal, then it's worth a go.

Has anyone ever been successful shagging against a wall? (asking for a friend Blush)

I was coming on to post the same thing.

Also, does anyone else actually sweat that much during sex?! The sex scenes in white lines was ridiculous

Not sure about the wall sex, but yes to the sex sweat! Have had that on numerous occasions, makes for some interesting noises 😂

Shower sex is the worst

Never managed it standing up either I’m too short

Love51 · 08/07/2020 22:28

I think I had successful shower sex. He may have been cold, but he doesn't mind the cold. I say I think I was successful as I think I may have got pregnant by it.
It was easier because it was a shower over a bath, not a walk in shower, those are usually a bit awkward.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 08/07/2020 22:28

sex on tap

sounds uncomfortable?
And hard to get a plumber at the moment.

Socialdistancegintonic · 08/07/2020 22:29

YANBU - I have had sex like this, pretty amazing! It felt like anyway. In the affair it was always very passionate so they upped the ‘sex on the counter’. Sex in the bed is just as good!

Unfortunately the men that I’ve had sex like this with, have mostly known they are great too - and have had an ego to match in the end. My last long relationship, where I had a child with the man, was like this. He seemed genuinely lovely and responsible too. I thought I’d hit the jackpot! Turned out he was sexting loads and loads of other women too. So that sex full of passion? It wasn’t passion and love, it was just lust and that’s often only so good when at least one of you genuinely feels in love I find.

Blackcurrant66 · 08/07/2020 22:30

I don’t think I’m unusual in that I have sex with no clothes on, not even a slinky nightdress, and if things are getting very heated I don’t tend to stay under the duvet either.

Socialdistancegintonic · 08/07/2020 22:30

Yes have been successful shagging against a wall. It’s quite tricky and the man must be strong! Not sure my thighs could take it now though...

Xiaoxiong · 08/07/2020 22:32

Against a wall - only once when DH and I were newly dating and I was a lot lighter than I am now and my coccyx was so sore by being bashed against the wall I called time after 2 thrusts. We moved to the floor where I got carpet burn on my knees and DH got it on his shoulders. Glamorous!!

LunaNorth · 08/07/2020 22:33

If I tried shagging against the wall nowadays we’d have to get a surveyor in to check it was strong enough to load-bear.

JoysOfString · 08/07/2020 22:34

Not exactly, but I did have rampant sex on tap / all day with an ex in my youth. he was extremely fit and sex-crazed and I fancied him like mad so was quite happy to at first. We broke a bed once! Blush (to be fair it was a flimsy bed). Not shower sex but we did shag in a wood once :o However as time went on and he still wanted sex all the time it got a bit much as I could never want it as much as he did.

So after him I got with my exP who was not really that into sex and I didn't fancy him as much :( so had an 18-year relationship including having kids and much less sex...

PlanDeRaccordement · 08/07/2020 22:34

I get tired of TV sex because it’s so predictable and boring. From the kissing and the clothes flying off to the stupid orgasm faces. Then the post sex chat or snuggle. YAWN
I’d rather they just hint so you know sex happened and then skip to the next plot worthy scene.

WinWinnieTheWay · 08/07/2020 22:34

DH and I were very enthusiastic back in the day, but we haven't have tv drama sex.

weathervane1 · 08/07/2020 22:35

We copied a scene from a film whilst on holiday where my partner lay back naked on the corner of the pool with feet dangling in the water whilst I seductively went down to give some decent oral...only for me to be stung on the hand by a scorpion that came out of the villa's stone wall... one hell of a swelling and a dead scorpion in the pool the next day. We tried the same a year or two later - different country and villa - and the scorpion's cousin did exactly the same thing. Never again... once bitten etc.

Cruddles · 08/07/2020 22:38

Sex scenes from 80s movies involved rolling around under the sheets kissing, then lying there with one of those sheets that cover her from the neck down and him from the waist down
