I know who the owner is because he commented on the photo after it was uploaded to Facebook. He tried to defend himself by saying he's just "having a laugh" but he has no intention of removing the sticker.

That is sick but will/can the police do anything? I'm not sure its illegal to have a bumper sticker (even a sick one) on your car. I might be tempted to report it just incase they can.

Why wouldn’t this be classed as a hate crime? Rape is illegal, and so for someone to put this in his car, whether serious or not, it should be treated as a crime imo.

Personally, I'd solve it by spray painting the shit out of his car, in an area with no CCTV and a hood up. I appreciate that this is not the right thing to do though. I would absolutely do it though and without a moment's guilt.

Definitely report. If we are to have hate crime legislation, it is ridiculous that misogyny is not a category. Unfortunately misogyny is woven so deeply into the fabric of our society that we expect it. I mean, he's hardly going to get in trouble for a sticker when the actual crime it references is so poorly prosecuted as to be virtually legal.

Maybe if people started making more of a fuss abbot this kind of thing the police might get more interested. At least with this we can do sth about it in relative safety and with ease - more difficult when confronted with attitudes like this in person

Yes it could be a decent 4 public order act? Police will stick a report on for it. I would imagine if you have registration number police would be going to have a chat at least. Reports go on for a lot less than that.
