Trump knows he has to win the election at all costs. The presidency will be the only thing to keep him out of jail.

HarryHarry · 02/07/2020 20:46

Having watched the Netflix doc I started wondering if Jeffrey Epstein might have faked his own death. I know there were photos of his dead body being removed from prison but I feel like someone with his wealth and power could have easily staged them. It would be in the interests of his high-profile friends to help him get away with it to avoid being implicated in his crimes themselves. Perhaps Ghislaine will pull something similar.

Roussette · 02/07/2020 21:14

Wasn't there actually footage of Epstein on a stretcher, as opposed to just photos?

I am just glad Ghislaine has been arrested, she is as bad as Epstein, in fact worse, because having a female around made the grooming of the girls that much easier, they would've been lulled into a false sense of security

@SisterVanHelsing

But Prince Andrew can't sweat BananaPop2020 Grin.

Which I thought was very strange. When do they ever show a dead body’s face when transferring it? They’re always fully covered in a body bag.

Griselda1 · 02/07/2020 23:34

Isn't there a disparity in the dates when she's been charged for these various offences and when he was involved.Still must be causing a lot of concern.

Alwaysthesun · 03/07/2020 09:15

She'll get COVID-19 absolutely

CatWhisperer86 · 03/07/2020 09:22

She will be offed before she is able to finger him or any other big names.

KenAdams · 03/07/2020 09:26

Good job Pizza Express in Woking will open tomorrow so Andy can get away from it all.

ChangeThePassword · 03/07/2020 09:28

Those poor, poor girls

Please don't call them that. It makes them sound weak and they are not. These women are survivors, they have come through this, from what I've seen, with strength and dignity, and they are no longer children.

If by "he" you mean Epstein, wouldn't that mean she was pimping the girls out on her own account? (Unless there was some other Svengali involved I guess)

Either way, what a woman - and this is someone Andrew described as a close friend Hmm

Exactly this. Thank you for acknowledging their strength. They are survivors. It has taken them great strength to come this far. I know what it takes to take report the man that abused you and be prepared to go to court.

Yes, and she went to Balmoral with Epstein.

Taken from a Times article behind a paywall...

William Sweeney, assistant director of the FBI in New York, said that his officers had been “discreetly keeping tabs on Maxwell’s whereabouts throughout”. He added: “Recently we learnt she had slithered away to a gorgeous property in New Hampshire, continuing to live a life of privilege while her victims live with the trauma inflicted upon them years ago.”

The US authorities urged the courts to resist any application for bail, saying that Ms Maxwell had “an extraordinary incentive to flee” because of her ready access to large amounts of money and her international connections. Since 2016 the FBI has identified 15 bank accounts linked to Ms Maxwell, who has three passports, citizenship in two other countries and few meaningful US ties, giving her “absolutely no reason” to stay in the country. She has travelled at least 15 times internationally in the past three years, including to the UK, Japan and Qatar.

Very murky

Bluntness100 · 03/07/2020 13:32

It’s going to be interesting to watch this play out but my guess is she will deny everything and continue to deny it, evidence may well be “he said she said“ and purely circumstantial.

If they have concrete evidence that would see her in jail then she may throw some folks under the bus.

It’s interesting she entered no plea...

Puzzledandpissedoff · 03/07/2020 13:41

Yes, and she went to Balmoral with Epstein

What, you're saying that both Ghislaine and Epstein went to Balmoral?? Somehow that had passed me by, but while the RF undoubtably already have plenty of dirt they'd rather hide, it seems a bit much to invite two scumbags like that

I guess we'll never know why the FBI apparently knew Maxwell's whereabouts but took no action to bring her in, but now I'm wondering whether any of their top brass were also associated with Epstein

I suspect there may be some horse-trading going on. She might agree to plead guilty to lesser charges, get a short sentence in a cushy prison, in exchange for staying silent about some of big names involved.

Trump hung out with Epstein back in the day.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 03/07/2020 13:44

It’s interesting she entered no plea ...

If they already knew where she was - and even had access to her, if only via lawyers - it may be possible a plea bargain's already been sorted out behind closed doors

As far as I know there's no suggestion he did anything he should be worried about being arrested for, only that he is of interest as a witness?

Roussette · 03/07/2020 14:16

Here

What, you're saying that both Ghislaine and Epstein went to Balmoral??

A pheasant shoot in Sandringham in December 2000.

(Excuse the Sun link!)

And Balmoral was in June I believe, excuse DM link

Here

Roussette · 03/07/2020 14:18

So how Andrew can pretend it wasn't that much of a friendship, I do not know.

I was talking about his interview with DD yesterday. It's up there with Cummings pathetic Q&A in the garden. PA's is my top one for bullshit and flannel.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 03/07/2020 16:22

Consider yourself forgiven for the Sun link, Roussette Wink - however ghastly, info's always good

As far as I know there's no suggestion he did anything he should be worried about being arrested for, only that he is of interest as a witness?

In that case why not gladly help the investigators - you know, like he said he would? After all with Pitch@Palace gone, his public role ended, various "friends" in prison or dead and even his daughter's wedding cancelled it's not as if he has much else to do

Just to update, it's reported that Ghislaine's now been charged - quite a good piece actually, with plenty of clear background to the case:
