Thank you so much for your responses. They really helped me come to a decision. I went to my appt yesterday. It was extremely quiet. Had my temp taken on arrival (nurse in full PPE), was the only person in the waiting room apart from the receptionist and then was seen by the Consultant & clinical nurse - again both in full PPE (although the nurse wasn't wearing gloves). I used the hand gel a lot! Unfortunately, due to the nature of the examination, I brushed hands with both HCPs but scrubbed my hands thoroughly. Put all my clothing on a hot wash when I got home, sprayed anything unwashable with anti-bac spray and had a hot shower. I appreciate this is possibly an overreaction but this is the first time I have been in another building since 26 Feb! So this was a bit of a shock to my system. Another positive aspect was that I found wearing a face mask very comfortable - which is something else I had been concerned about. My results should be back in the next few days. Just now need to keep myself busy and distract myself from checking for corona symptoms...!
