Barely seen a soul since mid March, which has been great in terms of coughs and colds in our house.

Yet I've woken up an hour ago with a sore throat. It honestly feels red raw Sad

Where on earth has this come from?!

Allergies?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 30/06/2020 06:49

Slept with your mouth open?

Crockodoodle · 30/06/2020 07:25

Screaming at Howie?

KatherineJaneway · 30/06/2020 07:26

Do you go out shopping? Get it delivered?

MummyGoingItAlone · 30/06/2020 07:27

I’ve got a sore throat and it’s coming from a wisdom tooth. I didn’t realise until I brushed my teeth and found my tooth super sore and swollen. Throat and gland is only sore on the side of the tooth but tooth only hurts if I touch it.

Could also be allergies

whiplashy · 30/06/2020 07:30

well you’re not living in a sealed bubble

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 30/06/2020 07:36

Screaming at Howie? Grin

I last left the house on Thursday.

Loads of ways you could’ve caught a virus, or could be bacterial.

One of my DC and I have had 5/6 colds since lockdown.

Autumnwalksx · 30/06/2020 07:38

Temperature changes?

Last Thursday I thought I'd die from the heat. The weekend could have blown me away. Yesterday was cold and we had jumpers on!

Weird summer. Can't get used to anything

bananallamas · 30/06/2020 07:42

My brother had Covid and his only symptom was a sore throat... no cough. No temp.

I don't know if this means you're eligible for testing or not as sore throat isn't one of the key symptoms. But worth considering as a possibility?

magicmarkerz · 30/06/2020 07:44

A sore throat to me usually means I’m not getting enough sleep

magicmarkerz · 30/06/2020 07:45

It’s a shame a sore throat isn’t one of the ‘official’ symptoms so that you can get a test, as so many people with Coronavirus have said that a red raw throat was one of their symptoms.

Personally I’d be getting a test ordered

Livpool · 30/06/2020 08:20

Me too - I assumed it it was the damp weather and allergies

GrizzlebumsMum · 30/06/2020 08:22

I get a sore throat when I’ve got a new batch of tonsil stones to deal with.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 30/06/2020 08:25

I didnt think of allergies. I dont have any known ones, nor hayfever, but maybe I've developed it?

OP posts:
InMySpareTime · 30/06/2020 08:25

Could be hay fever, the rain has brought the high level pollen down onto lower surfaces. I've had no hay fever while the weather was sunny, but since the rain I've had a sore throat and itchy face (classic hay fever).
See if an antihistamine improves it.

Sheenais · 30/06/2020 08:26

Allergies, dehydration, hangover, loads of reasons

user1493413286 · 30/06/2020 08:27

I had a cold a few weeks ago; got tested and didn’t have Covid and was quite surprised I’d managed to catch a cold when I hadn’t been anywhere and DH never got the cold

PlausibleSuit · 30/06/2020 08:29

Could be a stress/anxiety reaction. I get a sore and achey throat if I've been tense and anxious for a sustained period of time.

Pinot4me · 30/06/2020 08:29

It’s worth getting tested. Just in case.
You don’t need to have any of the official symptoms.
I hope you feel better soon

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 30/06/2020 08:30

I often get a sore throat when just a bit tired/run down. If I take it easy and put myself to bed at a decent hour for once it disappears overnight.

MigGril · 30/06/2020 08:31

Covid is very contagious, have you been shopping at all. Picked up any post that's been delivered to your house?

Apparently they have treated people who are vaunrable and have caught it from there shopping delivery.

Although it could be somthing else as well.

dontdisturbmenow · 30/06/2020 08:32

One hour if adore throat and you are assuming you got a virus? Could be many things. If it's still on later today and tomorrow and gets worse, then you could question it.

Also had a friend who got a positive result for Covid when her only symptom was a sore throat.

Dulra · 30/06/2020 08:35

I have had a sore throat on and off for weeks. I think it is due to being run down. Not covid related have been having it since Feb.

IlanaWexler · 30/06/2020 08:36

Have you started sleeping with a fan in your room? That always dries my throat out.
