To ask if anything went wrong on your wedding day?

OP posts:
Royalbloo · 25/06/2020 19:16

Yeah, stacked it during my first dance. It was on video...! I had fun!

Mumteedum · 25/06/2020 19:16

Yes... I said I do and he turned out to be a shit. (sorry..
Not helpful)

TheGlitterFairy · 25/06/2020 19:18

It rained on mine (overseas - should have been sunny!)! We had to move the ceremony etc inside but it was a fab day and the rain stopped long enough for drinks and profits outside.

Apparently it’s lucky if it rains on your wedding day.....8 years this year so you never know!! :)

PintOfBovril · 25/06/2020 19:19

There was a fight at mine.

Nottherealslimshady · 25/06/2020 19:19

Honestly, not a thing, it was perfect and everything we could have hoped for. Some people didn't turn up that we were expecting but not really bothered.

Merryoldgoat · 25/06/2020 19:20

Candles set a breadbasket alight during the speeches.

Leapinglambs · 25/06/2020 19:20

Soooo many things! Dress wouldn’t fasten, photographer got lost, missed drinks reception, coordinator kept shouting at us because timings were going wrong. Ended up married though so it was all worth it!

2anddone · 25/06/2020 19:20

I said 'I do'
His mates turned up to the evening reception drunk
My cousin passed out through drink
We had a row and I slept in my chief bridesmaids room...it was the beginning of the end for us!

namesnames · 25/06/2020 19:21

Yes.

My friend arrived in a wedding dress.

It's been the talk of our group for years.

She looked more bridal the I did.

Lickyicelollies · 25/06/2020 19:21

The meat of our wedding breakfast main course was effectively raw and a few guests got food poisoning.

june2007 · 25/06/2020 19:22

Something goes wrong for everyone. My brothers the kitchen seemed to loose a layer of the cake. (or at least it was unacounted for.)
Friends Disco din,t show.
Another friend car Brooke down on way to wedding. (but they got a lift from a passing classic or vintage car.)
Another forgot Champaign.
But to be honest they were all wonderful occasions. Mine I had forgotten to ask anyone to do a reading for the church, thankfully my sister did it.

JacobReesMogadishu · 25/06/2020 19:22

Not on the wedding day but the night before.

My best friend screamed a load of abuse at me and said she wasn’t coming to the wedding. Apparently I’d really insulted her by not asking her to be a bridesmaid.....I didn’t want any adult bridesmaids and never realised she was upset. Her daughter was going to be my only bridesmaid but her services were withdrawn.

Funnily enough we haven’t spoken since.

Onebabyandamadcat · 25/06/2020 19:22

Some of my husband's family brought two huge wedding gnomes and had the venue put them next to the cake as a surprise. I had done my venue up in black and white and "elegant" and slap bang in the middle were these huge gnomes. They were our wedding gift from that couple - I still have no idea what they were thinking!

FairfaxAikman · 25/06/2020 19:22

My veil blew into the North Sea, my photographer kindly retrieved it and broke his glasses.

More minor:
Our table decorations were balloons and supposed to have table numbers on them. They didn't, meaning we had to use the hotels ugly table number holders.

ToLiveInPeace · 25/06/2020 19:23

My mum was much more interested in spending time with her grandchildren than in my wedding, with the result (long story short) that I ended up with very little time to get ready. I got a little tetchy and became the bad person in the scenario. Kids were later allowed to run amok by my sister as we said our vows. Not great memories...

ShanghaiDiva · 25/06/2020 19:23

Dh’s grandfather refused to come to the church as it was not catholic, had a big argument with dh’s dad and went home on the train. Dh is not a practising catholic, grandfather knew from invitation it was not a Catholic Church and we would have been perfectly fine if he had told us he would only come to the reception. Dh’s grandma stayed and went to both the ceremony and the reception.
On the day, we knew nothing about this until we left the church and wondered where he was. Silly old bugger.

Outfoxed · 25/06/2020 19:23

My shoe broke walking down the aisle, my brother in law had a massive allergic reaction to mislabeled food and had to go to the hospital, and my dog was very vocal during the ceremony despite not being a barker usually!

Could have done without the allergic reaction, but other than that, loud dogs and broken shoe...wouldnt change a thing!

JacobReesMogadishu · 25/06/2020 19:24

At my brothers wedding afterwards en route to the reception me and best man realised we’d forgotten to get the actual wedding certificate which had been signed.

Traffic was awful so we dumped the car and sprinted across the town centre, me in full bridesmaid dress, back to the church. Never told my brother. Grin

ECBC · 25/06/2020 19:25

First dance was way more embarrassing than I thought it would be but luckily the song we picked was really short. Some of the food got substituted as they’d run out due to the wedding the day before and someone started loading some of our lawn games on to a van thinking they were from a previous wedding. Luckily we spotted it when we were having our photos taken. All in all only a few minor things. Still an amazing day

Outfoxed · 25/06/2020 19:25

Oh and it was supposed to be outdoors but it ended up pissing it down all day and we had to squeeze the ceremony into a random secondary room attached to the big main room

Merryoldgoat · 25/06/2020 19:25

Wtaf!! Shock
MashedPotatoBrainz · 25/06/2020 19:26

Yes, a cousin I barely know turned up, invited my my mother, with her shithead boyfriend. We made them welcome but shithead boyfriend decided that the waiting staff were dissing him and tried to fight them and everyone else. Thankfully the bestman was a 6ft4 ex special forces and he took no prisoners.

IagoWithABlackberry · 25/06/2020 19:27

At my cousin's, the (very long) train of her wedding dress caught on fire after a candle toppled over.

I've also been to quite a few where fights break out and one where the bride, at the altar, shouted that she didn't want to do the. "It's nothing personal, Liam, but I really hate being with you."
My family are not good at marriage.

FairfaxAikman · 25/06/2020 19:27

Oh and as we were getting photos in the car prior to leaving the church some arsehole buskers with an electric amp decided they couldn't wait 15 mins to strike up their shitty music.

Our chauffeur took aim with the champagne bottle and hit them with the cork 😂

BroodyBridget · 25/06/2020 19:28

There was a fire at my wedding venue (where I'd stayed the night before and was getting ready to leave from on my wedding day).

Was evacuated after my make-up, before my hair got done.
