Is it gross to do this...?

Drink wine in bed.

DP and I are disagreeing. Is it gross to be drinking a glass of wine in the evening, decide to go to bed to read and take the wine with you?

I knew my late DH was a keeper when we tucked into cold spare ribs in bed for breakfast after our first night together.

Eat and drink whatever you like wherever you like, but please brush your teeth. I don't know how you can stand it, unless you brush them after dinner. I can't fall asleep with unbrushed teeth. I've been known to wait nearly an hour for DD/DS to finish pottering in the bathroom just so I can get in and brush my teeth. (I really need to keep a toothbrush and toothpaste in the kitchen for emergencies.)

We don’t eat in or on bed, at all. Once in a while we’ll have a glass of something nice, or a cup of tea (especially lately now we’re going to bed much earlier - middle age creeping up on us), but generally we prefer to keep food and drinks to the living room/dining room.

YABU to only brush your teeth once a day, that won't end well as you age, and the morning breath must be absolutely rank, so yes. In that respect it is grim.

Eating in bed, each to their own- I do when I'm ill (I am chronically ill) but I don't think it's that pleasant tbh, crumbs etc always escape and the odour of food in the bedroom isn't very fresh feeling.

You definitely need to brush your teeth before you go to sleep...

charlJ · 25/06/2020 16:14

It’s not gross, I used to love doing it. However, I ‘fell asleep’ possibly due to drinking too much wine and rolled over with a full glass of red wine drenching dp and the bed. I haven’t done it since, I drink in the bath instead Grin

Not gross. I often have wine and a movie in bed with DH. Most of the time he'll make cheese toasties too, or chocolate. Heaven after a hard shift at work and kids go to sleep

AryaStarkWolf · 25/06/2020 16:29

No it's amazing Grin

@BlueSuedeStiletto

I'd be more concerned about sharing a night-bed with someone with uncleaned teeth. Thought those days long past!

Flowers not Wine

I always brush my teeth before climbing into bed, so could never have a drink in bed. so I'm quite clumsy, so all food/drinks stay downstairs here. But I cant see anything wrong with it though, if you like it that's fine.

ladycarlotta · 25/06/2020 17:01

Sounds lovely. But you really should brush your teeth at night.

chrislilleyswig · 25/06/2020 17:21

OP you've not said what's gross about it
