Is it gross to do this...?

Drink wine in bed.

DP and I are disagreeing. Is it gross to be drinking a glass of wine in the evening, decide to go to bed to read and take the wine with you?

Sounds cozy to me!

Bluntness100 · 25/06/2020 07:09

What’s the issue about falling asleep one night and not brushing your teeth

Nothing, but I think you misread she says she often doesn’t, not just w rare night.

Op no it’s not gross but regularly not brushing teeth before bed kind of is.

I am with your DH on this one. There is no eating or drinking of anything other than water upstairs in this house.

I see no reason to unnecessarily dirty the upstairs of my house with plates and cups and crumbs and spill s when I have a perfectly good downstairs to eat and drink in.

But then, we don't have tv's in every room and I can't read laying down in bed as it's not comfortable so would be pointlessly eating upstairs for the sake of it if I did.

Pinkypie86 · 25/06/2020 07:41

I don't like eating in bed.. my OH however, is the king of late night snacking! I wake up each morning to see all the remnants of his late night munch on the radiator cover!!

I do love a Green Tea sat in bed on a morning or evening. If I took wine up to bed, it would have to be pretty early because I'm sleeping at 9.30.

Wine in bed sounds lovey. Not brushing your teeth at night is really gross, not to mention terrible for your teeth!

ToddlerBumpBorderCollie · 25/06/2020 07:44

Unpopular opinion but yeah. Gross. Nothing but water in our bedroom.

PlanDeRaccordement · 25/06/2020 07:48

The finish a glass of wine in bed is not gross but the never brushing your teeth before bed is super gross. That has to change.

Anonymum263 · 25/06/2020 08:01

Yes, do brush before bed! An easy way to make sure your teeth get 6+ hours of "clean" time without any bits of food providing fodder for the cavity creeps!

unicornparty · 25/06/2020 08:04

It's definitely gross not cleaning your teeth before going to bed, especially straight after drinking wine. Makes me feel sick.

StarlightLady · 25/06/2020 08:04

I wouldn’t do it for “sleeping bed”, but for “passion bed”, it’s nice to complete the celebration with a glass of wine.

GruffBelow · 25/06/2020 08:20

I often take up a -bottle- glass of wine to watch Netflix in bed. Usually accompanied by some snacks. Dh is always watching sports downstairs and I love unwinding in bed when the dc are asleep.

TimeWastingButFun · 25/06/2020 13:12

I don't often brush my teeth at night
Whole new thread...

Drivingdownthe101 · 25/06/2020 13:16

please brush your teeth before bed!

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 25/06/2020 13:20

Going to sleep with the wine residue not brushed off will really damage your enamel.

It’s not gross to drink wine in bed. But it is really gross not to brush your teeth before you go to sleep.

cravingthelook · 25/06/2020 13:36

Not gross

And if you are drinking wine in bed how could you not get up to pee prior to sleeping? Thus cleaning teeth while you are in the bathroom anyway

bravotango · 25/06/2020 14:30

I don't often brush my teeth at night

This is gross

Nofunkingworriesmate · 25/06/2020 14:38

Not brushing your teeth at night is gross

Eating in bed a bit messy

Wine absolutely fine

healththrowawayx · 25/06/2020 14:42

Even on my most paralytic night outs, I made the effort to brush my teeth before sleeping!

I think by brushing your teeth at night, you commit to not consuming anything other than water. Eating food without brushing your teeth again after is exactly how tartar forms. And tonsil stone formation begins 😷

Diet Coke is bad too, all that sugar coating your teeth as you sleep & breaking down your enamel.

Always wondered why my dentist profusely compliments my teeth and says my hygiene is very good - all I do is brush/floss twice a day so nothing special, but now I realise that people don’t even do that!

zingally · 25/06/2020 14:47

Not gross. I've done it in the past!

I also eat in bed sometimes. Not like, full-on meal, but a chocolate bar, or a bag of crisps.

PregnantPorcupine · 25/06/2020 14:49

Not gross - luxury!

Home42 · 25/06/2020 14:55

No, I’m poorly. Have been spending over half my time in bed for the last 3 weeks. I’ve eaten dinner, had wine and watched Netflix from my pillow pile. Will admit that it’s sometimes rather nice 😁

hellsbellsmelons · 25/06/2020 14:58

I couldn't do it.
I clean my teeth and then get into bed.
To have wine after that would be an absolute no no for me.
I'd finish my wine downstairs and just take water to bed.
Any time I've tried to have a relaxing glass of vino in bed, I've just not had it and it's gone to waste.
And that is NOT OK! Grin

Meredithgrey1 · 25/06/2020 15:01

I don't understand why it would be gross. People often drink tea/coffee in bed in the morning, so winding down with a glass of wine while reading in bed doesn't seem weird to me. I do it sometimes if DH is watching something downstairs that I'm not interested in.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 25/06/2020 15:05

I prefer Baileys in bed, but wine is fine too

Why does your DP think it's 'gross'?

My recent Ex would say it 'Lacks class' (he didn't last long) previous Ex would only care if I hadn't brought him one - he was much more fun!!

pontiouspilates · 25/06/2020 15:07

Not gross, but wouldn't want to get all cosy and then have to get up again to clean my teeth so I don't think I'd bother taking the wine up
